Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

i think i do remember that right from when i found out i've heard every single gory labour story. you'd think they'd know better having been through it!

cornishpixie · 18/07/2007 10:56

Hi everyone, just to let you know we had a gorgeous baby girl on Friday 13th (!!). She is called Hannah Maria and weighed 7lb 15 1/2 oz.

Bit of a nightmare labour - 29 hours - with a back to back delivery - owwww! All fine now apart from a bit of a bruised mummy.....!

Just can't stop looking at her.... she's so beautiful, full head of hair, chubby cheeks... ahhhh... I could go on for hours.

Good luck to all & congrats to those who have already popped!

JennsterSlugSlayer · 18/07/2007 11:12

Congrats cornishpixie and lovely name.

Just been for a swim and there were NO school lessons on so got the whole pool! Also just booked a reflexology session on Friday too at 3pm for an hour......thanks to whoever mentioned it. There is a place that does it 2 minutes walk from the house. You never know I might not need it! Due Sunday....

Myfairone · 18/07/2007 15:40

Cornishpixie - Congratulations! So pleased to hear that Hannah arrived safely. Hope your bruising goes down soon. Well done, so happy for you.

JAM - Your excitment is infectious! Does it make you get butterflies when you think that in 4 sleeps time you will be holding your little one!!!! wow! just fantastic.

Jennster - Im jealous you had the energy to swim! Our pool always has tons of school parties in it and it puts me off!

No news from Twoplusone today....She may even have her little one by now! Lets hope she is okay and sending her huge good labour vibes!

Im sitting drinking my raspberry leaf tea bouncing on my ball....still waiting..tick tock, tick tock

Lee Anthony was born at 4.05 this morning. (3.05UK time) Weighing ina t 6lb 6oz

Got to the hospital at 12.40 was only 1cm.. and he had turned himself back to back.. Machine wasnt picking up contractions but his heart rte kept dropping to aslow as 89 then shooting up to 190.. he eventually settled down. At 2.30 got in the bath, didnt really help got out at 3 and asked to be examined was only 2cm. Contractions were coming fast.

At 345 I asked for pain relief.. think I was given meptid.. at 4am I said I needed a poo.. dh called for the mw who said she would check me.. she was very shocked to tell me I could push, Lee crowned with the first push and with the second his waters went and he came out and landed on the bed..

We are both doing well. I am very sore though

Miaou · 18/07/2007 16:00

I had a rotten night's sleep last night. Eventually dozed off at about 2.30am only to wake myself up just over an hour later by shouting "don't interrupt!" (I was dreaming that dd1 was backchatting me - Lord knows why, she never does ). I then got all weepy because I was so fed up of hardly sleeping and dh (who is an insomniac and was already awake) had to comfort me. I eventually went back off to sleep but dh got up - poor guy, he gets precious little sleep as it is and I am just making it worse atm!

Had my "last" m/w appointment today and she said the head is almost fully engaged and she doubts I'll go much past my due date, if at all! Also heard from the hospital at last about our childcare issues - they have no problem with us all turning up en masse (they are bending the rules for us) and have even said that if there is an auxiliary free then they will look after the children so that dh can be in the labour room with me . They kept saying "that's not a guarantee" but tbh it's much more than I was expecting so I am really pleased!

Miaou · 18/07/2007 16:04

oooh, x-posts, congratulations twoplusone!!

tiggsy · 18/07/2007 16:19

typhoonsmum · 18/07/2007 16:29

COngrats twoplusone!

Their can't be many of us left now!

bilblio · 18/07/2007 16:46

Congrats Cornishpixie & twoplusone!

JAM - Ooh the placenta stuff is intriguing, but I'm guessing that will be the last thing you'll be bothered about at the time.

Miaou - Glad you've got everything sorted for the kids, it must be a relief.

I'm having a rough day, my (almost) fall from my chair yesterday did me more damage than I realised at the time. By last night my back was in agony and I could barely walk. I eventually got comfy in bed, had a relatively good nights sleep (thanks to DP not even attempting to share the bed with me) but I'm no better today. I feel like I've got whiplash, my back and neck are killing me, and I'm feeling slightly sick. Added to the baby pain I've got in my groin and stomach anyway I'm not a happy bunny.

I've been so careful of my back during my pregnancy, because it's bad anyway. I had to have a lot of physio a couple of years ago. I've been so pleased I've not had any problems then 2 days before I'm due I go and do this! Typical!

I've gone from hoping this LO arrives soon to hoping it arrives late and gives me a few days to recover.

thankyou jam can't believe this time next week i'll be cuddling my lo!
bilbli- sounds awful, maybe you should give mw a call? they might be able to suggest something and get your dp to give you a lovely massage!

bilblio · 18/07/2007 17:05

At the moment I'm trying to do the exercises I was given by the physio last time, they're all about strengthening my pelvic floor muscles so I'm multi-tasking. I'm hoping a few days taking it easy will sort me out, if not then I'll go and ask the doctor for a referral, they've been really good in the past so it shouldn't be a problem.

Taking it easy isn't very easy when you've got the urge to nest though. I'm doing it by proxy, DP has a list of cleaning jobs to do.

Twoplusone - Well done, and welcome to Lee Anthony. So pleased to hear that all is well and that you are both okay. Sorry to hear you are sore but your little one is here now and you can relax! (hopefully!) Try and get some rest.

Miaou - Thats excellent news about the childcare! Lets hope there is an auxillary free who can take care of them for you. Sorry to hear about the sleepless nights. I think we are all in the same boat with that one!

Bilblio - So sorry to hear about your back. Its bad enough of a strain on it being pregnant, let alone doing acrobatics from chairs! Hope you feel better soon.

JAM - I am so excited for you. At least you know when its going to happen! So pleased that you feel the way you do. Bless DS for being so cute

Kyte - Im on my birth ball too while I sit at the pc. Quite funny really when you think about it...all over the country there are hugely pregnant women bouncing on balls!

Hope everyone is feeling well tonight...I don't know about you lot but I kind of dread bedtime now. Once the darkness draws in I just know I'm not going to get any sleep and the frustration of trying to get comfy is just too much at times!

Oh well, wont be long I guess.

Big hugs to all and their bumps or bundles!
