Caroline- took your title to follow on the horsey theme!!

No idea what I'm having. Wanted to find out but DH didn't and as it meant we'd have had to pay for a private scan we didn't bother.
What about you?

Just to let you know that I've had my baby (Isabelle Grace) on Monday 16th. 7lb 5,5 oz. Will post a proper birth story when a bit more with it!

Good luck to those waiting.

tiggsy · 18/07/2007 20:21

well done catz! all of a sudden theres babies left right & centre!!
i feel so uncomfortable tonight, backs killing, bumps wriggling all over the place and my darling dp is sprawled out comfily on the sofa...

keiralou · 18/07/2007 20:42

Big congrats to 2plus1 and all the other recent mummies!! Can't believe Lee turned self back to back - that is inspiring to think that hopefully my LO will turn from side to front on d-day! Speaking of which my supposed d-day is today and as predicted by me it's gonna be another late one Woke up with period-type pain this morning but it hasn't come to anything as day has worn on. Every tiny twinge gets me thinking but then.... nothing. Still, gives us a chance to get house in better shape. Builders are gradually withdrawing and the place is looking more presenatble!

I also now dread night times- finding it harder to settle and get comfy. Also wake up with weird thoughts and then can't sleep. Still it should be here by end of next week at the latest..

Good luck to all remaining bumps!

Myfairone · 18/07/2007 22:00

Catz - Congratulations on your new arrival..love the choice of names (they appear on our list too!)

Tiggsy - Hope he hasn't still got his 'shedding socks on'!

Keiralou - Hope you dont go too far over and that your house is just ready when the arrival finally arrives!

Well I am at that time of day where I'm wondering if its even worth trying to sleep. May just sit up and make the most of having the remote control.
Bump feels so tight again tonight. I can tell this LO just has zero room to move...cant be comfortable for it and it knows I have a nice big comfy moses basket just waiting for its arrival! And its still not tempted

Caroline1852 · 18/07/2007 22:30

caroline- congratulations & welcome oscar! can't believe your home already! might wind dp up a bit cos he's looking forward to a few days home alone wishful thinking that i'll be allowed home so quickly tho i think

Myfairone · 19/07/2007 08:43

Caroline - So pleased to hear of Oscar Jack's safe arrival. And congratulations on being well enough to come home so early! Well done and make sure you take care of yourself and LO

Tiggsy, nice to see that you slept last night. Thankfully I got a couple of hours in a row (wooohoooo!) so don't feel too bad today.

Tummy feels soooo tight again this morning, I'm half expecting this thing to just burst through the skin...oiling myself like mad and telling LO ever so nicely that 'its time'!!!!

Hope you all have a great day.

I'm with you on the sleep front Kyte. Am knackered. Had 5 hours sleep waking frequently with cramps. Had show this morning and then realised I have no idea where TENS machine is still. A prayer to St Anthony I think? (Also a second choice name). Have put a WANTED post up on Freecycle to see if anybody will lend me one, and my friends from NCT last time are all asking about for me. Think it's too late to hire, although I will be ringing Boots in a minute. Going for a walk to supermarket and Mothercare too.

Myfairone · 19/07/2007 09:15

Jennstser - I ordered mine from this place
www.tens-hire.co.uk and their priority service got it to me next morning (real early!)...not sure if thats speedy enough for you though.

Kyte - I am totally with you on the sleep front too. Im almost afraid to go to bed now because I know that its just going to be a frustrating night of trying to get comfy before you need to pee again!

JAM - I can understand your nerves but at least you know when its going to happen You will be just fine!

Just got a call from my cousin who is going to come over and visit me today. Said she is only going to stay for 2 hours because she knows how tired you get at this stage...gotta love some people for their kindness!

typhoonsmum · 19/07/2007 09:17

something un baby related.

DP recently bought a HD telly from Tesco. He has since been waffling about upgrading the Sky+ to HD. Just looked on the website.

Is this right.....

£300 for the box and the £10 a month for the subscription. !!!!!!!!!

That is nearly as much as the telly cost.

tiggsy · 19/07/2007 09:20

typhoonsmum - unfortunately it is but it's really not worth buying yet. my in laws did and everything looks cr*p because theres hardly any channels broadcasting hd yet. wait a couple of months til nearer xmas (supposedly most channels will be broadcasting hd by jan 08) and it's bound to be cheaper. my dp's just as bad!

typhoonsmum · 19/07/2007 09:20

Sorry for being a bit random but i'm trying not to think of babies. The old proverb
" A waited kettle never boils" sort of thing.

Dumbledorf · 19/07/2007 09:22

Good morning all!
So many congratulations, Chooster, Cornishpixie, 2+1, Catz and Caroline1852!!
Fab news everyone!

Well, still no baby for me, this is my 4th day over, which is nothing really. Am going for a sweep later today, so maybe that will get things going. My mw booked it in about 3 or 4 weeks ago saying "when you go over..." and I was so convinced the baby would be here by now!!

Still feeling quite calm and relaxed though. Have another sweep booked by tues and may be a bit less relaxed by then as I can't have hb as planned if I go more than 14 day over and will have to start rethinking the whole thing.

Having said I feel calm and relaxed, I DO....but there is a tiny irrational partof me thinking "am I really pregnant?" Have I just imagined the whole thing? See? Crazy. There's also a bit of me just wanting the baby out so I can know that everything's ok. But mostly I'm remaining sane!!

Good luck with all the twinges today ladies!

typhoonsmum · 19/07/2007 09:23

Thanks Tiggs.

Was going to wait anyway. Money will drop on maternity pay anyway so there is no point andding extra costs to it. Was just a bit curious.

The telly was only £450 (37" HD- DP is very impressed. I'm not too concerned. As long as it shows Cbeebies and Playhouse Disney to amuse DD I'm happy- oh and Big Brother)

tiggsy · 19/07/2007 09:36

grr... mother is taking me to last mw appt this morning and wants to come in with me! she's one of those that just goes on and on about her pregnancies etc... maybe i could lock her in the car? it's not TOO hot today, give her some water... oh i feel mean now

typhoonsmum · 19/07/2007 09:38

I know the feeling. MIL insists on dropping me off and waiting in the car for me. Fortunatley she doesn't want to come in with me tho!

Groveregg · 19/07/2007 11:15

Congratulations twoplusone, chooster, cornishpixie and Caroline - hope I haven't missed anyone else!

Well it's been a tough 24 hours here, ended up in hospital last night, not for me but for ds who was having problems breathing and it turned out to be tonsillitis. Let out at 10.45pm and then had to think about getting some food... contractions still happening every so often throughout all this.

This morning they have got stronger and faster, every 4-5 mins and I am now wired up to the tens as well as on the paracetamol. I would like to think that things are imminent but dh has reminded me that this is how it was at the start of my 5 days of trying to get ds out (Really sorry if this is scaring anyone out there, I think it's very rare). Feeling daunted - and my list of babysitters for ds has gone a bit wrong as I don't want to pass on the tonsillitis to anyone... Looks like dh will be doubly busy.

tiggsy · 19/07/2007 12:47

woohoo!! lo's still definately breach so all set for next tuesday now. mw thinks poor things very uncomfortable in there now i would be too if i'd spent the last month or so with my feet either side of my head four and a half days to go!!!

Thanks Myfairone, but YAY I found my TENS. House is upside down now, but I have it. I also had a lovely lady offering to borrow through freecycle. Got an hours sleep after a long walk. Feeling very crampy, and just turned down a sweep. I'm not overdue yet so will wait and see. Mw said urine could turn up protein if you're having a show so I asked if semen could do the same. She said yes....
