Sainsbury's is going to bankrupt me!! At least I'll get 25% more than I would have otherwise though!!

Megan2018 · 16/04/2019 14:28

M&S have some with zips I’ve seen and so do John Lewis own brand.
The Australian Wondersuits are sold in John Lewis too but they are £! But lovely designs.

DustyDoorframes · 16/04/2019 14:41

An American friend sent us a zippered onesie, and both me and DP hated it! Much harder to do in a rush, somehow. We used washable nappies so maybe it was the extra bulk? Popper ones were much easier! The crazy French one with actual buttons up the back and sewn up at the crotch on the other hand...

TwittleBee · 16/04/2019 15:15

idk, I really like the ease of just undoing the fewest buttons to get to the nappy for night changes to keep them warm and sleepy still. The Zips dont seem to make that possible?

omg my french MIL got us the ones with buttons at the back! why? how is that even useful?

Megan2018 · 16/04/2019 15:21

I know the wondersuits have 2 way zips so you can unzip the bottom for nappy changes. Not sure if the cheaper ones do.

boodles101 · 16/04/2019 15:47

Thanks ladies, my mum turned up out of the blue and let me go off for a little lay down. I do wonder if he's starting to not need his nap anymore. Feeling better in myself now, silly tiredness and hormones and looking forward to tomorrows consultant appt.

Stroan · 16/04/2019 16:36

I always hated the sleepsuits that go over the head and only had poppers at the leg/crotch. Which are not really different to vests but made me much ragier.

Really tired here too. And my spd has flared up this afternoon. And my dd is giving out so much fucking attitude she should be on tv.....

DustyDoorframes · 16/04/2019 16:50

Oh no decaf!! Your poor pelvis!!
Glad to hear your mum came to the rescue boodles. Hopefully your DS's nap will re-emerge tomorrow!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/04/2019 17:03

Dc4 is 2 years 6 months. Some days he wont nap. If i need to rest i shut us both in a safe room and stick some tv on. Sometimes he will come and cuddle up with me, other days he repeatedly pokes me in the eye ....

Moraxella · 16/04/2019 18:50

Question for those who have had kids before: what body changes are irreversible (say, one year post birth)? This is really worrying me: rib cage size, hip size- do they all change permanently or would you say your shape has returned gradually to normal? (Obv not immediately postpartum I mean longer term 🙏)

boodles101 · 16/04/2019 19:24

moraxella it might be a personal thing and different for everyone.
The only thing that hasn't gone back to normal for me is my belly button but I can live with that!
Oh and the deflated boobs after ebf for a year but I never had more than a handful anyway.

TwittleBee · 16/04/2019 19:35

I agree its probably personal so you'll make yourself a long list by asking this moraxella but for me the permanent changes have been; my hips have stayed wide (but actually I rather like it, gives me a bit of curve finally!) and my small B cup boobs became A cup soggy tea bags after BFing.

DustyDoorframes · 16/04/2019 20:02

I think most changes for me have reversed both times, but it takes a good 2 years! Boobs definitely different, but as I've been pregnant and/or breastfeeding since 2012 I don't know how they will settle (btw the changes to them are largely due to pregnancy, not breastfeeding, they'd deflate anyway even with formula).
Mooncup fits a bit differently come to think, so things have clearly changed shape a bit there, although I wouldn't notice otherwise. And a few more moles!
Hopefully I won't banjax myself this time around!

BBell2 · 16/04/2019 20:20

@kyles101 I'm the same with sainsburys kids clothes, bought DD so many beautiful autumn colours which looked ace with her red hair. This might be a very prettyly dressed boy. Loved m&s vests too, washed brilliantly and were really gender neutral in proper brights.
@Moraxella my body didn't really change outwardly, just never got back to full continence. That's some permanent damage I feel.

kyles101 · 16/04/2019 20:47

@BBell2 they have some beautiful really bright Elmer bits in!

DustyDoorframes · 17/04/2019 09:34

Ugh I'm feeling really light headed and faint this morning. I'm super late for work because I keep needing to sit down for a bit. I should have rung in to work from home but I know I won't get anything done and I'll feel awful about it so set off. Regretting it now!!

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 17/04/2019 10:02

@DustyDoorframes sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish :( especially having to go to work! I'm feeling super light headed this morning but that's cos I managed to slice into my finger with a bread knife BlushAt least I am at home with the toddler though, CBeebies is coming in useful!

Bunnymummy89 · 17/04/2019 10:44

Hope you feel better Dusty! I've been getting really lightheaded recently too and yesterday literally couldn't keep my eyes open if I sat down. Today woken up with a temperature and a bit more sick than usual so think I might have a bit of a bug... just as I was starting to get over the sickyness :( was supposed to be taking my dad to the theatre tonight, something I booked ages ago for his birthday. Also had to cancel a meet up with a friend on Saturday, been pretty good every other day. Feel like I'm always sick on the days I make plans! :(

Have said I will go back to work after the Easter holiday and already wondering how I'm going to manage it.

DustyDoorframes · 17/04/2019 11:20

Oh no @Littlehouseinthebigcity! Hope it's not too much of a gash!
@Bunnymummy89 I think our bodies know when we could cancel something so that's when we keel... are you easing back in after Easter? (Short days, or fewer)? You've had a tough time!!
Feeling much better now I'm in work mode- sat at my desk eating chocolate digestives...

Bunnymummy89 · 17/04/2019 11:50

@DustyDoorFrames I do wonder if there's an element of the psychological in it, as I put pressure on myself to make it because I really want to go out and see someone that's not a doctor! And probably worrying a bit about being ill and far from home. And then I'm sick lol. Not sure whether to listen to my body or just suck it up and hope for the best.

Work is awkward as I recently left my permanent post to do supply teaching. The thought of needing to be fit to leave the house by 7am to get to a school where I don't have support of colleagues etc is tough, but can't last on SSP much longer! I'm meeting a family about some homeschool work tomorrow and hoping to start with them after Easter part time... hoping I can arrange some more flexible hours that don't seem as daunting!

Glad you're feeling a bit better, a chocolate digestive always does me good too!

Karigan195 · 17/04/2019 12:52

Had the anomaly scan. Everything is good thank heavens. Baby is pretty bouncy still. Radiographer said it’s a good job we already knew it was a boy as there was no hiding that as first scan pic was a good picture of butt cheeks and willy 😂😂😂

Megan2018 · 17/04/2019 12:54

@Karigan195
Excellent news! Pleased all going well. He's not shy then! Grin
Ours is a week today. Nervous as hell.

Karigan195 · 17/04/2019 13:00

I know! The waiting to know everything is ok is just terrible!

IVEgottheDECAF · 17/04/2019 13:02

Mine is tomorrow! Exciting! My dd has her heart set on a sister though so thats a bit stressful but as long as baby is healthy i am sure she would get over it eventually
