@Angelmiracle I'm due on Friday! I can't quite believe it's this close now when people ask.

Fair play to you going to a wedding and soft play - I'm basically just living on the sofa or in bed at the moment. Which I'm sure ISN'T helping to get things going but I just can't manage walking around.

@Wineandchoccy good luck at soft play! It's DS's birthday in a couple of weeks and I said to DH this morning that we could maybe take him to soft play for it but that sounded like a nightmare with a newborn. You're much braver than me doing it by yourself!

Angelmiracle · 17/03/2019 14:11

You would think I should be resting @Wineandchoccy heading to a local town to see the St Patrick's day parade ☘

Good luck with soft play!! That is really brave with a newborn Grin

@angelmiracle you did well to cram that all in! It is good to stay active though. I am trying to do something each day as I am on my own during the week so need to get out the house. I have told myself baby is coming in 3 weeks now even though due date is in 2 cos I am starting to feel fed up. May plan some stuff around the time to trigger sods law! I wish there were more pregnancy groups near me.

Gronk27 · 17/03/2019 14:28

I keep being asked when I’m due, erm, last week! Had such a relaxing weekend. Going for a walk shortly to see if it helps as the weather is finally looking a bit better. I try to get out or see someone every day. Also had less messages and calls over the weekend which has been a nice reprieve.

CaseofEllen · 17/03/2019 14:54

Glad everyone is doing okay in the circumstances! Sending you all contraction vibes Thanks

I've just woken up from a nap as I had a horrendous headache! I'm due Thursday and feeling rather deflated as I just don't think he's going to arrive by then, although I know you never know.

Had a fall out with my mum yesterday as her brother (who is always taking advantage of her financially, emotionally etc) said something which I thought was really rude! Random package been delivered to post office for me, I ask DM if she has ordered anything for baby etc. He says 'maybe someone's ordered you an exercise machine for once you've had it' οΏΌ came home and had a big cry to DP. Now everyone's off too my nephews birthday party this afternoon but my invite must've got lost in the post.. my DM is the matriarch of the family so no doubt she's been moaning. DSis already told me she's said I upset her yesterday!

Sorry for rant but you did ask how we all are @Angelmiracle πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚

Gronk27 · 17/03/2019 15:45

@caseofellen I’m so sorry, how insensitive and plain rude! Why would that upset your Mum?! Sorry you’re feeling down about it. Have some me time. Is it Dsis whose child it is? Have you asked her why you’ve not had invite or is everyone just making assumptions. In any
case Flowers

I’m having a dance around my kitchen to my highly inappropriate labour and birth playlist.

Wineandchoccy · 17/03/2019 15:47

We survived soft play Smile

CaseofEllen · 17/03/2019 15:55

@Gronk27 you can't say anything about my mums siblings or their behaviour without upsetting her. She's totally blinded by them, always has been unfortunately! It's a different DSis, I think it was assumed we would all go as with family events usually but no-one mentioned it to me οΏΌ it's okay though, I'm at home with DP and DDog discussing what we'll have for Sunday dinner! Do you have 'Push It' on your playlist? Grin

@Wineandchoccy your soft play looks great! Ours doesn't have a sensory area. Glad you all enjoyed.

Gronk27 · 17/03/2019 16:04

@caseofellen I see. Families! Sunday dinner sounds much more like a fun plan to me!! And yes it is! I was just dancing to it. As well as Diana Ross I’m coming out and Kanye West Stronger.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 17/03/2019 17:33

Sorry your family are causing a little stress @caseofEllen, but at least you have time to relax and enjoy Sunday!

We went for a walk today.... My stitches said it was a bad idea! Can't imagine doing soft play yet!!!

Jenlou1992 · 17/03/2019 18:27

For the past few hours now I have been feeling my stomach kind of tense up . It's not painful just really tense. I'm not sure if it's baby moving altho never felt this consistent pattern of movements before or wether it's just Braxton hicks . Anyone experienced this . Got back ache too but more high up. Like trapped wind in the back . My indigestion has been horrendous past week or 2 so not sure if it's related . I'm 40+2

fanks · 17/03/2019 19:08

@Jenlou1992 that's what I had the other day, guessing it's just Braxton-Hicks as nothing developed.

Been using head space which seems to help chill me out!

I'm due Friday but all my others have been late so not holding out much hope. Feeling okish just achey and tired, I don't think I've ever slept this much!!

MistakenHoliday · 17/03/2019 19:28

@Wineandchoccy massive respect on the soft play visit! Our local one has this massive three story tower that's covered in webbing and the kids climb down. DD is too small still and practically slips through each gap at an alarming rate with me chasing her frantically. I think I'll wait until my pelvic floor has recovered before I attempt that again Grin

Hoping that everyone else starts moving soon - it's so frustrating in those last couple of weeks!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 18/03/2019 00:54

My pelvic floor is definitely shot at the moment - much worse than last time even though I exercised it!

Angelmiracle · 18/03/2019 08:20

Now I'm getting carpel tunnel in my right hand lying on my side or griping anything in my hand longer than 10 seconds 😫 Baby's compressing all the nerves Confused

Oh I dread to think of my pelvic floor afterwards - it was quite bad after DS and the episiotomy. It needed a lot of Pilates!

Jenfur · 18/03/2019 08:26

@Angelmiracle my right thumb has been hurting for the last few nights, been wondering if that was carpal tunnel. Bring on the end of this pregnancy!

Lost my plug this morning and had some period pain since but really mild. Crossing my fingers that things start progressing.

Gronk27 · 18/03/2019 08:45

@angelmiracle I’ve been getting such sore finger joints in the night and my MW said it was carpal tunnel. My hands are so swollen! Putting them in cold water and then warming them up really helps.

@jenfur exciting! I did the walk and curry trick last night but no dice. Resigned to the fact she’s going to be an Aries and not a Pisces Grin

Angelmiracle · 18/03/2019 08:52

@Jenfur oh that sounds positive!! Hope you keep progressing.

I've not had any appetite for a couple of days- very unlike me lol. Done a lot of walking at the St Patrick's day parade and my tailbone and lower back were very sore. Hope things are going in the right direction!!

I'm an Aries @Gronk27 it's not a bad thing Grin Birthday on Friday. Would love to book some reflexology in and get pampered for a change!

OP posts:
Gronk27 · 18/03/2019 09:08

@angelmiracle my best friend and brother are both Aries! I just always thought she’d be here by now. And a house full of water signs might be more harmonious?! I’ve been hearing a lot about reflexology last couple of days. DH gave me a foot rub yesterday and it obviously released a lot of tension because I started weeping haha!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 18/03/2019 10:31

We've got 3 Aries and a Pisces now.... Going to be an interesting household as they get bigger :D

Fingers crossed @jenfur!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 18/03/2019 12:21

@Gronk27 lucky you to get a foot rub from your DH. Mine won't go anywhere near mine. The closest I got was on Friday where my feet had massively swollen and he just laughed and poked one. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

I've been getting period like pain this morning that lasts a couple of minutes and then disappears only to return again a while later. The top of my bump also keeps twitching (wouldn't quite say tightening but almost!) and then it dies off. Also (TMI sorry) had to rush to the toilet a few times this morning.
Hoping it's the start of something!

MyMumDimensionJumps · 18/03/2019 15:51

I've been off this board for the last few days, but see there have been a few more babies! How exciting and so pleased for everyone. Congratulations everyone and lovely to see the pictures. Flowers Hope everyone is adjusting to sleepless night and sore boobs well! Smile

I'm still in the same boat as before. Having the odd couple of hours of intermittent cramping, very gradual plug loss and a growing feeling of feeling of being exhausted and fed up! 39+2 and I'm even starting to think a lot about work now, when I couldn't wait for maternity leave three weeks ago.

I'm thinking I'm going to be having an aries too. I already have a Sagittarius little man, so two fire sign boys with bundles of energy are coming my way (my son is very true to his star sign!). If that is the case this little man isn't coming before Thursday.

Has anyone gone from very few signs of πŸ€” labour to definite labour or has there always been some obvious signs beforehand? I'm really trying to just enjoy these last days, but then get a little twinge and feel I have to tidy up the house just in case (reluctantly, so not nesting). Not really able to drive due to bump, but also scared of waters breaking spectacularly on the bus, so that is probably what I should be doing as it would just be my luck if that happened!

I'm also due to see midwife Thursday. Really would like an examination to see if anything is progressing down there. I would like a sweep if it is worth doing, but doubt they will until 41 weeks.

MyMumDimensionJumps · 18/03/2019 15:54

@Jenfur

That sounds really promising. I think if you lose it in one go (rather than little bits like me) and you are quite far along, labour isn't usually far away. Hope things do progress for you quite quickly.

Daisy2990 · 18/03/2019 17:25

Baby born by planned section last Thursday. In awe of the amazing theatre staff at St James', I found the experience more daunting second time but they were amazing. There were three sections planned, which took place at 10am, 2pm, 4pm roughly. I felt very fortunate to be in first, it's a long wait otherwise, but the pre op care was good.

Quality of care in St James' postnatally was pretty poor, although not quite as busy as LGI.. I was chastised for various things that I was told to do in my notes from consultant's plans (e.g. take my own painkillers- enhanced recovery pathway - got 4 different opinions on whether I should take painkillers or not, including having a packet of paracetamol screwed up in front of me at one point). Delivered wrong food and shouted at which made me cry, staff too busy to really help during the day, four different promises made to give me my heparin all of which were missed (I am high risk). People on the phone all night etc etc - can never understand why this is tolerated. Then to top off, Bounty rep popped in to tell me I had to give her my details for my child benefit form. She was not very pleased with the note.

Apparrntly I was discharged with a note saying I didnt want to be visited the day after??? News to me - and no appointments made for 3 or 5 day checks either. Just spoke to my midwife who is absolutely horrified...

Glad babe is here safe, anyway, but saddened to be proved right about my fears around the standard of care in Leeds which has not improved since 2013.

Good luck to all those still waiting!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 18/03/2019 17:27

Last time my plug just went first thing in the morning and I went into labour not long after. Only sign something might have been happening was the fact my bump dropped the night before but nothing else really.
