@Tootyfrooty35 happy due date! That's nice to do something for it. I'm hoping to get reflexology booked in. But getting growth scan and sweep today so never know!

Baby no.2 for me - DS is 6 it's like starting again I'm nervous πŸ˜‚ He came at 41 weeks. I felt like this one would come early but have reached 39+6 already.

Hope you're doing OK @jenlou1992. Having been through the pessary process just keep an eye on the contractions ramping up and make sure they know if they do. Mine suddenly went mad!
Hopefully baby is here and you are just having lovely cuddles

Tootyfrooty35 · 28/03/2019 10:09

Haha, funny you say that @angelmiracle as my reflexologist, I saw her aldt pregnancy so message her last week, jsut messaged saying she had a slot this afty... I've jumped at the chance. Dh working from home so can take his lunch hour later.
Fingers crossed for your sweep 🀞🀞🀞

Jenlou1992 · 28/03/2019 12:04

I've had my 2nd pessary . Cervix still not dilating. Will have another pessary at half 4ish. Just praying things have progressed as I don't know what the next stage is

Tootyfrooty35 · 28/03/2019 12:18

@jenlou1993 they'll either offer another round of pessaries, if they can't break your waters, or a section. That's rhw guidelines anyway. Did you say its because baby's growth is a concern? Try and stay upright, steps are good to get baby's head bouncing on your cervix bit. Fingers crossed this one makes some progress. Is this your first baby?

Jenlou1992 · 28/03/2019 13:45

@tootyfrooty35 it's my first baby. I was meant to have an outpatient induction as I was 12 days over but when they scanned me they wasn't happy with the waters as there wasn't as much as they would like so they kept me in . I've had no pains since 2nd pessary. Will be reviewed by Dr for the 3rd one at about 16.30 ..Just praying I'm progressing

Angelmiracle · 28/03/2019 14:43

@Jenlou1992 sending dilation vibes πŸ˜€

Have my fingers crossed there has been progress for you @jenlou1992

Nightmanagerfan · 28/03/2019 18:00

Hoping the silence means things have progressed @jenlou1992 and that we hear of a baby soon!

Tootyfrooty35 · 28/03/2019 18:48

@jenlou1993 sending more dilation vibes 😁

Angelmiracle · 28/03/2019 19:23

Had 2nd sweep today by the senior registrar. She really went to town. Was having a lot of pressure from baby's head today. Been bleeding since. Growth still on 50th percentile. Weight estimated 8lb5 she's booked me for induction 8th April to give me the chance to go myself.

My sis heads back to Australia next Thurs and won't be one bit happy if baby's not here before then. What does she expect me to do about it?!

Need to get reflexology booked.

@Jenlou1992 I hope things have progressed for you.

Wineandchoccy · 28/03/2019 19:58

@Angelmiracle I hope the sweep works and your sister gets to meet your baby but unfortunately babies arrive when they want

Tootyfrooty35 · 28/03/2019 20:07

@angelmiracle I had reflexology today and it's so lovely. Bby definitely was responding but tbh it's just lovely, especially at this stage of pregnancy. I floated out of the reflexologists house πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

What you don't need is extra pressure, however lovely it is meant coming from your sister...i hope she gets to meet her niece, or nephew? But equally you can't make your cervix dilate πŸ˜‚

So after a very frantic few hours, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy George Samuel into the world.
My waters went at 11pm last night and there was a greenish tinge to them so I was asked to go into triage. There, my waters went again along a lot of black slime which they confirmed was maconium. After a bit more investigation and when I was contracting for a minute every two minutes, they discovered he was actually undiagnosed breech. I ended up having an emergency caesarean our bundle of joy was born at 9.21 this morning.

Angelmiracle · 29/03/2019 00:55

Congratulations on your new baby boy @AssumeItWasSomethingClever πŸ’™ What a whirlwind is right!! Glad you're both well.

@assumeitwassomethingclever congratulations!!! Sounds like there was a lot of drama going on for you in the final few hours before George was born, glad he is here safely!! I told you that it might not be long despite the 4/5ths engaged comments!

@jenlou1992 hopefully things have progressed for you too and you've now got your baby or well on the way too.

@angelmiracle when does your sister fly back? I guess that's the risk of coming around your due date rather than a fortnight or so later. Was her trip planned specifically with your due date in mind?

Angelmiracle · 29/03/2019 01:35

@cardboard33 the main reason for her visiting was to attend the wedding of our family friend 2 weeks ago and to introduce her first baby son of 20 weeks to us all. My EDD has fallen in with all this and they are perhaps staying a week longer than originally intended in hopes of meeting my LO. She will be returning to work finishing her maternity 10 days after they go back so it's not ideal for them to stay longer.

I understand that she wants to meet her niece/nephew but I'm not going push for an earlier induction when consultant told me today there's no clinical need and they're fully aware of my anxieties of the impending labour.

They fly back next Thurs I'll be 40+6 so there's time yet.

My bishops score was 5 yesterday - cervix is soft but 1.5cm long and still posterior. 2cm dilated but baby's head not engaged. I don't know if things will take a day or two yet or if things can change very quickly given this is my second baby.

Jenlou1992 · 29/03/2019 07:26

I was re checked at about midnight . Midwife had to do it because I didn't want a male doctor ..she then discusses with Dr and thinks my waters can be broken . I'm still only 1cm but my cervix is more (favourable) so they are going to put me on the list to go Labour ward today and have my waters broke . Then they give me 4hours to see how I progress and put me on the drip if no changes which will start everything off and baby should then arrive some time after that . Was on the monitor till 3am as they wasn't happy with babys heart traces butt got reviewed and eventually took off it ..so fingers crossed baby here today. Congratulations to anyone who has baby with them now and hope mum and babies are safe . Xx

Angelmiracle · 29/03/2019 07:33

Good luck today @Jenlou1992🀞

Hopefully not much longer @Jenlou1992 I will be thinking of you

Tootyfrooty35 · 29/03/2019 09:18

Good luck @jenlou1993 hope it all goes well πŸ’•

Try and get some sleep before they take you down, if you can.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 29/03/2019 14:21

Congratulations @assumeitwassomethingclever - glad George is here safely.

Hope you are progressing nicely @jenlou1992

Jenlou1992 · 29/03/2019 14:52

Hi all unfortunately I came to delivery ward and the consultant could not break my waters. Cervix open at front but closed at the back . Will be having a cesarean as soon as theatre is available Sad

Angelmiracle · 29/03/2019 15:26

@Jenlou1992 try not to worry! Baby will be safely with you so soon. Labour might have been really tough if baby's not in a great position or if assisted delivery might've been needed. Csection sounds scary but I've read lots of positive stories. Look at it as a good way for safe and quick delivery of baby. Good luck x
