@jenfur thank you! Not much chance of rest, we’ll sleep, there’s a lady snoring away here on this ward!

Gronk27 · 27/03/2019 04:07

*well

Wineandchoccy · 27/03/2019 05:03

@Gronk27 congratulations she is beautiful

Jenlou1992 · 27/03/2019 07:07

@CaseofEllen @gronk27 massive congratulations to you both and we'll done . Enjoy every moment with your bundle of joy

@angelmiracle yes I'm going to ask them to do a sweep and let me try labour from that before they induce me . Unless there is reason for them to hurry things up

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 27/03/2019 07:29

Congratulations @CaseofEllen & @Gronk27

Congratulations @Gronk27 and @CaseofEllen beautiful Smile

No movement here, having so much discomfort but none of it Labour wise!!!

MyMumDimensionJumps · 27/03/2019 09:21

Congratulations CaseofEllen and Gronk27. Sounds like a long labour in both cases and you did really well. Hope you manage to get some rest in the next few days to recover.

Jenlou1992 it might be worth asking for a sweep. If you're losing your plug there is some changes to your cervix and it might be more favourable now. Best of luck if it does end up in induction.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 27/03/2019 09:48

Congratulations @Gronk27 and @caseofEllen

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 27/03/2019 10:18

Just got back from my 40 week appointment. I declined a sweep which she was really lovely about and said that she didn't think it would work anyway due to me not really experiencing any regular pains. She also said that baby is 4/5th engaged so hopefully it's not going to be too long. It took her a little while to find the heartbeat this time which gave me a heart attack!! Apparently it was laying all curled up on its side so I'm going to spend the rest of the day bouncing on my birth ball to straighten them out a bit. πŸ˜‚

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 27/03/2019 10:21

Oh I've just Googled and 4/5 isn't nearly fully engaged like I thought it wasπŸ˜‚ never mind...! At least it's progressing I suppose.

Angelmiracle · 27/03/2019 11:11

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever that's great MW was so understanding and considered the fact that it prob wouldn't work. My scan and sweep is tomorrow which I'll probably take as had one last Thurs which didn't hurt. Nor did it work though. But cervix was softening and I've had pressure this week. Good luck with the ball bouncing!

How many of us are left waiting on our babies now?

@assumeitwassomethingclever glad you're appointment went well!! It's weird with the engaged thing isn't it as I think some trusts have 5/5 as "fully engaged" whereas other places have that as the lowest level of engagement. I remember googling it at my 36 week app as she said I was 4/5 engaged and it's to do with whether your notes have a P in front as to which way around it was? For me it meant that I wasn't that engaged... Which was sad... But then that was Thurs PM & by Sat PM I was contracting heavily, so it might happen quicker than you think!

Congratulations @gronk27 and @acaseofellen you did it!!! Beautiful babies!

Nightmanagerfan · 27/03/2019 13:40

@gronk27 @caseofellen huge congratulations and what lovely babies! I hope you are ok and recovering well.

@assumeitwassomethingclever
Today is my due date and I’m seeing the midwife later and planning to decline a sweep if offered. I can feel lots of pressure/twinges/braxton hicks and am happy to wait for nature to take its course. In my trust 4/5 means not very engaged-
It’s confusing isn’t it!

I am just finishing up a nice lunch at the art gallery where I’ve been for my due date treat! About to see the exhibition now and have visions of my waters going in a massive pop and drawing attention to myself!

Jenlou1992 · 27/03/2019 14:27

Just an update . Came to hospital had a scan and they arnt happy with the waters around baby as there isn't as much as they would like so they are keeping me in and starting induction . Altho not what I wanted I'm happy for the safest option for baby . Just awaiting the process now .

Angelmiracle · 27/03/2019 14:51

@Jenlou1992 good luck with induction although not what you wanted glad they were able to pick up the low fluid. Baby will be here soon.

Congratulations @gronk27 and @caseofellen! And welcome to the world to your beautiful babies.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Nightmanagerfan · 27/03/2019 15:44

@jenlou1992 will be thinking of you - hope the induction is quick and you can distract yourself in the meantime and save some energy.

Midwife didn’t recommend sweep - said head is 2/5 (so very engaged) and she thinks baby will come by itself soon Smile

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 27/03/2019 17:32

Good luck @Jenlou1992

@cardboard33 @Nightmanagerfan glad it's not just me who is confused by the X/5ths engaged!

Angelmiracle · 27/03/2019 18:44

@Nightmanagerfan oh sounds encouraging. Hope I have a productive appointment tomorrow!

Hoe I'm OK to jump on board... Edd tomorrow and feeling frankly fed up. Want to crawl into a nest and have everyone leave me alone.

I really hope I have a birth to announce soon, I'm not ashamed to say I'm slightly jell of those wirh babies earthside πŸ˜‚ this bit of pregnancy, waiting, is soooo hard.

@caseofellen congratulations.... I noticed you were quiet in the other 'fed up' thread and hoped it was because baby had arrived πŸ’•

Congratulations to all the mammas, enjoy your precious new bundles, it does genuinely go by too fast. Soak them up, smell their little heads and their milky breath, totally dreamy.... I want miiiiiiinneeeee πŸ˜‚πŸ’•

Angelmiracle · 28/03/2019 00:15

You're more than welcome to join @Tootyfrooty35 what number baby is this for you?

So had my first pessary at 3.30 yesterday . They checked me at 10pm and I was barely 1cm but contracting regular so they couldn't give me another pessary and I've had to go through the night to see if I can dilate on my own . Just back on the monitor now as I said my contractions are not as regular or painful . So hopefully they will give me another one .

Tootyfrooty35 · 28/03/2019 07:26

@angelmiracle number three ❀️ have dd4 and ds2.5 so basically I'm knackered πŸ˜‚

Happy due date to meeeeeee! Going to treat myself to a huge scone with Jane and cream today then out for meal with kids and dh later. Doubt I'm in the 5% who hve baby on EDD so need to keep busy and not cry!

@jenlou1993 good luck, be prepared for a wait but hopefully once they can break your waters it will be quick and baby will be in your arms soon πŸ’•

Tootyfrooty35 · 28/03/2019 07:27

@angelmiracle which baby for you?

I may have jinxed myself all along as I wanted an April baby, that's what we planned, plus my others were both 42 weekers 😣😩
