@sheeni fantastic name and what a lovely baby boy. Well done you with no pain relief. Hope you get some rest and feel better soon.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 22/03/2019 22:53

Congratulations @Sheeni he's beautiful.

Is anyone else suffering from a continuously numb bum? It doesn't matter how I sit, stand, lay, bounce on my ball etc. It doesn't seem to shift! It's like the sensation you get just before/after you get pins and needles. I'm assuming it's baby sitting on a nerve but I'm just wondering if anyone's got any tips on how to ease to discomfort or shit it?

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 22/03/2019 22:53

Apologies... I meant shift not shit. πŸ˜‚

aibu1 · 22/03/2019 22:58

Congratulations @Sheeni he's beautiful!

CaseofEllen · 22/03/2019 22:59

Lol sorry I name changed earlier! Just changed it back, anyway congratulations again!

Wineandchoccy · 23/03/2019 08:43

@Sheeni congratulations he is beautiful and a lovely name x

SquirtlesMumAgain · 23/03/2019 10:03

Congratulations @sheeni. Sorry it was a bit more stressful than you hoped, at least gas & air is amazing stuff!

@assumeitwassomethingclever yep definitely had that problem pre-birth!

Sheeni · 23/03/2019 12:49

Thank you all! Still haven't slept, every time I try to have a nap, either he cries or some midwife/doctor turns up.
Good luck to everyone who's still waiting for their delivery!

Gronk27 · 23/03/2019 17:50

@assumeitwassomethingclever I have horrendous sciatica.

I phone the ward today about not wanting induction and as I’m +10 days and not +12 and they had no beds anyway they were more than happy to book me in Monday. So booked in Monday and trying everything to get her going before then!

Dalesgirl16 · 23/03/2019 18:10

Really sick of this now. Just Called triage holding back tears as I wasn't sure if I'm having contractions! This is my second baby! The vaginal stabbing pain is pretty constant so confuses me when I get other tinges. Today is first time I've cried from pain so maybe it is. They told me to take paracetamol and call back if not better as paracetamol won't work-now that I do know!!

CaseofEllen · 23/03/2019 18:35

@Gronk27 so glad they didn't give you any hassle, hope baby makes an appearance in the next two days!

@Dalesgirl16 I have exactly this going on! A few back twinges, some period pain but vaginal stabbing pains making me scream out Confused I'm 2cm dilated as of Thursday and 40+2. Midwife said I must've had contractions to get to 2cm so I totally get why you're so confused!!

Dalesgirl16 · 23/03/2019 19:09

@CaseofEllen I see you have lost your mucus plug too. The midwife said apparently that doesn't even need yo have happened yet. So confusing when it's different to last time and the internet says a lot of rubbish. Yes, pressure really building up. I don't even know if I'm dilated as I'm not having sweeps or anything - got to have a caesarean next Friday if I can hold out. I really don't want to be going there in the middle of the night in pain!!

Sictransitgloria · 24/03/2019 05:08

How is everyone doing? Hope you are all ok.

Can’t sleep again. And also had a very bad tummy overnight Confused

ballanj · 24/03/2019 05:15

@Sictransitgloria I'm now on the antenatal thread but just saying hi as I'm awake too πŸ‘‹πŸΌ. Baby won't settle so using my time to catch up on here!

Sictransitgloria · 24/03/2019 05:34

@ballanj aw hope baby settles for you soon!

Jenlou1992 · 24/03/2019 05:58

Morning all .. I have woken with period pains . I'm 41+2 and this is my first sign of anything happening . Little bits of blood when I wipe and in my pad this morning . Only small amounts tho but I am hoping this is the start of something .

Wow almost forgot what it's like to have period pains . Lay in bed thinking how I haven't missed this feeling at all .

CaseofEllen · 24/03/2019 05:59

@Sictransitgloria I'm feeling deflated! 40+3 now - had back ache/period pain all night. Along with a cracking headache! Hopefully the tummy is a sign of things to come for you!

CaseofEllen · 24/03/2019 06:00

@Jenlou1992 exciting! Sounds like it could be the start of something for you. Are you booked in for induction this week? Hopefully baby arrives before then!

Jenlou1992 · 24/03/2019 06:07

@CaseofEllen fingers crossed . I'm booked for induction on Wednesday which would make me 41+5 but I was going to decline and just ask for a sweep if I get that far as I haven't had a sweep yet . When the midwife attempted one my cervix was closed . It's obviously starting to soften/open now so I'm hoping I either deliver before Wednesday or just get the sweep as long as everything is healthy with me and baby I don't see why they won't do that instead for me . Really wanting to avoid being induced

Angelmiracle · 24/03/2019 06:35

@Jenlou1992 fingers crossed - the period pains sound promising. Thats how labour started with DS. Surely you can avoid induction but as you say a sweep might be all that's needed.

Ive had random pressure and tightenings during the day but nothing at night. No period cramping yet and feel exactly like you I certainly haven't missed cramps!!

@CaseofEllen hope the period pains keep progressing. It sounds like your body is trying to do something!

@Sictransitgloria sleep alludes me at night. Can nap better during the day if I get a chance to. Hope dodgy tummy is start of things for you .

Morning sorry about those losing sleep and feeling frustrated! I am very lucky that I can get a couple of blocks of 3/4 hours sleep a night although waking up early every day.

I’m pretty sure I’ve just had some waters leak/trickle. Am I right in thinking that as it wasn’t a pop/gush I don’t need to be seen in a hurry? I managed to get some on a
Pantyliner just in case. Period pains have ramped up slightly
But not getting my hopes up!

Sictransitgloria · 24/03/2019 07:29

Hope this is it for you @jenlou1992

@caseofellen I read a birth story the other day about a woman who had a headache for 2 days, saw her midwife and was 5cm dilated. Hope it goes the same way for you!

@angelmiracle yeah I am the same re: sleep. A good night is having a 3 hour stint of sleep. Last night i didn’t go to sleep til gone 1.30 then up hourly and now I am up for the day.

Had a bad tummy from what I thought was a bit of a carb overload at nandos. Had some BH and stabby fanny pain (actually felt like baby had claws πŸ˜‚) but didn’t let on to my friend. Someone dropped a plate which also nearly scared the baby out of me haha. Now I’m up with period pain too and its coming in waves every 4-8 mins but it isn’t really awful just horribly uncomfortable like period pains are. Haven’t seen any mucous or waters so think this might just be my body getting ready. I know this could go on for another 3 weeks so not dragging DP out of bed right now although he is due to go out cycling this morning. Think I might have a nice bath and just chill with a coffee this morning, probs overdone it recently.

Sictransitgloria · 24/03/2019 07:30

@gronk27 also hope this is the start of things for you. No advice re waters - can you ring your labour line/maternity ward for advice?

Gronk27 · 24/03/2019 07:43

@sictransitgloria yes I will give them a ring shortly, just hoping they let me carry on chilling at home! Think I’m going to start timing these period type pains.

Sictransitgloria · 24/03/2019 08:07

@gronk27 hopefully they do. Home is the best place for you isn’t it. Fingers crossed you start progressing :)
