@CaseofEllen yep, I think it's better after show because your body is already starting the process. She just said that there might be more mucus now the sweep has been done and also probably irregular contractions for a while.

CaseofEllen · 20/03/2019 17:06

@Jenfur I'm glad! Did you have any contractions since your show? Or waiting to see if sweep works?

Jenfur · 20/03/2019 17:19

@CaseofEllen I've had period type pains through the night for a number of days now and getting Braxton Hicks so often it's not funny. But nothing really like a proper contraction (from what I remember of the real deal!!)

CaseofEllen · 20/03/2019 18:01

@Jenfur hoping this starts it off properly for you then! 🀞🏼

I've been having on and off pains all day still, really hoping things kick off for me overnight, FTM so hard to know what to expect but I just feel very dodgy πŸ€”

kee80 · 20/03/2019 20:30

Hi all had my little girl yesterday by planned c-section at 1.44pm, weighing 7lb14. All went well we're back home now and I'm really sore but would so worth it

CaseofEllen · 20/03/2019 20:44

@kee80 congratulations Thanks

Jenlou1992 · 20/03/2019 21:28

@kee80 congratulations , she's beautiful . Hope you have a speedy recovery xx

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 20/03/2019 22:13

@Jenfur @CaseofEllen I've had period pains most nights this week and on and off all day today. I've also got quite a bit of pressure down there. I've got my fingers crossed for something soon although part of me wants to buy myself some time and I'm a bit nervous... not for the birth but for the actual baby!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 20/03/2019 22:13

@kee80 congratulations. She's absolutely beautiful.

CaseofEllen · 20/03/2019 22:23

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever sounds promising 🀞🏼 I just can't wait to not be pregnant anymore honestly Blush

Pains were coming every 30/45 mins until about 7pm. They slowed down but suddenly had awful pain, nausea and diarrhoea about 20 minutes ago (sorry tmi). Can't explain it but I just don't feel right, feel like something is stirring in my belly. Quite nervous for labour just because I hate feeling/being sick!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 20/03/2019 22:33

@CaseofEllen diarrhoea is quite common in early labour apparently. As your uterus contracts, it also stimulates the bowel. I hate being sick too but try not to panic or let your nerves get the best of you (easier said that done I know!) I hope everything settles down on the nausea front! Fingers crossed something happens for you tonight x

CaseofEllen · 20/03/2019 22:43

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I have heard that, could be another sign but could be the chilli sauce I had with dinner Blush feeling very shaky atm which is odd. DP slept badly last night so he has gone into spare bed to try and get as much sleep as possible just incase anything does happen overnight/tomorrow. How are you feeling? Have you reached your due date yet?

SquirtlesMumAgain · 20/03/2019 22:43

Congratulations @kee80 - welcome to the world little one.

@caseofEllen hope things keep progressing for you.

Angelmiracle · 20/03/2019 23:46

@kee80 congratulations on your new baby girl she is gorgeous πŸ’— Glad all went well and you're both home!

Fingers crossed for you @CaseofEllen

@Assumeitwassomethingclever I get what you mean whilst I'm heavily pregnant I think I'd be happy with a few more days.

Besides DH has been on call 3 nights this week so far Grin

@Jenfur good luck that things will properly start for you soon too!

I was out for dinner last night with girl cousins and my sis. Lunch with DB today. Brunch with more cousins aunties DM and sis tomorrow. And apparently a family dinner booked for my birthday in Friday.

Surely all this running will start something πŸ˜„

Congratulations on all of the births ladies!! And those of you who are still waiting, it has to end at some point soon!! Hope you can be as comfortable as possible during the final stretch, you're all amazing, I def had it easy in comparison.

@nightmaremanager I was due to start leave this Monday & would have been exactly the same as you, wouldnt have known what to do and most likely ended up volunteering to continue doing work whilst I waited. Hopefully you don't have a long wait if you've worked until close to your due date.

@acaseofellen & @assumeitwassomethingclever I had v bad bowel movement whilst we were at home. Not diarrhoea but v runny & constantly on the loo. Then once we got to the hospital I said SO many times "I really need a poo" but didn't end up going (no time) so think it was his head by that point. I also had uncontrollable shaking for ages directly after he was born so I guess it's possible you could get it in labour too.

Jenfur · 21/03/2019 07:31

@kee80 congratulations, what a cutie!

I had pains after the sweep yesterday which I realised when I was in bed were contractions (I don't know why it didn't occur to me sooner!). They were about five minutes apart for a little while when I was trying to sleep but have slackened off during the night. Feeling very uncomfortable and having plenty of different pains (very strong period pain, back pain, bizarre hip pains) but not proper contractions now πŸ˜’

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 21/03/2019 07:58

@CaseofEllen hope you're feeling better this morning. I'm due on Tuesday (26th) 😊 but apart from the odd twinge, I have a feeling I'm going nowhere fast!

@Jenfur good luck! I hope everything speeds back up for you!

@cardboard33 How is everything with baby?😊

I know I haven't reached my due date yet but the suspense is killing me. Every morning, I'm wondering if today is going to be the day we get to meet our baby. Not sure what I'm going to do if I go two weeks over! πŸ˜‚

CaseofEllen · 21/03/2019 08:05

@cardboard33 yes I've heard shaking can happen during early labour due to adrenaline so maybe that's what happened! How are you getting on?

@Jenfur so frustrating isn't it? Hope things progress quickly for you Thanks

Contractions eased off, had pain every hourish overnight but managed to get some sleep in between. DP in spare room so hoping he managed a good sleep! Today is my due date!! Can't quite believe we've made it Grin will go to midwife this afternoon and accept sweep as now things have started I want them to progress!

CaseofEllen · 21/03/2019 08:06

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever I felt that way too and then suddenly had bloody show and contractions, albeit they've slowed down. So 🀞🏼 for you xx

cardboard33 · 21/03/2019 08:53

@assumeitwassomethingclever & @acaseofellen really hope something starts soon for you. I'd be rubbish dealing with the anticipation/wait so probs lucky that he came unexpectedly early & relatively quickly as we didn't have time to think until baby was here. We are doing fine(ish), thanks, husband has gone back to work for 1 day to see how we get on and then he's doing 3 days next week. So weird thinking that it's not even my due date yet and he's already almost done with the 3 weeks paternity leave!! It's also odd how I've now leap frogged all of you ladies when I've been following you 3-4 weeks behind all of the way through the pregnancy thinking "this is what I've still got to come" ... And it never ever came.

Gronk27 · 21/03/2019 09:04

Been having slight period pains this morning and off for my β€˜overdue’ appointment at 11.30 and going to have a sweep.

CaseofEllen · 21/03/2019 09:28

@cardboard33 glad you are all doing well!

@Gronk27 hope the sweep goes well for you! Treat yourself to Cake afterwards!

I'm really nervous for my sweep this afternoon, not just for how it will feel as I'm almost prepared for the uncomfortable/painful feeling. BUT I'm nervous for (sorry tmi) just having someone down there, I'm so swollen and have a lot of mucus still. I'll obviously bath before I go but still feel so gross Blush

SquirtlesMumAgain · 21/03/2019 09:33

Trust me they have seen everything and will see much worse @caseofEllen! I know it doesn't help the brain but the things your body goes through in labour will be miles worse most likely!
