@StargazyDrifter, yes definitely pleased that DH is on board for a second.
@ReginaPhalange89, we've spent a good while testing lots of different prams, although we're still looking I genuinely believe it's all personal preference.
Me and my DH are both over 5'10 (and we both were long babies), so the Oyster 3 didn't really work for us - I really need to get measurements for all of the carry cots though. The Egg was similar. We both looked at them and thought that a long baby wouldn't last very long in the carrycot units. Also, the seat unit for the Oyster 3 has a really odd lift off point.
The Silver Cross Wave was our favourite Silver Cross because it's able to tandem, but it was bulky. It seemed smooth to push though and it's still on our 'potential' list. Really random thought for us, but I feel quite sentimentally attached to a Silver Cross; my Nan had a coach-built Silver Cross with my Mum, and my Mum had a Silver Cross with me - there's something really nice about that. They've been around for years and years - they must be doing something right.
Weirdly, we looked at a Bugaboo, but one the one we looked at the handle covering doesn't extend as far as the other handle coverings on other prams, so you almost end up holding the chassis rather than the covered handle depending on how you steer the pram. Quite cold in Winter!
We didn't think the iCandy was that bulky compared to some others. I quite like the height extenders for it (again, we're quite tall, so mega useful compared to some of the others with lower seats). We both walk the dogs too, so going on different terrains is quite key for us, and it felt like the suspension would be up to that. DH didn't think the iCandy was too heavy when folded. They are expensive, but I also think they tend to have a high resale value compared to some of the others. The fact that it can double up was a big selling point for us. There's a shop my DH hates with a passion, but I love, so as a joke, we were testing out the 'turning circles' in narrow aisles - as if my DH was escaping from the hated shop; we found that the iCandy had a very small turning circle which was lovely. It, for us, was a very smooth ride.
The Mamas & Papas staff put me off the Ocarro which is another tandem pram, because they said it was a one hand fold, but kept demonstrating the fold with two hands.
It made me feel like they didn't really know, or couldn't really demonstrate, their products properly.
I think for us, we're happy to pay the price for a good pram - as long as it works for our lifestyle. It is definitely all personal preference though, so I think the best thing to do is to go into a shop and have a bit of a play!
