Sorry, can't think of a more exciting title!

Such a chatty bunch that we're racking up the threads now. Can anyone share the link for the Google Docs spreadsheet? The one I tried didn't work.

Thanks!

Oops!

It looked utterly shit. We kept going out without her and leaving her in the hotel room and I was constantly crying, although she never did. Horrible!!

StargazyDrifter · 08/02/2019 09:27

Kentish glad you're getting help for the coughing, but the scan stuff is outrageous. I would press and press, though also completely understand that sometimes that's more stressful than just getting a private one for peace of mind and no aggro. I used The Birth Company recently and they were great, and very flexible on appt times/last minute changes to the time.

Coming out the other side from a 2 day migraine. 😭 A busy and important week at work and here I am lolloping about. I hadn't realised how much pregnancy can impact on work. I'm sure they're pissed off, but also slightly past caring as the 20 week scan approaches! Just 10 days to go.

ReginaPhalange89 · 08/02/2019 09:28

Oh I've had dreams like that @birthdaykake, where I'm out somewhere and I've left the kids home alone, I'm trying to get back quickly but suddenly hours have gone past and I'm panicking about the toddler lol

BeckyButterfly · 08/02/2019 10:09

@StargazyDrifter since going back to work at the start of Jan, after the Xmas hols, I’ve not done one full week! Between appointments, illness and a potential case of slap cheek I’ve barely been there. So I totally know where you are coming from with not realising how much it would impact work.

BirthdayKake · 08/02/2019 10:51

@ReginaPhalange89 it's scary isn't it?!

Trying2bemum · 08/02/2019 17:22

Congrats on a boy giraffe!

Hope you are feeling better kentish, sorry the midwife was so unsympathetic.

fuzzy was it you who said you hadn't bought anything yet? If it helps I haven't even thought about it. Might start trying to get DH to clear some of his crap out of the spare room - but even that probably won't happen for a month or so...

BeckyButterfly · 08/02/2019 21:10

I bought something for the bean today! First thing I’ve bought. It scared me a bit because I am surprisingly superstitious (I blame my mum) and I had wanted to wait till my 20 week scan but I just couldn’t resist. It’s a pack of two onesies with dinosaurs on. They are the cutest little things! 😍

StargazyDrifter · 08/02/2019 21:14

BeckyButterfly ❤️❤️❤️

I hadn't ordered some books for the baby (high contrast black and white ones) from a sale and they turned up tonight. Very cute!

cravingmilkshake · 09/02/2019 08:20

17 week gender scan tomorrow! Very excited over here 😃

Yukka · 09/02/2019 10:16

@beckybutterfly now you make me want to buy something it’s so hard resisting! The best I’ve done so far is carpet 🤦‍♀️

Congrats @giraffe in team blue.

Firmly staying in team yellow here. We think we’ve chosen names for either, need to think about the girls a bit more.

AnnaBegins · 09/02/2019 10:32

Hi ladies, missed you all, sorry I've just been busy with work and exams and not updating. All well here, barely any bump which for a 2nd is unusual I think. But heard the heartbeat at 16 week appt which was nice.

Anyone know when/how we get MATB1 form? My next MW appt is 28 weeks but work need it before then obviously.

Jxtina I think it was you who mentioned reusable nappies? We used them to save money and they were awesome. Google UK nappy network to find a local nappy library for a trial kit. I reckon we saved £500 even for one kid, so should save well over £1k over 2 kids, even taking the extra laundry into account.

AnnaBegins · 09/02/2019 10:33

Oh and please can I have the fb link again please? The link upthread says I don't have permission to view. I could see it a few weeks ago but as it was closed not secret I thought it best to wait until we'd officially announced before joining.

Giraffe888 · 09/02/2019 10:45

@annabegins my midwife said the other day I’ll get it at my next appointment (25wks) but that if work ask for it before just to call up and they’ll get it ready for me to call in and collect

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/02/2019 12:20

They've closed the Facebook group now so people can't search for it but you can still be added , you need to give one of them your fb email address? If anyone ones to send me in a message I could pass it on .

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/02/2019 12:25

Also think they said they will close the page to new members eventually, can't remember when maybe once everyone's passed the 20 week mark ? So if anyone wants to join I'd maybe do it soon!

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/02/2019 12:33

@amanda2809 is one of the admins if anyone wants to message her their email to be added :)

Squ1ggle · 09/02/2019 13:15

@AnnaBegins I asked about this and my doctors surgery said i could just ring up after 20 weeks and the gp would sort it out for me ready to collect

TheScaredyKat · 09/02/2019 13:47

Hi All just a quick update from me. 20week scan yesterday and was well, we're having a boy! 💙

StargazyDrifter · 09/02/2019 16:22

Congrats on your news, TheScaredyKat! 😍

TwinkleDay · 09/02/2019 16:22

So do you not get a mat1b form at your 20 week scan? How long do you have to wait to get it, and where from midwife or gp?

My 20 week scan is Monday afternoon. Eek.

Congratulations on another little boy for the thread!

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/02/2019 17:29

Aww congratulations @TheScaredyKat !

I'm pretty sure my last 3 pregnancies I got my matb1 at around 22 week appt from my midwife ?

Giraffe888 · 09/02/2019 17:54

@thescaredykat welcome to the boy club 💙

@twinkleday I’ve to get mine from my midwife. Either call to get after 20 wks or wait until my 25wk appointment x

AnnaBegins · 09/02/2019 17:59

Thanks Regina I will pm you my email. How weird about closing it - my 2015 group were happy to add people even post-birth, it's a fab community even now. Maybe I should stick with the thread if the group is a bit cliquey?

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 09/02/2019 18:48

I'm struggling to keep up. What's the Facebook group?

wombatron · 09/02/2019 20:02

@AnnaBegins I don't know why, they put a poll up to ask if people wanted to wait till a certain date (March) before making it private so that those who were waiting till 20 weeks has announced, or to do it straight away. There weren't many votes but the outcome was to do it by a certain date which was a few days ago. It seems a bit weird to have made it private. there's 2 July threads running on MN with a different group of people so not all are from ours
