Nellie - I always feel crap if I have eaten too much before bed, especially something as rich as banoffee pie. In fact I have started feeling slightl nauseous in themornings again too. I mentioned this last week and someone said at around 26 weeks it is quite common to feel like this because you get a rush of hormones again

Oh and regarding the wine, I have the odd couple of glasses still so don't worry about that.

Well we have another nice morning here, third on the trot which is nice

FloriaTosca · 09/07/2007 08:17

G'd Mornin' all!
Nellie;I agree with Pheebe and Muppet, its the hormones...I took Mum out for belated birthday lunch on Saturday (fantastic meal but portions without exaggeration 4x larger than anyone would expect!)and we were booked at the in-laws for dinner (I squeezed down a small portion of her meat and potato pie and couldnt even manage a spoonful of icecream for dessert)..by evening I felt ultra sick, sipped soda water in the pub and felt rotten..though I was designated driver (obviously) they all had to get a taxi home because I couldnt make it past 11.30, was fit to drop and they werent ready to call it a night. And dont worry about the wine...not all that long ago they were recommending for pregant women to drink a bottle of stout a day and eat liver daily for the iron content! Whole generations grew up perfectly fine ...a glass of wine now and again isnt going to hurt!

Pheebe · 09/07/2007 08:43

Quick question for all the second (or more) timers. How different does your bump feel this time round? I feel really fat and pregnant from the belly button upwards but perfectly normal below that except when he kicks and wriggles as I feel all those low down. Last time it was the opposite way round.

Braxton hicks are really cranking up now too, never had them at all with DS1. I thought they weren't supposed to hurt but mine do sometimes.

Floria, hope you're feeling better today too.

Best get off to work now, have a good day everyone

phee

MrsFish · 09/07/2007 08:49

Mine feels fat and big all over, but I am probably this size about a month quicker than last time. I think I have started getting the Braxton Hicks, they are not painful, just uncomfortable. I am fedup of this pregnancy lark already though

lisad123 · 09/07/2007 08:58

Morning all

I have to say the last time i had a drink was on holiday, hmm archers and lemonade, and felt rotton in the morning, i havent had anything stronger than tea since God im sad!!

My bump feels high up but dd sat there the whole time last time and never engaged at all, she was stuck under my ribs! so uncomfetable. This LO is the same, although do feel flabbery elsewhere but i was a size 12 last time i got preggy and this time im a .... well not gonna say

No news from Buffy, hope she's ok. Maybe she has been resting, and forgotten us all. I had a rotton nights sleep again. Anyone got any hints?? Please.

I have DD at home today, so have activities we can do in house and garden today, hopefully shewont keep asking to go out, my wheelcahir is like a tank! LOL

Lisa

muppetgirl · 09/07/2007 09:06

Hi all, my bump is muvh lower down than last time, braxtons been on/off for a while now but hten they were quite powerful last time just not so early.

Had first attack of the acid's last night sent dh downstairs for gavascon then was much better. Back aches now -again earlier than last time. Fed up with peoplsaying 'not long now eh?' (I'm only 23 weeks officially) and then they are embarrassed that they've just called a pregnant woman, well, basically -fat!

I have started getting cramp in my hips when in bed now. Last night I had to go and sleep in the spare room (thought I would let DH have at least one good nights sleep) I was just so hot and uncomfortable, I had the windows wide open and no covers and was just about comfortable then. Still woke up at 1am 3.30am 5.30am and 7am though

Pheebe · 09/07/2007 10:38

Lisa - try this...I well and truly propped myself up last night, 3 pillows laid normally then 2 more to make a v shape with me snuggled in the middle, another pillow under my knees. Had the first decent nights sleep in weeks, no bad dreams, no waking up from sps and achy hips and no heartburn!!! I've also been sleeping on top of the duvet with a blanket over me for ages as well which really helped with the over heating. Best of all DH said I didn't snore yipee!! he's had the spare room bed set up for ages now just in case but, bless im, he says he doesn't like leaving me on my own awwww

After weeks of feeling really proud that I didn't seem to be gaining weight (don't weigh myself cos of previous borderline eating disorder) I now feel like a huge fat waterlogged blob! DS lifted my top up this morning and prodded my flabby tummy skin for me which seems to hang down and flap about like a little curtain at the moment ewwwwwwwww Seriously considering a tummy tuck once this ones born. Mind you he did then tell me how much he loved me and his little brother so what do I care

Right, back to work for me

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/07/2007 11:08

Any of you thats want or need a laugh I have just posted latest photo of me and the ever expanding bump lolol please be gentle with me xxx

MrsFish · 09/07/2007 11:43

How many weeks are you now? I was going to do the same, but need DH to take the pic, my bump feels huge too and really low slung, but I am short and dumpy with it, at least you look slim everywhere else

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/07/2007 11:48

MrsFish,
I am 26 weeks now, I have not put any weight on anywhere but my belly lol....so different to when I was pg with my ds1 i looked like a ball lmao

Pheebe · 09/07/2007 12:02

TLE - thats a lovely bump mines huge n hard at the top and flabby like a dangly curtain underneath no way am I taking a photo of that!!!

Pheebe · 09/07/2007 12:10

muppet - thats unbelievable!! Nothing on earth would induce me to unbuckle on the M25. I'd rather bub howled for britain than risk growing up without a mum. We live near Birmingham and the number of families we see driving around with several kids climbing around in the car, no seat belt, no proper seat, nothing, is scary.

My SIL moved her Dd up to a car seat that the child needed to be 15kg or more to use when her DD was only just over 10!! usually I don't say anything, its just not worth it, but I had to tell her I thought she was nuts and explained why - there just isn't enough weight to activate the seatbelt in an accident and her DD might as well have been wearing nothing.

lisad123 · 09/07/2007 13:11

My god madness. I hate m25 anyway. I have 2 seats for Tanisha, one is a high back booster the other is her 5 point, huge britax one. I was going on holiday and asked dh to put the huge seat in, no idea why. Wouldnt normally, as big seat stayed in dh car and booster in mine. Guess what! ended up in pile up with us trapped between a van and astra, and one car transporter!! I came off worse. All the doors bunkled and the back seats were pushed forward and out, dd had a bruise on her foot, that was all!! I had broken bones, burns, major back problems and nerve damage. Seat really do save lifes

As for the sleep thing, i had 3 pillows last night and my V shaped bean pillow too

Hope youre all ok

L

FloriaTosca · 09/07/2007 13:13

Unbelievable Muppet! If they are expecting a demand feed like hte M25 one why dont they express before the trip and give it in a bottle to keep them pacified? Or perhaps as a first timer I'm being over simplistic?

FloriaTosca · 09/07/2007 13:38

Pheebe; I'm fine thanks for asking, it was just over indulgence on Saturday The little and often rule is definately the most sensible; is a pity my eyes are even greedier than my belly [hangs head in shame smiley]If it is any consolation my bump looks just like you have described...I lost 4 1/2 st 7 years ago and the loose skin never totally disappeared,so mine now does the curtain thing too [pulling face smiley]. Same thing happened to a pal of mine...her birth plan read; "as natural as possible, drugs as and when required, c-section only if the surgeon does abdomenoplasty at the same time" I'm with you in the queue for the abdomenoplasty! One plus point for the excess skin at the moment; I havent got any new stretch marks as yet , just the old ones from when I was a size 24...infact my tummy button is still and "inny" so I reckon I've got another month or twos room in there!

dal21 · 09/07/2007 14:02

one of the first things I cannot wait for post pregnancy is a nice slap up meal with some nice cocktails! have abstained totally since finding out pregnant (thats just me, not judging others )

then come home and go to sleep on my stomach. bliss!

Pheebe · 09/07/2007 14:17

awww sleeping on tummy, think that might be the hardest thing to have to give up during pregnancy. That and prawns!

muppetgirl · 09/07/2007 14:22

Hi all,
Really sorry to hear about the car crash Lisa, put it all into perspective really.

It just nade my blood boil that someone could be so bl**dy stupid!! Or (on the flip side) is it a case of the 'right on' b/f brigdade v. the 'demand feeding' fiends?

I am all for breastfeeding but really is it too much to make the baby wait 10 mins to get to the next service station??

(I have bottle fed during a traffic jam and wouldn't condone others for feeding whilst stuck in one -especially round the m25 or m6 but apparently dh/p was driving 70mph!!)

Ah and a nice g&t would be lovely + another + another....

OP posts:
PolarMummy · 09/07/2007 14:41

MG while you are pouring those G&T's you wouldn't mind pouring me a nice big glass of full bodied red wine? (I am starting to drool at the very thought of it) Like yourself Dal21 I have abstained too, no judging of others here either I am just a really light weight drinker and 1 glass of wine can have a big effect on me DH refers to me as his Cheap date

muppetgirl · 09/07/2007 14:59

me to pm. I am missing my pimms....
And , this is a little surprising as I'm normally such a genteel 'gal. A nice pint of lager shandy.....

GET ME ONE NOW!!!!!

Anyone heard from buffy?

OP posts:
FloriaTosca · 09/07/2007 15:00

Polar;Ditto!..I cant take my alcohol at the best of times either and yes, Dh has always said I was a cheap date too! But I have had the odd glass of wine, on my birthday etc ... I think I've had about 3 in the last 6 months!
My big thing to give up was Tournedos Rossini (medium rare fillet steak on pate on a croute with a slice of truffle and maderia sauce!)which both my brother and I usually choose for our birthdays, its just not the same well done without the pate...and I miss prawns...and torte dolcelatte cheese! Ho Hum!
