Fantastic news indigatio!!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and hope not too much ms, tiredness or grumps...

yummymummylu · 06/07/2007 16:40

Hi I was wondering whether I could join in the thread?

Am due on the 18th Feb and am feeling so rough!

Got a DS aged 10months so am waiting for the WTF questions from friends and family!!!

How's everyone else feeling?

xxx

CountTo10 · 06/07/2007 19:38

Welcome yummy!! Mutha - that's fab news and inidg - a romantic baby for you!!!

I woke up with a burst of energy this morning but that had all but gone by 10am!!! Didn't stop me from tucking into a rather yummy sausage sandwich though!!

Having pizza tonight although I'm worried the minute I smell it I'll want to bring it straight back up!!!

Had a bit of a nightmare with ds today. He was messing about and as I was telling him to calm down he kicked me straight in the stomach. i really shouted at him then got all upset and started crying!!! He just looked at me like I'd arrived from another planet - why are you crying mummy? Mummy's just feeling tired!!! Felt awful bless him!!!

Redbush · 06/07/2007 20:01

Hi Everyone just caught up on all the news. I don't have a scan until 9th August which seems an age away and we're paying for that one. Having slightly paranoid day - nobody at work knows I'm pg and realised today somebody had switched a machine on on the other side of a screen that I shouldn't really be in the field of!! Also went in a steam room when beanie was just getting started (had done an ovulation test that month that said I didn't ovulate so didn't think there was any reason not too!) so worrying about that again. Pregnancy doesn't feel very real at all at the moment. MIL's birthday tomorrow so have to go out to lunch with all DH's family and nobody knows - just a bit grumpy right now but really shouldn't be as we're on holiday for the next week. Off to West Wales for a few days so really hoping weather is a bit better. Bought DD1 her first pair of wellies today!

Bumblesmum interested that they've told you you'll have more scans because of you underactive thyroid - I have the same but I only had one extra scan because they thought babe was a bit big. As the babies get bigger it's harder to find out the sex.

Hope everybody has a fab weekend and gets some R&R time!

leesmum · 06/07/2007 21:01

OH NO... have just weighed myself, and have put on about 1/2 stone.BLOODY HELL!! i'm going to be enormous.

Last time i stepped on scales was earlier on in year and i was 9st which is about right for me cos i'm only 5ft 4ins, i'd better stop stuffing my face with anything i can find.

PLEASE tell me if some of you ladies are also larding it up or is it just me??

Have great weekend everyone xx

CountTo10 · 06/07/2007 21:05

I am slowly turning into a large unit. Several people have already guessed I'm pg and it was the weight gain that did it. One of them said well you're just not a fluctuator!!! If I go on at this rate it's gonna take more than childbirth and weightwatchers for me!!!

alkar · 07/07/2007 06:44

You are not alone leesmum I have also put on 1/2 stone already!

Came back to work this week after some time off and everybody now knows I am pregnant. I am really angry that someone (a man)thinking they knew has taken it upon themselves to tell everyone, its unbelievable. All because the guy in question is worried he may now have to work Christmas day!!!!!

Got my 12 wk scan apt for 23/7 but DH is now saying he might not be able to make it so I might have to wait another week.

Anyway only another hour to go - hate nightshifts.

smithfield · 07/07/2007 09:11

Morning guys

Feel shattered this morning. Ds woke at 5am then 7am...Thank goodness he fell back to sleep til half 8. Think Im coming down with something now too as both DH and DS are sick At least Dh is only working til 2 today. But hell prob come back to both me and ds in our jimjams

indignatio congrats on your scan

yummy welcome we have the same edd! 10 months yikes!

counttoten my LO tends to kick when I am changing him sometimes. Its the one time I REALLY shout, makes me feel guilty afterwards but I feel Ive got to make him learn its not ok, especially now

Redbush whats wrong with a steam room? You have me worried now, I went in one too at the v beginning before I knew I was pg.

Re weight- hmmm. Oh yes I can relate

lljkk · 07/07/2007 14:55

Sauna/steam room (or any hot place) is only an issue if you get dehydrated and overheated -- you would also feel just dreadful yourself if there was harm done to the fetus. There's an article on netdoctor which basically says the proven risk is negligible.

smithfield · 07/07/2007 15:19

Thanks lljkk. Phew...1 less thing to worry about huh.

Where is everybody?

lljkk · 07/07/2007 15:30

All gone to London to watch the Tour prologue! (I wish I were there, it's on ITV4). I might see DH and 2 of the DC who went to watch in person.

I only came on to moan about how awful I feel. First 14 weeks of pregnanacy all you get is awful symptoms and worry about m/c (moan, moan, moan, moan...)

All the chat about "cravings" made me want to laugh hysterical -- I struggle to find any food that doesn't make me feel worse. I'm on... soymilk, muesli, a little fruit, a little meat or fish, mayonaise, rye bread, nuts, ginger tea and beer, wraps, potatoes, a little cauliflower....and that's about it. Am on the verge of giving up on food altogether.

Ate 3 prunes this morning which seemed okay at the time (didn't make me feel sick). But later I was feeling AWFUL, until (ahem) I went to the toilet 4 hours later. I suppose nausea is partly due to overcrowding in lower abdomen.

MOAN, moan, MOAN...

Slacker · 07/07/2007 16:29

Had a scan this morning - have been so worried that this is 5th baby yet still fit into jeans, not sick etc, so DH took it upon himself to book me a scan just to stop me moaning! But nothing to worry about - little 10 week bean looks perfect. Have told my kids now as well. 6yo was so excited, he's too impatient to wait till Feb!

CountTo10 · 07/07/2007 19:55

I'm quite bulked up and overcrowded lljkk which means that every few days I feel really sicky and lethargic. Took me a while to work out what was going on. I think you can take senakot though so I might have to resort to that as the mere thought of prunes is enough to make me vomit!!!!

CountTo10 · 07/07/2007 19:55

Congrats on the scan btw slacker - can't wait for mine - only 2 weeks!!

morningglory · 08/07/2007 14:33

Nothing much to report here. Nausea has quieted down over the past 4 days (thank God). Still have the reassuring background nausea, but the awful, debilitating type has gone. Trick was to find something I could eat, and now that I found something, I'm OK. I'm just eating lots of clear broth noodle soups, and vietnamese food.

Good thing, too that I can now eat. Hubby surprised me this weekend with a quick evening trip to the Manoir aux Quat Saisons and I was actually able to eat my entire Degustation Menu (hah! The other good thing about being pregnant is that I eat lots more. In my non-pregnant state, I'm only able to nibble at the 10 courses. This time, I was licking the plates clean!). It was such a relaxing evening being childless(DS was being taken care of my my brother, who, despite being a single man, is a great babysitter!). Slept in until 10:30 with a scrummy breakfast in bed, then drove back to London.

Have another scan tomorrow to date the pregnancy ( a private scan). Am a bit jittery because tomorrow is the anniversary of the beginning of my spotting with my mc. Well, hopefully everything is fine and I can be even more relaxed.

Hope everyone had a good weekend, and enjoyed the fleeting good weather!

mutha2beagain · 08/07/2007 15:41

morning glory good to hear that you've found something appetising - know what you mean about Asian broth - miso soup has suddenly cropped up on my craving list.

Hopefully the Manoir's degustation menu won't become a food fixation - things could get a bit expensive!!

Good luck with scan tomorrow - fingers crossed for you

Egg · 08/07/2007 17:18

Thought I came here yesterday to say hello and that am back from week away and all is well (as far as I know...), but it seems I failed to post message. Anyway, soooo much to catch up on, lots of new ladies, welcome to all of you, and such a relief to find no bad / sad news. Congrats to all who have had scans too, I now have 12 days til my next one and can't wait. Keep worrying that even if one is ok, the other might not be etc etc.

Will read all threads properly and try to catch up on everyone's news.

Egg · 08/07/2007 17:19

MorningGlory - good luck tomorrow .

gingermumi · 08/07/2007 17:36

Welcome and congrats to all new to thread.

MG- goodluck tomorrow.

Was feeling better so decided on shopping trip with dd2 and gardening. Ha! That'll teach me, have felt really crap and pukey today. House slightly more in order, just needs a bit of a hoover etc before mw comes on tuesday.

Last time i checked my weight i too had put on half a stone and that was over a week ago. Too scared to look now!

CountTo10 · 08/07/2007 19:51

Hello, well for the first time for a long while I have actually felt great today. Apart from a spell round lunch when i was a bit tired and put my feet up for a bit, I've felt great all day. No nausea, no zombieness it's great. have got loads done and am very cheery so at last, maybe this is a sign that things are going to get better soon!!!

Good luck tomorrow mg x

rozzyraspberry · 08/07/2007 20:09

Just a quick post to say congratulations to all those new to the post and those who have had reassuring scans!

I've got my scan date for 30th July. So only 3 more weeks to wait!!

I am still really inconsistent with the nausea. Some days it's not too bad and others, like yesterday, I just want to curl up and sleep. Can't complain on the whole though. Never suffered too much with ms in previous 2 pregnancies and if anything it's better this time. Just hope it doesn't mean anythings amiss! Still suffering from paranoia!!!

Glad everything is going ok for everyone else.

Egg · 08/07/2007 20:13

I think someone ages ago made a comment that if you keep busy, you feel better. On the days where I go out and do nice things, I feel ok, and it is only when I am home feeling sorry for myself that I feel like cack...

Having said that, been out and about a lot today and felt ok but do feel like death now. Hopefully will sleep like a log tonight .

pobletsmum · 08/07/2007 21:11

Egg - I agree. If I keep busy, I feel much better than if I stay at home, BUT I think I suffer later if I'm too busy e.g. today, we took DS to the zoo, so lots of walking, no midday nap for me, and I was relatively OK. However since we got home at 4.30, I've been absolutely useless. I've got a splitting headache, I'm exhausted and I feel really sick. It's the same on work days. I try to catch up on non-work days, hence taking naps when I can, but it's very tempting to call in sick...
