Bumblesmum · 05/07/2007 14:29

Hello again, this is difficult trying to type messages whilst at work.
lljkk
Yes this is my first time! about time some would say as I have been married for 7 yrs!

I had my booking in with M/W the other day, I can't wait to get my scan date.

Smithfield
I am hoping not to find out the sex. But I have an underactive thyroid, and I have been told that I will need more scans towards the end of my pregnancy so it might be a little bit unavoidable.

Ladies.
Thank you for your advice on the shopping front, I know deep down that I should'nt
go over the top yet, I just can't help myself.

Samsmam
Hello, I wondered what time you would appear today. You told me it was addictive! I cannot stop logging on to look.

Jo9977 · 05/07/2007 15:45

Welcome Bumblesmum!

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow indignatio - is it your first scan? Let us know how it goes.

lljkk - understand wanting to wait but I've had a scan already (and gone through a week of worry 'cos it was too early), but if there's anything wrong now I want to know asap and I get the impression there's not a lot of difference in what you see between 10 and 12 weeks. I dunno, everyone's different and probably the same people are different depending on what minute of the day it is!!!

smithfield · 05/07/2007 16:41

Yes goodluck for tommorrow indignatio let us know how it goes!

miniandme · 05/07/2007 18:40

I booked my 4d scan for the 3rd of november !! So will find out then the sex of the baby ,will have the other 3 kids with us as well so really looking forward to it !

CountTo10 · 05/07/2007 19:06

Hello! I just keep looking at the never ending washing and ironing!! I just can't face any of it. Hmmmm not sure that's all pg related though!!! Can't wait to have that bit of energy back. Ds is being very funny at the moment and is just content to walk round in wellies and red pants though so at least he doesn't need too much entertaining this week!!!

Thanks for all the advice re the screening tests by the way. It's so good getting other people's points of view who are in the same position!!

We're not going to find out what we're having - although i am far more tempted this time round strangely. I knew from very early on with ds and didn't ask at all when he was born as I just knew it was a boy. have similar instincts it's a girl this time round but still a little unsure. not helping that I'm already getting the, 'ooo I bet you want a girl this time round' - well actually I would just like a healthy child if it's all the same!!!

Bambiraptor · 05/07/2007 19:19

Hi. Can i join this thread? I have just found out I am expecting no.3 at the end of Feb 08.

Mines was Cheese in any form has now swapped to peanut butter which incidentally is exactly the same as was with my dd

Bambiraptor · 05/07/2007 19:45

I am not 100% sure of due date but think this is right. I will have to wait for my 12 week scan.
To be honest I can't beleive I am pregnant. Dh and I had just about decided to stop at two. We were not careful just one time after too many glasses of wine.
I am over the moon now though. It must be meant to be.

Thanks for link mini.

Welcome and congrats to newbies

On subject of sex - baby's, not doing it! . I want to know but dh doesn't, i will convince him though!

Am still tired and CBA is my motto! I pay dd2 to do ironing and she will hoover if asked so i'm quite lucky really. Apart from that i'm afraid house looks a bit of a mess, mw coming on tues, hope she doesn't look too closely! When i had dds mw used to inspect house to see if it was fit to bring a baby to (standard practice at time - no, i'm not superslob!) - is that still the case now? I really hope not. DD1 is in process of moving out (goes tomorrow ) and into student house so there are bags of clothes, rubbish, 'things' everywhere. DD2 is moving into her room so she is spreading stuff everywhere too. 'Homely', i think is best way to describe my house at mo!

Anyone else permanently starving? Have been so hungry today

gingermumi · 05/07/2007 20:06

Mutha - cut and paste list into message text box and then add yourself at the relevant due date point

CountTo10 · 05/07/2007 20:11

Ahhh Mutha - that's my birthday!!!

Gingermumi - I eat all the time. People who don't know I'm pg at work must think I'm a total pig!!!

I had some early cravings a few weeks back - suddenley liked marmite. Loving chocolate of course. I've gone off things more really. Not liking greasy chips or smell of fried food. Not liking chicken either or ham. I had a craving for cheese last time. In my last month I ate nothing really but cheese and tomato sandwiches and strangely i didn't pick up on it until afterwards!!!

Can't beleive I'm 10 weeks tomorrow. Suddenley sounds really massive!!!

miniandme · 05/07/2007 20:15

Me too im 10 weeks tomorrow its great eh !

As for mw inspectnig the house i dont remember them being like that when i had dd whos 4.
Wish i could pay one of mines to do the ironing lol but ds1 whos 11 is severely autistic ,ds2 is away at my brothers and too young anyway at 9 and dd only 4 so its down to me !

CountTo10 · 05/07/2007 20:21

Midwife said nothing about my place and neither did the health visitor and had they done they'd have got a rather large off from me!!! Midwife didn't come round till after anyway cause appts weren't done at home then. Think things have 'relaxed' on that kind of thing. Obviously if your house resembled something from How Clean is your House, they might say something but I doubt they're gonna care about 'homeliness'!!! And if they do, then perhaps they won't mind coming round and helping you out

pobletsmum · 05/07/2007 20:31

Hi everyone,

Had my booking appt today. Took about 1 1/2 hrs, and after worrying about not liking my midwife (I saw her a couple of times during 1st pg and didn't like her at all), I'm very relieved. She was lovely. She gave me loads of time and we went through DS' birth & stuff. She's very happy for me to consider a C-section and was almost encouraging it. I'm not sure it's what I will want, but it's nice to know I have her support either way.

I've added mutha to the list, and updated Ds' age. Now I'm off to glug Gaviscon...

Just had 9 week scan - all in order baby has quadrupled in size - and I'm now officially discharged from EPU - hurrah!

Obstetrician was a bit rough with the probe though - ouch, and he was peering at the screen not saying a word for at least 5 minutes - dh was getting worried - don't you just hate that?

Next stop at the GP and I guess booking in with midwife.

Now back to the serious business of eating for two and steadying myself through the sicky bits.

xx

smithfield · 06/07/2007 10:47

Mutha Thats great news

Lucy I am totally with you! My Mc is back with a vengeance. But I know I would only be more stressed if it wasnt.

As for cravings- last time was cheese, cheese, cheese. Phase of black grapes...? and Chunky caramel kit-kats.
This time...not really any so far. In fact Im having trouble fancying any sort of food.

BTW-anyone sick of this weathergrrrr

smithfield · 06/07/2007 10:49

Yuck...just reading that back is making me ill

Jo9977 · 06/07/2007 11:02

Great news Mutha!

and welcome to all the newcomers!!

As for cravings...well anything edible really

Have got MIL coming round tomorrow for the weekend - she's Italian, bit scary and has more energy than me and dh together...oh, and she loves cleaning, washing and ironing! Used to be a bit intrusive but I'm learning to accept all the help now!
Would anyone like to hire her out once she's finished round ours???

mutha2beagain · 06/07/2007 12:00

Jo9977 great to have a mother in law who's passionate about housework - mine's from Lancashire and there's just no stopping her.

If you want to send yours round to mine to fill my fridge with nice Italian homemade food you're on!

Have a lovely weekend everyone

samsmam · 06/07/2007 13:14

Think it would take a miracle to make me passionate about housework! DP is really good at housework, I do the basics and he always does the 'proper' clean!

Anyone heard from Egg-hope all is well there?

I made my booking in appointment today with midwife for 24th July, seems like ages away but time will fly.

Feeling really, really tired today, wish there was someone to look after LO just for an hour so that I can sleep. She may go to sleep in a while so I'll snatch that opportunity.

Have a good weekend all.
