I'm new to this thread but have been dropping in for a wee while. Been great to know that I'm not a hypochondriac and that others are feeling stabs and winges too!!

I'm 28 and due on the 16th of Feb with my first baby. Next scan is on the 4th of October but in Aberdeen they refuse to tell you the sex of the baby so guess I'll either have to wait til February or else get a scan done privately. Can't make up my mind if I want to know or not. Hubby would love to know though!

Does anyone know of somewhere I can get large size maternity bras? Have gone from a DD to an H cup already!!

amy78, congrats on the big boobs! i got two non underwired bras for £10 from marks & spencers. It's best to wait til later (bout 35 weeks) before getting fitted for nursing bra if you're planning on breastfeeding.

Hi all.

Had my 2nd scan today and everything looked fine. After not finding out the sex with our first 2 children we decided to find out this time. Boy number 3 for us! I thought I didn't mind what the sex was but I'm ashamed to say I am feeling a bit disappointed at the moment. The thought of having a baby boy is still exciting but the fact that I'll never have a little girl (definitely last baby for us) is quite sad for me as I'm really close to my mum and would have liked to have a daughter myself. Anyway I'm sure I'll be fine in a few days and know once he arrives I'll be glad to have my three boys!

I haven't posted for a while, but nothing much has changed for me. I still have nausea; heartburn is getting worse but on a brighter note, I have been feeling the baby move. My AFP results came back low risk too, so that's a relief.

Even when I'm not posting, I'm usually checking in every few days, so I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's news.

Hi all, finaly found a bit of spare time to post on this thread. I am almost 15 weeks preg with DC3, have a DD 20 months and a DS 6 months. DC3 is due 29th Feb. Second scan not till 23 Oct. I found out the sexes of both prior kids and am thinking i might want a suprise although things tend to change when you are looking at that monitor!!

I am currently posting on the Postnatel thread for babies born last March so will be flitting in and out! Have skimmed through the recent posts and notice theres a few sets of twins!! Theres also two sets in RL here due around the same time, mustve been something in the water!
Hope to keep up with you all and will try and post when i can.

Anyone in Notts or surrounding area?

Eeek, got my scan on monday first thing and I'm really looking forward to it. Baby is moving so much now that other people can feel it (DH gets kicks in the back at night in bed and I get kicked all day long)
Heartburn has really started to flare up again and my chewy rennies aren't helping at all - any really good suggestions? I tend to get it just before bed and it is really bothering me, I get my sleep interrupted enough by DD!

Hi Jaysthird, was wondering how you could be 15 weeks when I'm 20 and still be due the same month! Welcome to the thread, it does seem to be a bit quiet, goes in phases though. Will be time for a new thread very soon as I don't think you can go past 1000 posts on one thread.

Welcome back Egg, glad the move went well. Winchester was on our list of possible places to move to, I'm sure you'll be very happy to have moved out of London!

Well I just had my scan this morning, and I have one very healthy looking baby, yay! Although there was a loop of cord in the way she thought it looks like a BOY - which is what the scanner at 12 weeks said too - so my DD will be seriously outnumbered with 4 brothers! Ah well, she's just excited to be having a baby. I'm not going to be going mad buying baby stuff anyway, but I expect one or two blue outfits might come my way!

Anyway it's a beautiful sunny day here in Somerset so I'm off to enjoy it - have a good weekend everyone!

Is anyone keeping a weekly record of their bump?? I have been getting dp to take a weekly picture of my bump and posting online so i have a record of how much i have grown and something to look back on too.I never had any pictures of me expecting the other 3 so this is kinda nice
Have felt both babies moving and heard both heartbeats,in fact was lying in bed last night listening to them with dp!!Very reassuring to hear them chugging along in there and amazing how high up i can now get the heartbeats.
Got 20 wk scan on wednesday so will find out the flavours of the beans then ,cant wait am getting very excited and impatient!!Kids off school monday and tuesday too so not even got school runs and such to occupy my mind !!!!!

and Hi miniandme - i believe we're both expecting twins and also both in the Lothian area, and was interested to read that you'll get to find out the flavours soon.
It just that someone told me they dont tell you flavours in this catchment area, do'you think they were talking sh*te?
I been asking at scans but its a wee bit early and i've been getting the polite brush-off.
Are you getting seen at RIE? I've had one visit there and due another scan next week, as currently one twin is a bit wee........
Just wondered how you rate the care at RIE if you go there?

Hello ladies and congrats on more successful scans.

Rozzy hope you are not too disappointed. I always said I wanted three boys and although would have happily stuck at two I will be delighted if there are two more lads in my belly to join DS. Having said that, I will be feeling a bit like you if it is two girls... I know I will be happy and grateful they are (fingers crossed) ok but am sure a tiny bit of me will be disappointed.

Miniandme - I am still not 100% sure I feel both babies... I probably do but if I didn't know it was twins I dont think I would have guessed from the movements. Dory moves a lot. Nemo seems a bit quiet and never moves at same time as Dory, so I always think it could just be Dory's feet moving...

Slacker - Am definitely pleased to be out of London and in Winchester. DS loves it here and it is just so friendly and 'nice'! No regrets at all.

Lightwind - I was in Putney when I had DS and I signed up for NCT classes (which were in Wimbledon). There were five classes (I think) which were 10am to 3pm, then one evening class with partners as well. Teacher was a bit of a space cadet but it was good as I made some FAB friends. Your midwives should be able to tell you about local NHS ones though.

Lucyand2, Gaviscon is best for heartburn in my opinion. Safe in pregnancy and can be liquid or tablets. Just swig from the bottle!

Ladlemonke i am getting all my care at st johns and yes they tell the flavour if they can see it,and tend to tell for multiples too.
egg my twins are lying side by side as opposed to on top of each other,think thats why its so easy to tell which one is moving,also explains the side ways expansion

Silly me I just for some reason presume that mine are side by side, but actually I am expanding outwards not sideways so they may well be on top of each other (did not even think of that...). Anyway, all will be revealed on THURSDAY! Woohooooooooooo.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing ok!
I am doing great. Haven't felt the baby move yet but then it is my first one after all! Got the "big" scan booked for exactly 20 weeks! yay!!!!!!!! Does anyone else talk to their bump? its like being a kid again and having an imaginary friend!!!!

Hehe, I don't talk to the bump so much this time but I did last time a lot. I still have the odd word with them, especially Nemo to tell him/her to get moving around...

I am so chuffed because when I say to DS (nearly 19 months) "what's mummy got in her tummy" he says "beebees". He can't really talk at all yet and is only just finding his first words so it makes me well up! He even kisses them. He also has Nemo and Dory stuffed toys that he cuddles a lot. Ahhhhhh.

I talked loads to my bump last time and even missed it once ds was born - mad I know!! This time it's taken me a bit longer - more distractions but I do talk to them, more when I'm on my own though!!

Can't get over how expensive maternity swimwear is - anyone know of anywhere (other than Next) that sells it at a reasonable price?

Oooh I had fish and chips last night too - SOOOO Yummy . Have stopped eating everything I see now and am on a serious fruit and veg splurge (apart from the fish n chips!). What's this about the government giving pregnant ladies more money for healthy food (been in news this week?) Sounds good to me...

Went to Blooming Marvellous yesterday - there were some swimmers there reduced and there are a couple on their website in the sale.

Have added some details to factoids below - can't wait til scan in less than two weeks. DP is convinced it is a boy so we'd better find out in case its a girl. I'd love either but am swayed by him as it seems to be v important to men to have boys?
