Thought I'd better pop in and change my due date/username in the list! (Formerly Lucylou)
Everything is fine, I'm feeling the baby move lots at the moment and Dp has felt it too. Very exciting! I am finally getting my 16 week appointment tomorrow, I should be booked in for my 20 week scan and have my bloods done but knowing my care so far anything could happen!
Hello to everyone new and I'm glad everyone is doing well on this lovely bank holiday!

Cornish Kitten-Its Rhesus negative that you get the injection . I am RH- and had the injection after my daughter was born and she had been blood grouped, so I don't think you actually have to have the injections during pregnancy, that is new, you can wait and have them afterwards still and I have chosen to do this again as my midwife was of the opinion it made no difference at all.

Welcome to jooseyfruit!

Hello everyone else. I hope you've all been enjoying the bank holiday sunshine.

CountTo10 · 27/08/2007 19:30

Realised I hadn't updated my due date!! Hope everyone is well and has enjoyed the sunshine!! I'm getting slight movements too which is great as it's that daily reassurance!!! I've got my 20 wk scan at end of Sept. Things seem to be going a little more quickly now which is nice!! Getting excited about the next few months. Ds is 3 next mth so getting ready for his birthday and then it will be time to get ready for xmas (sorry my fave time of year!!!) and then I'll be giving up work and on count down!!! By which point I will be the size of the xmas turkey no doubt!!! I am definitely padding out a lot more than I did last time.

CountTo10 and Beansprout, our boys will be 3yrs old at about the same time, do you know what you're getting them yet?

I have already got ds a guitar and an iron, i just know whatever we get him he will love the iron best

I think he will have a halloween/birthday party so we can all get dressed up, and maybe a couple of fireworks later, bearing in mind i haven't told dp all of my plans yet

gingermumi · 28/08/2007 16:32

Hey ladies.

Sorry I have been away for so long but it's been hard to find time to get on the computer. DH had a bit of a scare with a suspected blood clot (ambulance ride and lots more trips to hospital) but he's fine now. Still fairly immobille but has started hydrotherapy so will gradually get to do do more i guess.

There seems tbe be so much news on this thread so i wont even try to comment on what's been happening apart from saying welcome to newbies and OMG! more twins... how fabulous! We hoped we were going to have twins but we're just happy we managed to make one!

Am huge (have put on a stone and a half already - but some of that will be the fibroid - honest!). Still sick sometimes, and still tired but i try not to be too moany as it seems ungratfeul when we wanted baby so much. Have 20 week scan on 10th September and will be finding out pink or blue - am really looking forward to it - i love going for scans! Movements about the same - little prods - did have one really forceful one the other day but apart from that nothing that dh can feel.

Will try to post more often now that things are more settled. Good to be back!

rozzyraspberry · 28/08/2007 19:18

Hi everyone.

Gingermum - I'm glad everything is settling down for you - hopefully your dh will be well recovered before your lo arrives.

Hi to all those who've joined us since I last posted.

Leesmum - my ds2 is also almost 3 - his birthday is 28th October. No idea what to get him - he gets a lot of his big brothers hand me down toys and they have so much between them! Also have ds1 birthday on 2nd December so it's a busy time. DH birthdays in November and mines in December so not very good planning here!!

I have my 19 week scan on the 14th September which I'm looking forward to. I have quite a bump this time which I suppose is to be expected given how knackered my stomach muscles are! My boss asked me today when I planned to finish up which made it seem very real!

Hope everyone is doing well!

beansprout · 29/08/2007 08:26

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Hello to all the newbies too - you are very welcome!

Gingermumi - so sorry to hear dh has been unwell again, best wishes to you both and hope he is feeling better soon. You seem remarkably chilled in the circumstances, I type in admiration!

Leesmum and Countto10 - I was just thinking about what to get ds for his birthday... but have no idea tbh! Will ask my friends who have Oct '04 boys too and see what they come up with!

Ok here, a bit up and down with dh at the moment but I suspect that's not unusual in the circumstances. We are both a bit daunted by the prospect of number 2 at the moment. My dsd's visit (which I posted about last week) has been reduced from 2 weeks to 5 days, so that is feeling a lot more manageable. I'm feeling ok in myself, am sleeping a bit better and don't feel sick anymore, so am enjoying this, relatively easy bit of the pregnancy. Am 18 weeks today - eek!!

beansprout · 29/08/2007 08:40

Btw, I still have some B6 (about half a bottle) that helped with my morning sickness. If anyone still has MS and would like it, please let me know.

Lucyand2 · 29/08/2007 08:56

Okay, I need everyones opinions on what to do about my GP's. I visited yesterday for my 16 week appointment (at 17 weeks) and saw yet another midwife. The permanent midwife has been away ill so they've been drafting cover in from everywhere. This midwife was much better than the last but she still had no clue why I was there. We did my bloods and got round to booking my 20 week scan (11th september, yey!) which took nearly 30 mins as she didn't know where anything was. She then asked about why I hadn't had a dating scan as it turns out I was meant to have one after all! I was never told about them, never booked in for one and the 2 people I asked told me I didn't get one! Something has obviously gone wrong somewhere and it is really irritating me, I'm also wondering if this has happened to anyone else at the same GP's.
When are you normally booked in for a 12 week scan? Also, is it worth making any kind of complaint?
Sorry for the ranting, it is just really bothering me that I nearly had to go private because of their mistake.

beansprout · 29/08/2007 09:30

I think it would be worth writing to the practice manager. There are various tests that you should have by 13 weeks that you will have missed out on (e.g. nuchal fold, which is done at the scan). They really have messed up, you shouldn't have to battle just to get the appointments you need.

I would ask what their guidelines are for referrals and quite clearly ask for their response to this.

mummylittle · 29/08/2007 10:13

violeta · 29/08/2007 11:58

Welcome mummylittle and all other newbies!

I'm now coming up to 15 weeks and still getting morning sickness though just in the morning (so it's living up to its name now at least!). It's only every now and then, but wondering if anyone else is still getting it?

It's not bothering me excessively; I'm just curious to see if anyone else is in the same position!

princessllama · 29/08/2007 12:34

back from holiday and finally on computer. am still getting a bit of morning sickness violetta but like you only now and then, very rarely head over the loo anymore-phew!
dd has decided to wake every night and scream, resulting in lots of grumpy arguments around midnight, not fun, bit of a low patch for dh and me. i think he's panicking about coping with increasing work plus second baby and lo who doesn't sleep.
hi littleme, i think sometimes the unplanned pg are the best planned! seems to have worked out for us for no. 1, don't know about no. 2 due only 15 months after no.1.
right going to jump into bed while i have the chance

surreygirl · 29/08/2007 13:08

Thank you for the welcome.

pobletsmum - thanks for the tip re Gaviscon. The heartburn hasn't been too bad over the last day or two but I'll bear it in mind!

Just had my 17 week appointment with my GP. All ok and I heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time on a dopler.

Lucyand2 · 29/08/2007 13:17

Thankyou beansprout, I'll look into their guidelines and I'll look on their website for an address to write to. I feel really let down by their care, I'm glad it's my second so I know more about what is supposed to happen!

Sorry to hear it's been so harsh, dearbeatrice.

Leesmum: you asked if more babies really are born near full moons. Probably an old wives tale, but then again a lot of MWs think it's true...

leesmum · 29/08/2007 21:00

DearBeatrice im so happy you are still with us even though you have been in hospital

CountTo10 · 29/08/2007 22:47

Glad you're feeling better DB and Gingermum, glad dh is a lot more settled now.

Leesmum/beansprout - we've got ds a little bike as he absolutely loves his friends. We got it in Halfords over the weekend so got quite a big discount on it luckily as they're quite expensive given how small they are!!! Probably won't get him much else other than a couple of small bits as he just gets so much stuff!! Think we're going to have a party as he's never had a proper one before and think it would do him good to have a bit of a fuss made of him!!

Now on the gaviscon daily!! Hate heartburn!! Ds keeps telling me that the baby is going to sit on his lap so he can cuddle it and watch toy story with him which will be nice for them!!!

mummylittle · 30/08/2007 09:52

Morning all, im feeling very anxious today as meeting my mw for the 1st time and having the triple test!! How long does it take for results to come back? xx

Sorry you have been so rough db, hopefully the worst is past now. Mummylittle, good luck with mw, not sure about tripple test results - it seems to very from area to area. Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions!

DB - so glad to see you back after all your sickness. It's good to her that you're feeling a little better now.

Mummylittle - I have my triple test today too. Well actually only one part because I had nuchal scan and bloods at 12 weeks so only need the part that tests for spina bifida. If I recall correctly, it took ages for my results to come by post last time (full triple test). Probably 2-4 weeks, but can't remember sorry. HOWEVER, if the results are less than favourable, my local trust rings much quicker. I hope your 1st appt goes/went well.

I hope that made sense... low risk results come by post, high risk results are telephoned through to you at home quickly (but still up to 2 weeks as have to be analysed in lab). I don't know if it's the same for every NHS trust.
