Here you go........

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lljkk · 21/08/2007 15:45

Pia, are they sure of your dates (you had a dating scan between 12-13 wks)?

Pia03hj · 21/08/2007 17:24

Yes thats the thing - they were certain of dates as I was too and the dating scan [most accurate way of telling I've been told] confirmed it too... babies growth has slowed since then and so fingers crossed its nothing too serious. My brother and I were lower birth weights as was my partner so it may all be related...or not?!

Its just strange how we are all different. My close friend who is due in mid Jan 08 is very pronounced with her bump and the baby is a week ahead on all the growth charts although her dates are confirmed...

lljkk · 21/08/2007 18:18

Pia, have they done more scans since the dating scan, or are they just measuring the fundal height and declaring it insufficient?

Sorry if questions are intrusive, just never heard of IUGR so early in pregnancy.

miniandme · 21/08/2007 18:27

[grin[ i ahev 2 in there though thats why i have such a big bump lol!!!!
Trust me id rather not it be that big at this stage but hey i bought one and got one free what can i say lol!!

rozzyraspberry · 21/08/2007 20:50

Hi everyone.

Welcome to pia. I just wanted to write a quick post to say not to worry about bump size. I was in normal clothes until around 20 weeks in my first pregnancy. A colleague was due 10 weeks after me and I spent the whole of my pregnancy being asked if we had our dates mixed up because she was so much bigger. But her baby was born 10 weeks after mine and there wasn't much difference in size. So bump size doesn't really mean anything.

I can understand you being worried with what you've been through before and I'm assuming that's why they're doing extra scans/checks? We have nothing between 12 and 19 weeks here. I sometimes wonder about the wisdom of extra tests - it seems to cause extra worry more often than not! I'm really hoping everything works out ok for you (and us all!) this time.

ladlemonke · 21/08/2007 22:15

Hello all, room for another?

I have been lurking round these parts for a few weeks since i found out i was pregnant, though i wanted some visual proof of pg before i joined in the convo's!
Well today i had 1st scan, and could see immediately that there was more than 1 in there, but bit my lip + tried to let the sonographer do her job ( i mean, what do i know, eh?). Sure enough theres twins, identical ones at that, and now i'm trying to get my head around it all...but awfy chuffed!!

Cant remember how many other twins are expected here, is it 3, 4 ?

Originally estimated due 29th Feb, but thats likely to be sooner now.

tori32 · 21/08/2007 22:35

double congrats ladlemonke!!! Hope all goes well! Good luck!

rozzyraspberry · 22/08/2007 07:48

Omg ladle - I can't believe how many sets of twins we have on here! So much for things coming in threes - that's 4 now I think. Congratulations - do you have any other lo's?

leesmum · 22/08/2007 08:20

Ladlemonke and Pia03hj welcome to the feb thread

Ladlemonke congratulations on having twins, i'm an identical twin and it's great.

Pia03hj try not to worry about the size of your baby, i know lots of women who have been told there babies were going to be very big/small and they haven't been.

I was 5 months pregnant with ds and still in size 10 but now im 17+2 and squeezing myself into size 14!!

Miniandme you are truly blooming and your children are beautifull

leesmum · 22/08/2007 08:25

By the way everyone i know its a bit early but i think title for next thread should be..

Feb 08..Twins anyone..

lljkk · 22/08/2007 09:03

latebloomer · 22/08/2007 10:17

Hi I am another new member to the Feb club - due on the 10th with my second. DS is 10 months. LATEBLOOMER because I am 39 and waited ten years lots of fertility treatment etc before we finally had our wee boy naturally!! Cant believe that I have another one on the way. Looking forward to reading your thread over the coming months.

leesmum · 22/08/2007 10:21

ExpectingKat · 22/08/2007 11:12

hiya latebloomer and congrats

mutha2beagain · 22/08/2007 13:38

Hi everyone,

Back from France now and boy have things been busy on the boards .... and dramatic to say the least!

Just so say hi to all the newbies and it's amazing how many twins this thread is having!

Mini - really sorry to hear that you had some troubles with your ex - hopefully he will stay out of your way now and you can just get on with the important business of growing your beans...and looking after your dc's

Scully - not sure if you're still checking in but really sorry to hear your news. I hope you are being well looked after and getting lots of support.

And sorry RoseQ and Violeta that you've had your own dramas to contend with - hopefully you've got the reassurances you need now and can move into Trimester 2 with a bit more ease!

Had a lovely time away in France - great to get away from this atrocious weather and feel the sun on my face. Lots of opportunity for vegging out reading books and sleeping so am very grateful for that!!!

Talking about the size issue, I've dropped 7lbs since my bfp and appetite is not that great at all - still felt quite icky on hols and trips to the local foodmarkets weren't the usual mouthwatering experiences that I'm used to. It is a bit of a concern that I'm not more "pregnant looking" but I won't speak too soon as who knows, my appetite may come thundering back with a vengeance and all doughnuts better watch their backs! Still haven't been able to stomach the idea of eating meat or much fish for that matter so still ploughing away with the fruit, veggies bread and chocs as well as having a curious craving for sorbet!

Went for my first mw appointment yesterday and got the famous bounty pack - that was exciting. Next scan booked for 12 october (will be about 22 weeks then).

Ds being very sweet and keeps asking me what is the baby doing now? And is the baby hungry or is it playing? Adorable.

Anyway good to be back and have a lovely day everyone.

Jo9977 · 22/08/2007 16:18

Welcome ladlemonke and latebloomer!

pobletsmum · 22/08/2007 18:30

hello ladlemonke and latebloomer. Another set of twins - wow! Congratulations! I like the suggestions for new thread titles.

SallyInYorkshire · 22/08/2007 19:25

Just wanted to say hi and hope you are all having a nice evening! And congrats to all those ladies with twin pgs out there! How cool that we have so many on this board!

CountTo10 · 22/08/2007 20:24

Blimey more twins!!!! And latebloomer I have just spat my tea out as when I first read your post, I read it as this was your 10th not you're due on the 10th!!!!! Can't beleive there's so many of us - having said that Feb obviously produces the best people (he he he given I am one) - either than or something about the joys of spring and all that!!!!

I seem to be slowing down on the bump front - either that or its just being swamped by my rapidly growing boobs!!! I've gone from a 36A to a 38C/D already - I wasn't this big until the end with ds so it's a bit weird - especially as people keep staring at them as they're not used to me with such big ones!!!!

Hope everyone's ok

ExpectingKat · 22/08/2007 20:50

HI all, hope everyones ok.
Went for my bookin and bloods this arvo, so was a long afternoon nearly there 2 hours, but everyone nice and got 2 here both heartbeats which was a great relief, I've been told from 20wks I shal have scan every 4 wks until 32wks. Also if I don't go into labour on my own they won't let me go past 38wks. So i feel a bit better knowing a few things.

ExpectingKat · 24/08/2007 13:16

I was just wondering, after being told by the docter that they advise to have an epi whilst havin twins, due to maybe needin intervention with birth of second baby, whether people think this is good advice and really needed?

miniandme · 24/08/2007 15:22

Ek i was also told the same thing, though am also a bit unsure havign never had an epi with any of the other 3,also am on the large side anyway so worry about the risks of intervention.Want top be able to stay up right adn on the move to give me best chance of vag delivery without hassles!

Jo9977 · 24/08/2007 16:18

Hi and bye everyone! Off on hols this weekend so have a lovely week and hope not to come back to any bad news...
