Countto10 - I'm still here. Have been hanging around most of the day cos have been feeling v. sick so useless for anything else. I'm really not sure what you should do. To be honest, I don't think you need to do anything tonight. I don't know what Drs etc. would do. Maybe arrange a scan? Listen to baby's heartbeat? I think if it was me I'd hang on till monday and try to talk to midwife. Actually I'd leave a message on mw's ansafone so they'd call me back (prob monday). Please try not to worry. You really can't do anything apart from take it easy for a couple of days and monitor the situation - pain, bleeding etc. I hope you get some reassurance from the other ladies on here.

CountTo10 · 18/08/2007 23:32

Thanks pm, you know what it's like you just want that reassurance from other people in the same situation!! It's so hard cause ds is quite a lively soul and trying to get him to understand is hard. It's not like he's doing it on purpose. I did really shout at him a while back about it which made me feel awful and I just want to avoid doing that again. I'd probably feel a lot better if I was at a stage where I was getting proper movement!! Hopefully not far off!!

leesmum · 19/08/2007 08:20

CountTo10 how are you feeling this morning?
I'm sure baby is fine but best to get checked out anyway to put your mind at ease.

I'm forever telling ds to be carefull but we've had a few jumps on the tummy and i have to resist the temptation to really shout at him, but i just keep telling him its a very small baby and he has to be carefll.

Take care

beansprout · 19/08/2007 09:04

How are you this morning Countto10? Hope you are ok. I know it's worrying but our bodies are pretty good at looking after growing babies. Lots of MNers have had various falls and bumps when pregnant and have been fine. I know I would be worrying too though so please do call your midwife if you are still uncomfortable.

Gingermumi - really glad that dh is home and getting slowly better.

Leesmum - fab dream!

Dsd is 19. Dh works full time and I work 3 days a week so I will see more of her than him!

lljkk · 19/08/2007 14:30

HI all,
if it's any help, Countto10, you hear a lot of stories about women's bumps being bounced on by older toddlers, and I've yet to hear of any damage done by it.

Has anyone else lost the skill of multi-tasking with interruptions? What I mean is, the only way you can get stuff done with small people around is with lots of interruptions. I just can't do it any more. I can still multi-task for routine jobs (school run), but I cant face the aggro of interruptions otherwise, so stuff isn't getting done... a pregnancy symptom or sign I'm getting curmegeonly and older?

pobletsmum · 19/08/2007 15:46

Countto10 - how are you today? I hope you're feeling better. I know what you mean about feeling the movements. It's an obvious sign that baby is still there & kicking! Not long now...

Well I think I may have helped to resolve my sickness problem a bit. I've been taking Sanatogen Pronatal since before conception. Last week I forgot to take them for 2 days in a row and I didn't feel as sick. I didn't take one this morning and I'm feeling much less sick. There might be nothing to it, but it's worth eliminating cos the constant nausea is REALLY getting me down. Poor DH is fed up with hearing about it. So.. has anyone ever heard of vitamins causing nausea/sickness or making it worse? Any ideas about what I should take instead to make sure that I get the nutrients the baby needs (given that my diet isn't great due to nausea)? Thanks!

RoseQuartz · 19/08/2007 16:59

Bleeding has stopped now, but rather concerned as passed something like a dark brown 'clot' of old blood early this morning.

It was just a one-off, but even so can't help worrying about it as been told that 'clots' are bad news?

Anybody have any experience of this, I am just over 14 weeks pregnant. Thanks

SallyInYorkshire · 19/08/2007 19:11

Hello!

I am a MN newbie so please bear with me ....

I am 32 yrs old, 13+5 weeks pregnant (first time mum) and mega excited about it!! Due date Feb 19th.

I seem to have outgrown all my normal clothes already... Any tips for places to get really cheap maternity clothes? especially in longer leg lengths?

beansprout · 19/08/2007 19:51

Welcome to Sally!!

Rose - I can't answer your question but hope you get some help soon. Has anyone answered on your other thread?

Poblet - I know someone who took Pregnacare on an empty stomach and it made her quite ill. Do you take it after your main meal or at another time?

I am definitely getting old - I have just phoned the police re the noisy gang sitting on my wall, racing up and down on one of those stupid tiny motorbikes

Jo9977 · 20/08/2007 11:42

Hi everyone!

So sorry to hear all the worries, bad news and problems...it's really been a tough week . Can't add anything helpful to everyone else's comments so will just echo them. Hope all those concerned have some positive news to report - thinking of you all!

Welcome to Sally! Know your problem in getting maternity wear - spent all weekend trying. Ended up in H&M where you might catch the end of a sale. Only reason I mention this is the leg lengths are fantastic (long) and I like the low cut jeans type with a huge stretchy band on top rather than just adjustable or elastic waist bands. Apart from that try Ebay or freecycle (which I haven't yet, but a friend's had some good stuff).

I'm afraid I've been sitting here quite smugly the last couple of months - a bit of nausea but no sickness, revelling in no PMT and generally feeling pretty good and upbeat...well, no longer! Have been in floods of tears most of the weekend, everyone's getting REALLY on my nerves, no-one cares or understands, grouchy, grumpy, itchy and in need of a decent drink (BUT I CAN'T!!!! ) Feels like PMT stacked up and all in one!!

Grump, grump, grump...

violeta · 20/08/2007 12:42

I know what you mean about the tears, Jo! I found myself blubbing at the X Factor and the Robert Winston documentary about children last night. Any kind of emotion, and that's enough to set me off... How embarrassing!

I also have to start the search for maternity wear as I can't wear anything now from my past life with buttons/zips. I still think I must just look a bit podgy to everyone else though!

Welcome to Sally also. You're due on my birthday!

I'm feeling better about the blood tests/statistics saga. Turns out that it was principally my HCG levels that affected the numbers - the PAPP A levels were high, not low and it is the low figure that apparently indicates abnormalities. I've also seen the nasal bone on the scan photo which, although the NHS doesn't count as part of the risk assessment as yet, is also a good sign and suggests that all is fine. I've been sent round the mill and back again emotion-wise by all of this, but feeling much better about it all now.

Hope all is well Rose, and that everyone else is also feeling upbeat.

ExpectingKat · 20/08/2007 15:16

Hi all, hope everyone is well.

Has been a while since I posted but had DH at home, so I don't get to the computer much lol.
I am just startin to get use to the fact of twins lol I've got my bookin and bloods this week and am unsure wot to excpect, will it be the same as normally or different because I am carryin twins, part of me is hopin I get a scan as carryin 2 has me worryin more and and wud put my mind at ease.

Scully, i am very sorry and my thoughts r with you.

pobletsmum · 20/08/2007 17:37

beansprout - re noisy gang - I hate confrontation but something like that would make me really cross and I'm glad you've rung the police. Does it happen a lot near you?

As for the vitamins - I always take them after food, often breakfast e.g. 2 crumpets. I haven't taken one again today, and haven't felt too awful, but don't think I can keep not taking them (IYSWIM). I think I'll try taking one with my evening meal tonight and see what happens. Evenings are my worst time for nausea so I might not be able to recognise the effects, but at least I will have taken them.

pobletsmum · 20/08/2007 17:37

Welcome to Sally!

CountTo10 · 20/08/2007 19:56

Evening!! Feeling lots better. No pain or anything. Spoke to my friend who's a midwife and she said that if I was feeling pain or experiencing bleeding etc to go to a&e but I think I'm fine. It's the shock more than anything else and I'm just being very careful not to leave myself open while ds is about!!!

Hope everyone is feeling ok at the moment and we all have better weeks!!

pobletsmum · 20/08/2007 20:33

Glad to hear things are OK Countto10

miniandme · 21/08/2007 02:37

Expectingkat im now 16 wks with my twins and can only tell you what ive been told though it may well be different in your area.
I had my routine bloods done but they dont do any abnormality bloods if that makes sense, not sure what they are all called as never had any done before, the reason they dont do these is because the readings would be way off due to there being twins.Im having a 20 week detailed scan which does basically the job of the bloods, then having a scan at 26 wks to check growth, then am to be scanned every 3 weeks from then till birth.
I'm to have steroid injections at 24 wks to help mature babies lungs just in case of any early deliveries,i dont have history of so must be a twin thing.Am to go onto iron from my mw appointment next wk even though im not anaemic, they said its inevitable i will end up at somse point again due to the twins thing as i never was in any other pgs.
The babies will grow at the same size and rate as 2 singletons till 26 wks when the growth rate slows down.Expect to be the size of a full term singley at 28 wks!
These are all the things ive been told by the consultant so far so kinda gives you a rough idea.as i say may be slightly different in your area.
These are babies 4+5 for me adn ive never had any problems whatsoever in the other 3 pgs.

ExpectingKat · 21/08/2007 08:03

Thanx miniandme, atleast it gives me sumthing to go by, I'm in the peterborough area wot about u? The twins r my 4&5 aswell no probs with last 2 just the 1st and that was high bp. So i'm keepin my fingers crossed all goes well this time. Are yours id or not, at the scan they said think mine r non id. I'm goin tomorro so i shall post wot i get told. lol and i'm already lookin quite big so i dread to think wot size i shall end up as, forget maturnity wear tents here i come!

beansprout · 21/08/2007 08:46

It's really interesting to hear what a twin pregnancy involves - hope the twin mummies are all feeling ok today.

Pobletsmum - it's not too bad where I live but this gang seem to have taken root in our street. Am too chicken to confront them (in the light of recent events) but will call the police again if I need to. Those mini-motos are subject to similar regulations as motorbikes so any kids riding them without helmet, insurance etc are automatically breaking the law. Dh is a bit liberal and anti-Asbos but my mummy instincts won't allow my nest to be disrupted!!

I checked last night and Pregnacare specifically state to take with main meal so suppose that's the thing there.

Hi to everyone else. Am at work, so, um, really should do some!!

miniandme · 21/08/2007 13:26

Im in scotland, just outside edinburgh. My twins are defo non identical, both in their own little sacs with their own placentas,dp says the each have their own little house in there lol!

miniandme · 21/08/2007 13:36

Oh and yes i know exactly what you mean about the tents !!!!
Have put a bump piccie in my profile, its huge already at 16 wks

Pia03hj · 21/08/2007 15:26

Hello - I'm a newbie so please bear with me.

Due 02/02/08 - day before my own birthday with first child. Had late miscarriage last year - the anniversary will be this Monday 27th Aug and so I'm scared stiff at moment.

Baby measurements are quite small - anyone else had this at all? My bump is neat but pretty small too - the only thing I have difficulty with is top buttons - of which I have lost a few recently. I'm not complaining though - just a little concerned especially after last time.

Blood tests are all ok - I posted regarding MATB1 form elsewhere on MN - anyone else had issues with when they can collect theirs? I was told 20 weeks, but now they say 25 weeks??

So glad I found a group dedicated to Feb 08's - my best wishes to you all - I cant offer much advise but have a shoulder and ear for anyone who wants it

lljkk · 21/08/2007 15:33

Welcome Pia03hj -- I hope everything goes right for you, this time. Who said your baby measured small? MW, 12 wk scan or just because you haven't much of a bump? How far did you get in last pregnancy, probably you're just not stretched out from it, tummy muscles still holding it all in well.

You're almost 16 wks, right? 16 wks with my 1st I could still fit into ordinary clothes (sniff, sniff). Even with my 4th, I don't have a bump that anybody else would notice, yet. In her post below that miniandme is just showing off.

Cute DD you have, miniandme -- love her hair.

Jo9977 · 21/08/2007 15:37

Welcome Pia03hj

Can't imagine how you're feeling but really hope this week goes ok and you can start to relax!

Think ljjkk has it pretty well said - I'll echo that!

xx

Pia03hj · 21/08/2007 15:42

Hi there - thank you for the reasurrance... My consultant and midwife have both higlighted concerns at little one's size, and say that its probably related to placental nourishment... being montiored and I guess thats all they can do.

Made it to mid- 2nd trim last time and had quite a pronounced bump but as baby's small I guess its nothing too much to worry about for now - I know i shouldnt complain. My friend couldnt get into her clothes from 12 weeks onwards so Im counting myself lucky!
