Beanspront- Glad it was good for you too. 1.7 is a good measurement - see responses to my similar post on thursday. I will have shared care too (age, fibroid, prem baby (dd1), gestational diabetes etc etc yawn!). Have consultant's appointment in 2 weeks. Probably wont see GP at all (except for things like the UTI i had). Generally it seems most health authorities do mw led care now.

gingermumi · 27/07/2007 17:49

Soz Slacker - didn't see your msg - glad ur ok - it's such a relief when the risk factor come out so low isn't it.

rozzyraspberry · 27/07/2007 19:45

Congratulations ginger, beansprout and slacker! Must be a big relief.

Welcome to rascal!

Have had a crappy day at work today so am off to watch trashy tv. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

CountTo10 · 27/07/2007 20:56

Hello again!!! I am back in the world of the living!!!

Ok, I have to confess that my absence has been down to me reading Harry Potter!!! I know terrible isn't it, but well worth it - fab book!!!

Sooooo, back with the tiredness now. Really struggling. It's the afternoon that's the worst then when I go to bed I'm awake for ages!!! I'm just hoping it's going to get better soon. The good thing is DS is being so superb at the moment it's making things that much easier.

Had my booking in with the midwife finally!! Feel a lot better now i'm in the system. Haven' got to see her until 18 wks so not much to do except get my bloods done.

Anyway, life will be back to normal now!! Glad to see everyone is ok and scans and stuff have been coming back ok but sorry to hear the news indignatio x

ThursdayNext · 27/07/2007 21:18

Indignation, so sorry to hear your sad news.
Hope you have lots of support, it's so difficult. Take care.

leesmum · 28/07/2007 21:13

Evening ladies, where is everyone today?
All safe and well i hope.

Has anyone done anything interesting this weekend? I haven't same old s**t. At mums tomorrow for sunday dinner and yes i will be having seconds on everything

I have been thinking a lot about when i'll be finishing for mat leave, and i think it'll be dec 15, i'll be 34wks then and because i would normally only get 3 days off over crimbo and new year i'm bloody well making the most of it and get to have some fun with ds who'll be 3yrs by then. He should really get it this year and i'm excited for him!!

Look after yourselves

rozzyraspberry · 29/07/2007 08:24

Morning everyone.

Well I was 12 weeks yesterday and have my dating scan at 9.10am tomorrow. After looking forward to the scan for ages I'm now getting quite nervous about it. Not having a nuchal scan - hadn't actually heard of these until I came on mumsnet - they not really talked about up here. We get the triple test at around 15 weeks then the detailed scan at 19 to look for abnormalities.

I had planned on telling dc about baby once we'd have the scan. It still feels quite early though - what has everyone else done about telling their other children? At 2yrs 9mos and 4yrs 8mos they're not exactly the most patient so 6 months seems like a long time for them to wait for baby to make an appearance! All being well I'll also be telling work this week which I'm not looking forward to.

Hope everyone else is ok and enjoying their weekends.

pobletsmum · 29/07/2007 17:10

leesmum - good for you looking out for no.1. You have to start mat leave when t's best for YOU and your family, not when it suits work. Those last weeks are hard enough aren't they!

Rozzy - I know what you mean about 6 months seeming a long time. I will be telling DS (2;2) as soon as I've had my nuchal scan. At that stage (12 & half wks), I will be telling everyone, and I want DS to hear the news from me, not from anybody else. That way I can choose how to handle it. DS understands quite a lot, and will probably ask lots of questions. I have a few friends about to have babies/with young babies so will use this to help explain to him. I would think that at 4+ yrs old, your eldest will soon pick up on what's going on if you are telling other people so maybe best to do the 'telling' officially yourself?

Well I'm feeling sorry for myself. Sick and tired of feeling sick & tired. I have barely done anything the last few weeks, while DH is run ragged working, looking after DS evenings & weekends, helping with chores, cooking etc. I feel so guilty, but so helpless. Unfortunately I was really nauseous all the way through my last pregnancy so it doesn't bode well for this time. I'm glad I'v got mumsnet to keep me afloat.

1st scan tomorrow by the way...

rozzyraspberry · 29/07/2007 19:30

Pobletsmum - good luck with your scan tomorrow - hopefully we'll both get good news!

Dh and I talked today about when to tell the kids and decided we would tell them after the scan. I'm starting to get a bump already so it won't be long before people start to notice and talk about it particularly when he goes back to nursery school in 3 weeks. So am now bracing myself for 6 months of 'when is the baby coming out?', 'how does it get out?' and 'how did it get in there?'

pobletsmum · 29/07/2007 20:09

Thanks rozzy - good luck to you too!

miniandme · 29/07/2007 20:55

Havent been around for a bit due to sheer exhaustion but it might just be easing now!!
All signs of sickness now totally gone at 13+2,breasts not so sore and general feeling rubbish seems to have cleared up.Still have theee most dreadful jumpy legs which are preventing me having any more than about 2 1/2 hours sleep a night, which having 3 other kids(2 of whom have special needs) to look after the days are veyr hard !!
Got scan tomorrow at 1.15 so finally get to meet baba then consultant on tuesday where i will be raising the legs thing as someone has to do something before i jump off a bridge

manamana · 29/07/2007 21:06

hello all. great news about all the scan results. we've had good news here, finally exchanged contracts and so we're moving on Monday 6th!!!! been away all weekend so back to pack but still need to go to work and still feeling sick and tired - bleurgh. half v excited about moving to a proper house with stairs and a garden closer to work but v sad about leaving our first proper home together and lots of friends. one benefit is moving to a new health authority, have already booked myself in to see new gp this tuesday and hoping to get booked in for a scan in the next couple of weeks. turrah all

manamana · 29/07/2007 21:08

miniandme, cross-posted! leg thing sounds horrendous - hope they get you sorted!

Slacker · 29/07/2007 22:56

I had the restless legs thing in one pregnancy and was told it might be potassium deficiency and eating bananas would help! Can't remember if it worked but worth a try?

Told some friends about the baby today, think they all thought I was mad, well I probably am. Still no visible bump but I can feel where it is now so expect it will pop out in a couple of weeks.

Good luck with scans tomorrow!

mutha2beagain · 30/07/2007 07:42

Hi all,

Told ds who's six on the weekend about new arrival which went down very well - he's been asking for a sibling for a long time so it was an exciting moment for all of us. Predictably he was full of questions and sweetly said well that's the good news, but the bad news is I'll have to wait till February! Since then he's been so attentive, asking me if I'm OK, if the baby's OK - it's really adorable.

Also has anyone been having twinges/aches in their lower abdomen? Not quite sure what this is all about but I've got ovarian cysts so maybe all the bits are jostling for space. Any ideas anyone?

beansprout · 30/07/2007 08:43

Poblet, rozzy and minime - good luck for your scans today!! How exciting!!

Jo9977 · 30/07/2007 09:44

Good morning!

Fab news Ginger!
and welcome rascal!

All the best for the scans today rozzy, pobletsmum and miniandme - let's have another triple whammy!

Miniandme - your legs sounds awful, hope you get something sorted. Mine seems to have eased now but I'm getting very sensitive skin, bit itchy especially as the midges have had a real go. Trouble is, when you're trying to sleep all you think about is those legs so hope there's something that can be done.

Finally, well done on the move news manamana - good to get these things out of the way!

Oh, one other thing, no actually two now I come to think about it...generally, when are people thinking of going on maternity leave? I'm thinking Christmas is too early for me but when the time comes I probably won't! With this being my first, I haven't got a clue what it feels like to be a horsebox!

And the other, can anyone recommend a good website for working out any entitlements benefit-wise...dh and I are thinking of both going part time and sharing the childcare but this halves our income. Thanks! x

morningglory · 30/07/2007 11:01

Morning, ladies. I've been quiet for the past couple of weeks because I've just been having my fingers crossed until my scan. I guess that my previous mc just made me a bit more nervous, and, particularly after reading about indignatio, I've been afraid of tempting fate. 1 week and 4 days until 12 week scan, and I'm just trying to keep busy (not difficult with an active 3 year old who is off from nursery!) until then. Nausea still here, but it is getting better. I do have to cut down on the constant eating, which I think has now become a habit.

Mutha2be, I also have been having a couple twinges in the lower abdominal area, as well as haveing to wee alot more. Probably womb stretching.

Good lucl rozzy, pobletsmum and miniandme and the scans!

morningglory · 30/07/2007 11:01

I meant luck (can't type!)

alkar · 30/07/2007 11:46

Good luck everyone with scans today.

I too have been having lower abdo twinges and was getting a bit worried about them but I guess its normal!

beansprout · 30/07/2007 12:00

I'm getting the twinges too. It's just everything moving around.

rozzyraspberry · 30/07/2007 12:09

Hi everyone!

Scan went really well - everything as it should be at this stage. Baby was wriggling around all over the place! Dates spot on. Showed dc scan photo when we got home. I thought DS1 would be really excited but wasn't really initially. Turns out he thought it was his Aunties baby (my sil is due in October) but when he realised it was ours he was very excited! Says he'll play with it and give it lots of cuddles because babies like cuddles .

Muthatobeagain - I have been having twinges like stitch like pains in my lower abdominen when standing up mainly so asked midwife about it this morning. She said it was the ligaments stretching and very normal.

Egg · 30/07/2007 12:11

Sorry have been so crap for past few days this had dropped off my "threads I am on"...

Good luck to everyone for scans today. As has been said, another triple whammy would be fab.

Been so busy as we are also moving house (not quite as soon as manamana but on 18 August. Am away for a week between now and then with DS and my sis and her kiddies, so running out of time to sort things.

Also been having abdo twinges. Had really bad pain the other morning but a bowel movement sorted me out!!!

Not feeling sick really, but still v tired and get dizzy and breathless. Can't imagine what I will be like in 5 months time. Am now in maternity jeans - what a relief. Really don't feel much bigger but normal jeans were very uncomfortable.

My DS is only 17 months. We have told him repeatedly that he will have two siblings next year but he is too young to understand.

Mini - can't imagine how tired you must feel. Especially with your other DC as well as the restless legs. Really hope you get them sorted.

Egg · 30/07/2007 12:12

YAY Rozzy. Fab news. Just missed your post before I typed my loooong one. Really pleased we have another happy scan .

gingermumi · 30/07/2007 13:43

Thanks jo and congrats rozzy. Not sure who else has scan today but good luck!

After euphoria of reslults on friday have felt crap all weekend - very tired and nauseous. I thought this was supposed to get better now! . I read somewhere that twinges are the ligamnets etc softening and stretching due to hormone changes - don't know if this helps!

I have been wearing maternity stuff for weeks but then i do look huge! The relief was immense - i can't bear anything actually on my bump so I go for under-bump styles or roll down the waistband if it comes up a bit high. For me it's the bloody fibroid - it's so uncomfortable - it's still growing (another 2 cm in last 5 weeks) - doc told me i have the equivalent of a 20 week bump and i'm only 13/14 weeks (dates vary!).

Egg - are you moving to winchester? Did i remember that right? Don't over do it! You too manamana. Moving is soooo stressful - moved when i was pg with dd2 and was totally anal about getting everything sorted - absolutely knackering and totally unnecessary!
