Have just literally skipped out of Foetal Medicine Centre having passed 12 week nuchal scan with really good results, 1 in 1,113 with blood tests added into stats. So will not be going ahead with CVS which is a huge relief.

So exciting to see LO in 4d - that technology wasn't around when I had DS - next exciting thing is breaking the news to DS, which DH and I plan to do together over lunch on Saturday.

Delighted to hear that ljjkk and Alkar have also sailed through and sorry to hear ginger that you have had to be kept waiting - how annoying is that?

Jo9977 - sorry to hear that there has been a premature news leak - what a nightmare for you as it was your news to break - not anyone else's. Hope you can resolve this breach with your stepdad OK.

Suddenly feel the urge to eat and eat - have just stuffed a Maccie D's down at lunch which is almost unheard of for me - think it's because I've dropped half a stone since I discovered I was pregnant and now it's time to start making up the weight.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

indignatio · 26/07/2007 13:34

Bye bye ladies. Emergency scan this morning showed another missed miscarriage. I am sending cyber hugs to you all and remember the wise words below - this does help your stats - so NO fresh outbreak of paranoia please.

beansprout · 26/07/2007 13:42

Indignatio - really sorry to hear that, please look after yourself and I wish you well for the future.

Oh indignatio I am so sorry. It must have been so hard for you after this many weeks. I just don't know the words to say.

Look after yourselves and take care.

Love and hugs

xx

mutha2beagain · 26/07/2007 14:36

Indignatio - I am truly truly sorry to hear that you have suffered another miscarriage.

You might like to get a copy of Prof Lesley Regan's: Miscarriage - what every woman needs to know.

It's a very good read, obviously it's informed by medical information but she does discuss the subject in a very humane way. I know it was invaluable to me when I went through it all - as I found the best way to deal with the loss was to educate myself as much as possible about the subject.

I wish you lots of courage and strength and don't let this setback deter your wishes to try for another baby.

Big cyberhugs back and take care.

bubblesbabe · 26/07/2007 16:29

Very sorry to hear your news Indignatio
Can't remember who asked but yes, dd1 and dd2 were both born in the UK. We lived over there for 11yrs before moving to Brisbane last Oct. I grew up here but new for dh as he is Sth African.
Would have to say the weather is pretty good here for winter, I don't miss the layers or wet weather gear we always had to take with us
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

indignatio · 27/07/2007 08:46

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts.

samsmam · 27/07/2007 09:04

Morning all,
Not much happening here, had my booking in appointment on Tuesday, as I expected I have to have consultant care this time due to the last shoulder dystocia and BP rising towards the end.

Just have to wait now for first scan date.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Lets hope the sun shines a bit.

violeta · 27/07/2007 09:53

I'm sorry also to hear your news, indignatio. All the best.

beansprout · 27/07/2007 13:44

Had my scan this morning. Everything is fine. Fold measurement was 1.7ish which I think is ok? Am very relieved. They have put me at 13+2 so my date is now technically 30th January, but, like Egg, I'm not budging!!! Ds was so late that it all feels academic anyway.

Samsmum - can I ask what consultant care is? Does that mean you don't see your GP at all?

Jo9977 · 27/07/2007 14:04

Great news Beansprout!

Anyone heard from Slacker?

Slacker · 27/07/2007 15:06

So sorry Indignatio, look after yourself

Sorry for reporting back late - I didnt go ahead with cvs as the scan report was good and the risk was something over 1:1000, so that's one less thing to worry about now. Was very glad I didn't have to take any children with me as there was an awfully long wait.

Now feeling a bit under the weather and have totally gone off eating, but I'm sure the baby will take whatever it needs so not too concerned, DH has promised to cook whatever I fancy this weekend so I'll have no excuse not to eat!

Glad to hear other scans have gone well, has gingermumi got her result yet though?

samsmam · 27/07/2007 16:57

Beansprout- last time I was midwife led so I didn't have any hospital visits to do (apart from scans + delivery) this time I have to because of the last delivery. Actually I think they call it shared care. Don't see GP at all only midwife at 16 weeks but apart from that its all hospital.

Here you all are!!

Found out today that I am due on 17th Feb 08 - so thought I'd join the club!

gingermumi · 27/07/2007 17:43

Welcome rascal!

Well scan and bloods are back! Risk of downs is 1 in 1043 and Edwards and Pattaus (?) is 1 in 1934. This is less than a 0.01% risk and the equivalent of the risk a 20-25 year old has!!! Yay!!! .

Feel I can relax a bit now - went out and bought a celebratory babygro!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, have a good weekend!
