Egg - so sorry to hear about ds. Hope he is ok, and you too - that must have been v upsetting.

My scan is on Friday, I know that I will realise that there is actually a baby in there but will be relieved to find out that everything is ok. With ds I had an early scan due to some bleeding so having to wait this long is new territory!

Have been to the osteopath again today. Still in a lot of pain. Feeling sick. Am knackered. And feeling just a teensy bit sorry for myself (!!) but I'm sure I'll get over it.
I really feel for those of you that are actually puking and hope it passes soon.

Hi guys,

Just a very quick post as I'm naughtily posting at work!! Bloody laptop broke last week so had to bring it into work and they kept it over the weekend and have had no way of finding a PC!!!

Anyway - scan went really well. Only one with a strong heartbeat. Quite the fidget. Got to see the umbilical cord too which was a bit weird!!! Sonographer was a moody bugger and was quite rough in places so just tried to ignore him!!! He has moved me back though - my due date is now 7th Feb (day b4 my bday!!!) So glad that everything's ok and I feel much more relaxed now!!!

Anyway, I will catch up properly with all the posts tonight and spk more later x

My back is soooo much better today. I can see how people fall in love with their doctors etc. My lovely, big, strong osteopath is my favourite person this morning!!

Pheweee Countto10. Was a bit worried as had done a search and seen you had posted at weekends before (sorry for stalking but was concerned ). So glad everything was ok. My sonographer was lovely but also pressed VERY hard and I actually felt bruised later on and the next day.

Beany, really glad the back is feeling better, must be horrible to add hideous back pain to the list of ailments.

So, looks like Jo9977 is next (tomorrow) for a scan. Good luck!

Oh, DS managed to run into the edge of his bedroom door last night, right on the side of his existing wound, he cried, but was ok straight after, and it didn't reopen. Few spots of blood in the bed but it seems to have stopped oozing now. Think we will have to postpone any chasing games until he is healed a bit more...

Poor Egg's ds. I hope it heals up soon.

Am v anxious this morning as I think I am going to need to change our childcare arrangements and am going to see a nursery today. Making this sort of change for ds feels enormous, even though there are good reasons for considering it. I am ridiculously nervous!

Sorry to hear about ds egg and hope all better soon - that kind of thing is just what you don't need!

Hope people are starting to feel a little better - my ms has almost completely passed so I feel very sorry for all those still puking up...

V nervous and excited about scan tomorrow and then telling people at work as I can't hold this stomach in for much longer. Even if the dates are put back to, say, 10 weeks do you think it's relatively safe to start telling people generally?

Egg - sorry about your DS's accident. My youngest DS is really accident prone - had had stitches in his forehead by the time he was 18 months old.

Jo - good luck with your scan tomorrow. If I had a scan at 10 weeks and saw a heartbeat and everything looked fine I would be quite happy to tell people I think.

Alkar think you are right, I remember you adding details as I remember thinking that whenever I see your name I think Alkie, as in short for alcoholic {hope this doesn't offend anyone...). Anyway, good luck for tomorrow. With my 12 week scan with DS it was at 10am or something, so I went straight there in the morning, then into work afterwards. I couldn't stop grinning so had to tell EVERYONE (had already told bosses).

Alkar and Jo9977 you two must be so excited about tomorrow, especially as its your first babies, you could look at the screen all day it's fascinating!!

Egg how is ds, these boys won't learn, my ds ended up with a black eye and huge lump on his head after a run in with table and metal gates. They have no fear at that age and your heart is in your mouth most of the time...

I have a scan tomorrow, too. 1st hurdle about to be hurdled, I hope! "Counselling" first for nuchal fold at 10:40am.

DH told DC last week who have already decided what to call the new sproglet. They understand that sometimes babies don't grow right in mummys' tummies. I thought they might get upset, but they think of it like a cabbage in the fridge going bad...

Samsmum - not back at work yet! Going back on 9th August. Will only be 11 weeks then so am going to wait until following week (at least) before telling my manager.

Am going to have to plan when to start my next lot of mat leave very carefully. Reckon I'll leave around about 32 weeks which will be the week before christmas. Quite important as I am a nurse and there's every possibility of working over christmas if I don't get it right!!

I plan to leave at Christmas too- I work in hospital Pharmacy in London and so they don't close either! We have to get it right!

Anyone see the Channel 4 documentary tonight on maternity services? I have to admit that it scared me a little, especially as I'll be going to the Whittington as well. Jo my scan is at 1.15 tomorrow and I am nervous. On the plus side boobs are still sore and someone at work tonight said I had a bump so fingers crossed all is well.

I also have a job where I could be working over Christmas - at the moment it looks like I might be working Christmas night I don't know whether to think of myself and finish on the 21st Dec (34 weeks) or carry on another week and not drop my colleagues in it.....

Good luck today girls! Am stuck in house today waiting for Sky engineer (we all know they never turn up but best to wait in to be sure...), so will be checking MN regularly for updates on scans.

DS seems to be healing nicely, as far as I can tell under the steristrip things, but think he might have conjunctivitis now . Not sure yet, but his eye looks a bit swollen and weepy but could just be because of wound above the eye. Hope not conjunctivitis as can't get to docs today and am supposed to be going to LEGOLAND tomorrow!

That sounds really grim mymissus - we watch the news and just can't believe this is the UK! Hope things sort out soon...

Hi everyone, back fom hols in Devon, hate to say it but weather was great (sorry, i know it's been really bad else where). Had a gd time but sickness actually got worse (thought it would get better by now) - even managed to throw up taking a shower! nice and easy to clean up though! . Think it might have got worse as i had UTI that wouldn't clear - had two different lots of antibiotics - seems to have gone now - fingers crossed. Had to go back to docs on day we left for hols - couldn't see my gp but saw lovely doc who found heart beat as i was getting a bit stressed cos of infection and size of fibroid (seriously, i look about 5 months pregnant, even he was surprised at size). It was good to hear heartbeat, very reassuring.

Sorry to hear about bubblesbabe. Hugs to her if anyone still in contact with her.
