September 2019 babies?

abi2790 · 27/12/2018 14:30

Do we have any September due dates yet?

This one came as a big shock for me. I had my coil out on 30th November and must have conceived pretty much straight away. Considering it took quite a long time to get DD, the BFP was a big shock!

This one will be my third!

Thank you @TwittleBee, @iano, @Megan2018. That is reassuring. I’m torn about whether to book a private scan at 8 weeks, assuming I get that far. But DH is dead against it.

porge123 · 16/01/2019 18:08

Hey guys! why is time going so slow?, waiting for midwife to contact me as went to drs surgery, filled in a form and was told a midwife will contact me(this was a week ago), did anyone else have to do this? Not sure whether I should just try and contact midwife instead of going through drs as they are awful!

Hsunshine · 16/01/2019 18:12

@porge123 that’s what I had to do but mine said 8-10 weeks will call me

iano · 16/01/2019 18:23

My surgery forgot to do the referral with my first. Maybe chase them up in a week? Some areas you can refer yourself. Tbh seeing the Gp is a bit of a letdown.

Same with the first MW's appointment. It's just form filling and screening. @porge123

porge123 · 16/01/2019 18:25

@Hsunshine oh right! Receptionist didn't say anything to me so wasn't sure when I would be contacted!Confused I assume it will be the same..

I have a gynae appt next week (previously planned before becoming pregnant), will let them know I am pregnant, but not sure whether they will reffer for an early scan due to previous issues? I have no idea how all of this works, so feel very in the dark with this whole process! Partner does not want to get too excited until the scan or even talk about it much! will just have to wait and see..

porge123 · 16/01/2019 18:27

@iano I think I will give it another week and maybe chase it up after gynae appt next week (will wait to see what they say first I think)Smile

TwittleBee · 16/01/2019 19:59

I don't recall 1st trimester being this draining! In bed again already!

Frillyfarmer · 16/01/2019 20:05

@TwittleBee snap! I've come up to bed with the toddler! I'm knackered!

porge123 · 16/01/2019 20:05

@TwittleBee I'm in bed too! Although not feeling too drained apart from work, don't want to speak too soon either incase it hits me soonGrin

TwittleBee · 16/01/2019 20:11

Glad it's not just me! Trying to stay awake for when DH gets home but eyes are so heavy

Karigan195 · 16/01/2019 20:12

I have to go out and see to the dog but currently lying in bed after a bath and don’t want to move

porge123 · 16/01/2019 20:14

Has anyone bought anything yet? I keep seeing things in the shops and online and the temptation is so hard to resist but keep persuading myself to wait!

MinnieLou · 16/01/2019 20:38

Hi ladies,

4 days now I've been spotting 🙁
Fingers crossed nothing serious, I was due on my period this week could that be affecting it?
I can't get doctors until next week just hoping it stops and all is okay.

I've been weeing an awful lot more the past week before I even found out (found out Sunday that I'm pregnant) and been so tired and drained!

Hope everyone is okay x

MunchyMunchkin · 16/01/2019 20:44

@porge123 i got some maternity stuff in my local mothercare as it’s shutting so 50% off. The stuff from my last pregnancy is a size too big so I’ll sell that on.

porge123 · 16/01/2019 20:48

@MunchyMunchkin aw that's fab! You're So lucky, I don't really have anything like that around by me so think most of my maternity shopping will be online unfortunately! Do you recommend anywhere particular for maternity clothes?

Megan2018 · 16/01/2019 20:58

@porge123
No! Not even looked-I don’t know anything about what babies need anyway, refusing to entertain the idea of it until it is actually happening.
DH and I have zero experience with kids, neither of us have a clue how to change a nappy even. We are basically screwed! I’ll just panic buy on Amazon the day before due date I reckon Grin

porge123 · 16/01/2019 21:05

@Megan2018 hahaha I love the honesty! my partner is exactly the same which slightly worries me a bit but he does say after scans etc he will feel more involved. I like to think I'm okay with babies but at the end of the day, it will all be new to me as a mother too which makes me even more nervous as neither of us will have a clue lol.

Hsunshine · 16/01/2019 21:11

Minnielou - I would call your epc and ask if they can see you.

I may or may not have chosen everything from furniture to Prams.... once it’s March I’ll start buying Blush

stroan · 16/01/2019 21:17

@porge123 it’s very disappointing but we don’t really need anything this time round. We might get a sleepyhead and a new changing bag, but have everything stored from DD and it was all gender neutral.

All the shopping and research kept me busy and distracted last time!

MunchyMunchkin · 16/01/2019 21:28

@porge123 eBay or fbook market place are great as most of it is barely worn. Or borrow from friends.
For buying new I liked ASOS, new look and George at Asda. All reasonably priced.
Barely anything actually in the shops to see/try so online is your best bet.

Sydneysider2019 · 16/01/2019 21:28

@Megan2018 😂😂😂

porge123 · 16/01/2019 21:37

@stroan I guess in that sense you're quite lucky! Did you not find out sex of baby as you said you have a lot of neutral?

@MunchyMunchkin Fbook/eBay is a fab idea! I wouldn't have thought about them, will deffo have a look although I know I will end up buying a few bits new (despite some things being extortionate on some sites!!) Sad don't think I will buy all brand new tbh as you said they will be hardy worn anyway!

porge123 · 16/01/2019 21:39

@stroan by baby I mean DD sorry guys not up to date with all these shorteningsGrin

stroan · 16/01/2019 21:41

@porge123 no, we didn’t and won’t find out this time either. It wouldn’t have changed what we bought as we always planned to have two and therefore I wanted things that could work for both. Clothes-wise, I don’t like pink or blue so it was easy for me to just buy more colourful stuff!

I got maternity stuff from ASOS clearance last time, they always have loads of bits on there.

MunchyMunchkin · 16/01/2019 21:55

If you have weddings or events to go to then you can get lovely occasion dresses on eBay (like Tiffany rose) for about £60 then sell at £60 after. So essentially free!
