September 2019 babies?

999 replies

abi2790 · 27/12/2018 14:30

Do we have any September due dates yet?

This one came as a big shock for me. I had my coil out on 30th November and must have conceived pretty much straight away. Considering it took quite a long time to get DD, the BFP was a big shock!

This one will be my third!

@TwittleBee I'm sure I'm just being paranoid, will see if there's any spotting today before contacting mifldwives, I've had no more this morning, so fx it was as you say just some old blood. I'm glad to hear your signs are sounding super positive 😊

TwittleBee · 16/01/2019 07:17

Yeah think I was just being over anxious Gemma so I know how you're feeling right now

MunchyMunchkin · 16/01/2019 07:40

Great news @twittlebee

jazzyjellybeans · 16/01/2019 07:59

@TwittleBee great news!

@GemmaJen glad to hear you've had no more spotting!

boodles101 · 16/01/2019 09:44

Great news twittlebee
I woke up in the night to a really bad belly ache. I was so worried that it was all over. Turns out my dinner just didn't go down too well.
I'm off out to the zoo today taking my son for his 2nd birthday. I got a 3+ on a digi so I'm going to try and relax a bit now and I'll ring the GP tomorrow.

Megan2018 · 16/01/2019 09:47

@boodles101
I had the same last night - had to take Gaviscon. Woke up in a panic as was in pain - but it was all gas/indigestion.

Still have the horrible hungover feeling though.

@TwittleBee
Such good news!

Megan2018 · 16/01/2019 09:57

So my booking appointment is on Monday 21st - I'll only be 6+1. is that not really early?!

I was a bit flummoxed when midwife called as I was at work and trying to bat off someone that was at my office door so they didn't hear so didn't say. Midwife knew how many weeks I am though.

I'm happy to go - I just wasn't expecting it so soon!

Karigan195 · 16/01/2019 10:00

Mine was last week and about the same.

TwittleBee · 16/01/2019 10:02

Happy birthday to your son boodles have a lovely day!

That does seem early Megan usually its as close to 8 weeks as possible but as long as it is done before 10 weeks (which it certainly will be!) I think its fine as then they can do the blood tests still

Karigan195 · 16/01/2019 10:08

My midwife seems to think they will do blood tests at the dating scan. But that will be around 12 weeks. Should it be sooner then?

TwittleBee · 16/01/2019 10:18

It might vary from place to place but I had bloods taken at the booking app Karigan to test for things like my bloods and the screening tests too. I did think the screening tests had to be done before 10 weeks, but I am unsure as to why. Also had my urine checked too and a swap for STIs.

TwittleBee · 16/01/2019 10:20

www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/screening-sickle-cell-thalassaemia-pregnant/

Thats the one that has to be done before 10 weeks. Perhaps they know you arent a carrier already?

Easterbuns1 · 16/01/2019 10:25

I think it varies, I had booking at 6 weeks lat time and then she had me back at 7 weeks for bloods. Booking is at 8 weeks this time but just because that's when the first appointment was available.

I'm having a morning curled up on the sofa, so nauseous and couldn't even keep my tea down. Going to try some toast! Actually glad though, feels more positive when ive got proper symptoms!

Megan2018 · 16/01/2019 10:36

Thanks all

Fortunately they have allocated me to the midwife team that is very near to me but actually in the next county which is super helpful location wise.

I live right on the Leics/Rutland county boundary, am technically part of Leicestershire but I have been allocated to the Rutland team in Oakham which is much nicer than Melton. The NHS trust covers Leics and Rutland though.

stroan · 16/01/2019 11:23

It definitely varies from area to area. I had mine last week and it was just form filling, then I’m seeing her again next Monday for blood tests/urine sample/blood pressure etc.

I have complicated things for her, because I’ve chosen to have the baby at a hospital in a different NHS area (because it’s actually closer, plus newer and nicer!). I’ll be consultant led there so will have community midwife appointments plus consultant clinic appointments. they do things differently to the area where my community midwife is. I think i’ll be getting poked and prodded a LOT!

IcyToes · 16/01/2019 13:16

Hello! Can I join? I've just got my bfp this morning and am so excited and terrified. This will be baby number 2 and our son is currently 16 months ( and a total handful most of the time). He will just have turned 2 when I'm due. Which by my dates I think is late September.

hodgeheg92 · 16/01/2019 13:19

@karigan195 Where I live bloods aren't done at the booking apt, they're done separately at the hospital so don't worry it's early. I'm going next week at 6 weeks for the booking apt. You'll then be told what you do about bloods.

Fortheloveofscience · 16/01/2019 13:26

4w5d today and woke up to find all my symptoms other than sore boobs have vanished. I’d previously had cramping, breathlessness, headache, really thirsty and peeing loads. Properly anxious for the first time that something’s not right - is this bad news? First pregnancy so I’ve no idea...

TwittleBee · 16/01/2019 13:32

certainly doesnt mean bad news Fortheloveofscience ! Symptoms come and go all the time, it is really common but totally understand the reassurance they bring when you do have them. (oh and FYI, I had symptoms throughout my whole MMC and continued to have them until I finally got a BFN, so if you are worried you could always POAS)

Welcome and congrats IcyToes !!

iano · 16/01/2019 14:03

@Fortheloveofscience don't worry about it too much. I was feeling really unwell around week 7 with my first. Week 8 I woke up and that was it. Nothing! All was well and I had a really easy pregnancy.

Megan2018 · 16/01/2019 14:12

@Fortheloveofscience

All my symptoms apart from sore boobs have gone too at 5+3, but I am full of cold so think this is why.
As long as no bleeding or pain it is fine I am sure.
I will POAS again on Sunday though just to check- am only allowing weekly testing otherwise I'd be at it every day!

Hsunshine · 16/01/2019 17:50

My midwife is going to call me between 8-10 weeks. Do you think this is too late?

GemmaJen · 16/01/2019 17:52

@Hsunshine I think every area is different. It'll be in plenty of time for all the tests you need. Have they given you contact details in case you have any concerns in the meantime?

Frillyfarmer · 16/01/2019 17:53

@IcyToes I've also got a 16month old! 4+6 today and just trying to symptom spot to stop me from going mad.

I never had an early scan with my first because what will he will be, but the curious part of me is itching to get one!

Hsunshine · 16/01/2019 18:01

@gemmajen no but I call my dr and she’s very good. She referred me to EPU tomorrow
