September 2019 babies?

abi2790 · 27/12/2018 14:30

Do we have any September due dates yet?

This one came as a big shock for me. I had my coil out on 30th November and must have conceived pretty much straight away. Considering it took quite a long time to get DD, the BFP was a big shock!

This one will be my third!

@boodles101 my last period started on 11 December. But not sure what length my cycles are atm as I had a mmc in November so only had one period since then. Until a scan tells me otherwise I'm going by ovia's default allocations if 17th September. Incidentally it is also the edd that the mamanatural advanced due date calculator also gave me

MrsRRC · 13/01/2019 21:23

@ButtonTum we aim to please 😁 I have asked DH to prop the letterbox open seeing as it’s a bit chilly for open windows and doors. Haha.

I didn’t have many symptoms apart from trapped wind (my constant companion) at the 4-5 week mark.

The only three thing that has just occurred to me is that I have been very sneezy since getting my bfp. Odd.

Sarah88B · 13/01/2019 21:49

Hi! I'm completely new to this but thought I'd give it a go!
My partner and I have been so very lucky to get pregnant through IVF and we had our 6 week scan today. I'm so relieved to say that everything looks good! As we've been through IVF it's tricky to work out due date, but thinking it'll be early September. I thought it would be good to join this group as this is our first pregnancy and feel like I'll need lots of advice!!

GemmaJen · 14/01/2019 04:52

Good morning 🌞

I got my BFP just over a week ago, currently 4w5d. Would love to join for advice and support. Had an MMC at 11w back in November, so a little nervous this time round - first baby. Going to be having a couple of reassurance scans later this trimester. Currently waiting on a gp referral to midwife to kick things off. No uncomfortable symptoms yet, I have days when I panic because it doesn't feel real.

Happy Monday to you all x

Hangingtrousers · 14/01/2019 06:14

Top one was last night. Bottom was this morning.i had to open it because the control line was nearly in the middle so couldn't see the test line!
I really thought it was going to be darker this morning but it's the same.

Anyone else going to self refer? I can't be arsed with GP and self referred last time... I'll see if I still can today.

Hangingtrousers · 14/01/2019 06:15

Welcome @gemmajen
Really hope all goes well this time.

hodgeheg92 · 14/01/2019 07:53

@hangingtrousers I don't know about darker but it's definitely still there! I'm going to try and self refer straight to the midwife, will call my surgery when DD naps later today (should probably say "if"!) The midwife appointments last time were always on a Thursday though and I work Thursday now (part time after returning from mat leave). I would rather not have to tell them so early cos I know they'll be annoyed that I basically returned from mat leave already pregnant (they won't say but the reaction will be telling I'm sure!)

MrsRRC · 14/01/2019 07:58

@Hangingtrousers I self referred on 3rd of January and called the maternity unit on 10th of Jan to chase. They were not massively helpful though obviously very busy. I was given access to the MOMA app on Friday so I am hoping to hear from the midwife some time this week. I know she did her admin on a Friday so it’s likely I’ll hear from her at some point this week.

Hangingtrousers · 14/01/2019 07:58

I've just found the online form to fill in. My period is due today so I'll give it a few days just in case .. then send it off.
Interesting pregnancy notes are on line now!
Yes I really don't want any appointments on work days... I'm a teacher so time off is tricky. Hopefully will be on a non work day although work days have the benefit of not having dd2 about.

Frillyfarmer · 14/01/2019 08:10

I've booked my booking apt for the end of this month as I had GD in my last pregnancy and was consultancy led.

If this bean sticks, I think I might be a bit more fierce this time round as I felt like my midwife and the consultant left me with no option in my last pregnancy - I was induced early due to measuring big, and had a fairly long and painful labour as a result - my DC was born at 7lbs8 so not exactly big. I don't mind being under consultant care and monitoring my GD but I don't want to be made to feel like I have to be induced early again - in hindsight that was unnecessary.

Sydneysider2019 · 14/01/2019 08:18

Hi all
I’m 5+3, edd 12.9, have been absolutely knocked out by nausea over the last few days. Being at work is some sort of hell - I feel so trapped, I just want to lie down somewhere. I really don’t know how I am supposed to drag myself to work day in and day out if I am feeling like this. I think I had one hour today when the nausea subsided and I almost felt normal.
How is everyone else coping at work?

iano · 14/01/2019 09:02

Hello
Can I join please?
I'm 5 weeks today. I've already contacted the head MW as I was told to do that after my last labour didn't go well. Got an out of office so will chase later this week.

Karigan195 · 14/01/2019 09:02

So far I’ve been lucky. It tends to hit me when I first get up or after dinner. Mornings are spent feeling a little not right lying down. Getting up and gradually feeling more and more nauseas. Today I spent 3 mins sat on the stairs trying to control it then 5 mins dry heaving over the sink where I failed. But once I get something inside me it subsides even just a bit of liquid.

Evenings are worse as that’s when I tend to actually be sick.

I have read some tips. Which seem to help. Copy and paste below:

Every pregnancy is unique, and every mother-to-be is different, so not all of these tips will work for everyone. Give them a go, and hopefully you’ll find something that helps you to feel a little better. Here are five tips to reduce pregnancy nausea:

1.	Try some ginger - some women swear by ginger as a natural way to tackle pregnancy nausea. Ginger tea, ginger biscuits and ginger beer (non-alcoholic, of course) are all popular amongst pregnant women. Some women find that the ginger helps to settle their stomach.
2.	Eat first thing - some women find that the nausea kicks in as soon as they get out of bed. Low blood sugar could be one of the causes of pregnancy nausea, so you may find that eating before you get out of bed can help to reduce sickness. Snacking on a plain cracker a few minutes before standing up could reduce pregnancy nausea, although feel free to demand a full cooked breakfast in bed from your partner if you think it will help.
3.	Eat little and often - instead of gorging on three big meals a day, try picking at smaller meals throughout the day. Keeping healthy snacks near your desk at work, and eating light meals, could help to prevent dips in your blood sugar level.
4.	Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water. This seems to be go-to advice for any pregnancy ailment, and that’s because you need extra water during pregnancy. Drink plenty of water, and you may find that your pregnancy nausea becomes more manageable. If you are struggling to keep water down, try adding lemon or ice to see if that helps.
5.	Eat the right foods - while you may be craving salty, sugary snacks, these foods can actually make pregnancy nausea worse. Try to increase your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, and make sure you are eating a healthy, balanced diet. Some women find that strong flavours increase nausea, so you may want to avoid spicy food for a couple of weeks. If you’re sick each time you eat an orange, cut oranges out of your diet for a few days to see if that helps.

Morning all! A bit to catch up on it seems!

Easterbuns1 sorry you’ve started bleeding, bloomin annoying. FX it will be nothing for you. My EPU say it is 50:50 with bleeds whether they will lead to MC or not.

MrsRRC Any chances you can just be designated driver for a bit and claim that its just easier if your driving which is why you aren’t drinking? Usually works for me. Sorry the nausea has hit, hopefully it wont progress into actual sick for you.

ButtonTum & babybee88 honestly, don’t worry about not having any symptoms, man women barely have any. Even with symptoms you can go on and MC / MMC.

ButtonTum and sorry to read about your MC in Nov & confusion with cycles.

Welcome Sarah88B brilliant news that everything looks good from the scan! Any advice you need, ask away! I am sure we are all happy to answer

Morning Gemma and Congrats! So sorry to read about your MMC, they really are shit. FX this one is sticky for you.

Hangingtrousers I know that one was with night pee and the other FMU but don’t worry too much as HCG double every 48 hours so might not have risen that much yet? Could you get your blood levels monitored if you are worried? It is what I am thinking of asking for.

FrillyFarmer yeah hardly big really, certainly talk through your options more this time. It’s hard though isn’t it with our first. We just trust everyone will be doing the best thing for us.

Sydneysider2019 hello! It is bloomin hardwork isn’t it, but honestly the 1st trimester is the hardest for the nausea and tiredness, its made worse by trying to hide it too. Hopefully you’ll find it calms down after 7 weeks as for a lot of women it does.

So, my temps are down again this morning, my pregnancy tests look so faint & I have started spotting…. Really does not look like this one will stick. Should have known I was too lucky. Took us 12 months of TTC for it to end in MMC and I foolishly thought we might be lucky with us conceiving straight after the MMC without having to wait another whole year again to see a proper BFP. Feel close to tears. Gonna phone GP tomorrow and see what they say.

Karigan195 · 14/01/2019 09:06

I’m sorry Twittlebee. Definitely phone the gp as IF it’s the second they may well do work to investigate. Look after yourself. 💐

Sydneysider2019 · 14/01/2019 09:14

Karigan195 thank you for that! Having food does seem to take the edge off for a little bit before it starts all over again.

TwittleBee Flowerssending you best wishes...

iano · 14/01/2019 09:35

I'm sorry to read this @TwittleBee. Thanks

Megan2018 · 14/01/2019 10:10

So saw the GP today, she was really nice. She’s referred me to the midwives who will be in touch re Booking in appointment and scan date.

So nothing to do now except sit and fret!! Oh and monitor blood pressure as I have White Coat Syndrome so they want me to take home readings as appointment readings will be useless!

5+1 today, not sick yet but smell aversions are kicking in big time. Opening the kitchen bin is a challenge (it doesn’t stink but to me smells vile).

Megan2018 · 14/01/2019 10:12

@TwittleBee
I wish I knew what to say, so sorry it doesn’t look promising for you this time.

iano · 14/01/2019 10:17

@Megan2018 I have the same problem. Weirdly my BP was amazing throughout pregnancy and I was able to have it done at the MW. Hoping for the same this time.

Easterbuns1 · 14/01/2019 10:27

@TwittleBee I'm sorry things aren't looking great at the moment, it's crap I wish there was something I could say.

There are so many of us now it's hard to keep track so apologies for not replying to all. Might be worth putting the link to the spreadsheet up for the new arrivals?

Karigan195 · 14/01/2019 10:33

I couldn’t edit that spreadsheet. Decided to leave it until the dating scan as may need to switch to August 🤔

MrsRRC · 14/01/2019 10:45

@Twittlebee have been wondering how you are. I’m sorry you are going through this, take some time to take care of yourself. I agree with others who’ve said definitely call the GP. Get it on record and push them to look into it if you can. Xx

TwittleBee · 14/01/2019 10:45

Here is the link, it is editable but I know some have issues trying to do it on their phone...

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VUDuTLeibUnnaCWCjb-pqUe4Wnq-fTau4HJgmE1XE3c/edit?usp=sharing

I am in the Office so if anyone wants me to add them in, just ask Smile

TwittleBee · 14/01/2019 10:46

and thank you everyone, I guess I will just have to take it day by day until either I get a BFN, start bleeding properly or scan/bloods tell me whats going on.
