September 2019 babies?

abi2790 · 27/12/2018 14:30

Do we have any September due dates yet?

This one came as a big shock for me. I had my coil out on 30th November and must have conceived pretty much straight away. Considering it took quite a long time to get DD, the BFP was a big shock!

This one will be my third!

@WingingIt09
I am glad you have supportive people around you and you are not on your own.
I am on the fence as to whether to tell anyone in case this is the position we are in - but my close friends are not local and I don't want to put my parents through it. I had never planned children and at 70 they have reconciled not being grandparents - I couldn't bear to see their hurt.

WingingIt09 · 10/01/2019 15:52

@Megan2018 thank you. This situation is the reason we did tell people. My mum and DHs mum knew, as did my best friend. We worried at telling them so early but I'm now really glad we did. It meant I could phone my mum the minute I realised what was happening and she came to look after me. In that moment I just really needed my mum so it would have been awful to have to tell her what was happening if she hadn't known I was pregnant. Xx

mrss2018 · 10/01/2019 16:03

Just been to the GP to get their opinion of my dates and to see if they'll send me for an early scan...

Well if I wasn't already anxious I am now!!
Told her my worries because of previous mc, she asked about symptoms and I said that I have a bit of nausea but I think that's anxiety rather than pregnancy...then she asked "do you feel pregnant"....so 1 what does that even mean?! And 2 no I don't really feel any different to when I wasn't pregnant so does that mean I need to worry? Grrrr

So she's asking the midwife to see me sooner...hopefully she'll be able to get me an earlier scan..if not I'll have to pay

Megan2018 · 10/01/2019 16:22

@mrss2018
Bloody hell! How the feck are we meant to know what pregnant feels like?! Some people manage to get to giving birth without knowing....

I'm seeing GP Monday - I think I'll cry if they say that to me. I'm already a head-case!

What did she make of your dates?

mrss2018 · 10/01/2019 16:31

@Megan2018 I did cry!! She then proceeded to offer me medication and a sick note!!

She said 5+5 which is what I worked out by using average cycle length...I don't think I'm any further along but could potentially be 7 days earlier so if they did scan me I think I'd have to go on the earliest date to avoid any unnecessary heartbreak...hopefully by then I'll "feel pregnant"

TwittleBee · 10/01/2019 16:31

mrss2018 feel like maybe she is actually doing you a favour by may be getting you to see MW earlier and potential scan. Hopefully she didn't mean anything could be wrong by her words though!

On the discussion of telling people early. We did last few times. Found it so helpful having people know i was upset at xmas because of the MMC and helped with people understanding why I couldn't bare the sight of my newborn nephew.

However, we are yet to tell anyone about this pregnancy. DH doesn't want to see the pain and upset in anyone else's eyes if we go through another CP or MC.

mrss2018 · 10/01/2019 16:57

@TwittleBee don't get me wrong I appreciate the efforts for an earlier ME apt but I think I expected to feel some reassurance

We aren't telling anybody yet...was so hard breaking the bad news last time...

mrss2018 · 10/01/2019 16:58

MW not ME

Nikki1211 · 10/01/2019 17:56

Hi ladies!! Mind if I join? Found out I’m preggers on 27th Dec! Have a 3 year old cheeky monkey. Due date (from my calculations) is 5th September! Congratulations to all the new mummies to be! Xx

hodgeheg92 · 11/01/2019 05:35

With regards to telling people early, we waited till we'd paid for an early scan (turned out to be 7 weeks) last time but this time I blurted it out to my best friend. Mostly because my DHs job is potentially at risk and I was explaining my worries about that.

I was so glad we paid for the early scan last time and I think we will again if this one sticks. Is anyone else more comfortable saying they've POAS and it was positive than using the word 'pregnant' to describe themselves?! Or am I the only one Blush

TwittleBee · 11/01/2019 07:13

It's horribly tough breaking the bad news isn't it mrss2018 Sad FX for us this time

Welcome and congratulations to you too Nikki1211

hodgeheg92 I can't say I've been struggling to consider myself pregnant (to myself and DH that is). I think it's good you've got your best friend aware of your situation in case anything does go wrong with the pregnancy or the job tbh

Hope everyone has a lovely Friday

HelloSeptember · 11/01/2019 07:40

Woke up with slightly swallen fingers, only realised while trying to put my rings on. 5 weeks tomorrow so a bit early for that? Anyone else? x

Karigan195 · 11/01/2019 07:52

I don’t know as you get the blood increase pretty quickly after falling pregnant so could just be the extra fluids.

TwittleBee · 11/01/2019 08:22

yeah fluid retention can be a bitch in early pregnancy HelloSeptember

Fortheloveofscience · 11/01/2019 08:36

Hi everyone!

Tentatively joining, I had my BFP on Tuesday and after doing about 10 tests that keep getting darker I’m starting to believe it. I’m 4 weeks today and EDD should be 21 September.

Starting to get some symptoms: boobs have been sore since about 4DPO, pulling in abdomen, ‘full’ feeling, random leg/hip cramps and backache. Spending the day with my mum tomorrow and can’t decide whether to tell her. It’s my first pregnancy so all feeling a bit overwhelming.

When did you all call your GP? I was going to leave it a bit longer, feel like telling anyone is jinxing it. But don’t know if that’s stupid and I should get on the list ASAP...?

stroan · 11/01/2019 08:45

I’m definitely a bit swollen, combination of fluid retention/bloating/ not drinking as much water as normal.

The nausea has ramped up here, struggling to eat much. But grateful I’m not being sick, so sorry to hear you have HG itsalwayssunny.

TwittleBee · 11/01/2019 08:47

Welcome Fortheloveofscience ! We don't call the GP in our area, we refer direct with the MW service. Done it the following day after my BFP at around 10dpo, maybe a bit eager but I like to get organised!

For everyone that is new, we have a group Google Sheet so keep track of everyones DD, MW apps & Scans etc

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VUDuTLeibUnnaCWCjb-pqUe4Wnq-fTau4HJgmE1XE3c/edit?usp=sharing

It should be an editable link, although I know some people struggling adding to it via their phone! If anyone has issues, let me know and I'll add you in xx

Megan2018 · 11/01/2019 08:53

@Fortheloveofscience

I tested day after I was due (last Sunday), so was 4 weeks exactly then and called GP surgery the next day - they are seeing me this Monday (I'll be 5+1 then), in our area you have to see GP to be referred to MW.

I'd call them now and ask how it works where you are.

I don't expect to see the MW until at least 8 weeks, but wanted to get the ball rolling in case there was any delay with appointments.

Karigan195 · 11/01/2019 08:59

I’m seeing the midwife today. They aren’t sure if I’m 7 or 9 weeks along as my last ‘bleed’ was a funny light one day one on the 25th November. Had to go through the Drs so may be best to call your Drs and ask what their local procedure is.

I think I’m getting some cravings. Prawn cocktail crisps of all things!

TwittleBee · 11/01/2019 08:59

yeah that was my thinking Megan although I think they need to get you in at around 8 weeks for the blood test or something?

TwittleBee · 11/01/2019 10:18

Any of you ladies having proper severe cramps to one side that bend you over in pain? Been having them on and off all last night and this morning, not sure if I should be worried. Not had pain like this before.

Megan2018 · 11/01/2019 10:31

@TwittleBee
No, nothing painful. I had a twinge or 2 but was uncomfortable rather than painful.
I think if I was in pain like that I’d get it checked (although who by?). Hope you are ok, it could easily be nothing.

TwittleBee · 11/01/2019 10:33

Megan thank you, I know it could just be my existing bowel issues (I came off my meds once I got the BFP) as its lower left and that is where part of the bowel that gives me most grief sits. But same time keep getting worried something might be wrong. I should probably call GP/EPU about it but just worried they will dismiss me as they'll assume its anxiety from previous MMC

Hangingtrousers · 11/01/2019 10:38

Got positive result this morning.. edd is 24th Sept! Eek! will be DC #3.

KnobJockey · 11/01/2019 11:55

Congratulations @Fortheloveofscience and @Hangingtrousers!

Was feeling a bit emotional last night- only found out and told DP the day before yesterday, then yesterday another family crisis arose with his mum, who has lost her job and is really struggling moneywise, which meant he was stressed and worried about her. Normally I would be practical and help, but her husband is a waste of space and barely contributes, so I really hate the thought that right now, when we need our money for so many other things, and the thought of maternity pay is hanging above us, we may have to help with finding her rent money got me upset. We had just one night to be excited. It's not her fault at all, she kept it secret and she doesn't know about me expecting, but IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!

Sorry, rant over. Had a cuppa this morning and it tasted off, like I had been ill and had really bad breath, does that make sense? Still drank it, can't cope without tea until September so it can learn to like it too! Tired today, again, and belly has been feeling twisty today and yesterday, a bit like I'm anxious crossed with period cramps. Anyone else got that?
