@Blueberry2018 thank you, you're so lovely! I've been feeling so down recently because of how sick I've been and I was so crushed when I got told I look like a dead body.

@UnicornDust17 8am on Wednesday 💔

Rachellev · 31/12/2018 21:49

Is lactalose safe for pregnancy

Blueberry2018 · 31/12/2018 21:54

@Rachellev It says on label 'use with caution in first 3 months of preg and mc during preg that i took it so i wont risk it. I just drink boiled water with slice of lemon in.

UnicornDust17 · 31/12/2018 21:55

@Rachellev check with your pharmacy, but hospital gave it to me throughout my pg with DS1

Rachellev · 31/12/2018 21:56

Thanks so much all first pregnancy and trying everything to make sure baby will be healthy and safe

avacadooo · 31/12/2018 21:57

@Rachellev I got sachets with laxatives in them but they also had salt and other stuff that you lose.
They're pretty gross but I'd ask a pharmacist for them.
Or orange juice?

Just wanted to wish you all a happy new year ladies! Thanks for all your support so far! Here's to an exciting 2019!!

ScotsBaby2 · 31/12/2018 22:16

@avacadooo that sounds totally rubbish. I'm impressed you made it to work. Keep you head up. You are doing a great job xxx

Bakingabean · 01/01/2019 03:06

Happy new year everyone!

I managed to out myself to the 2 close friends we had round tonight. She is 7 months pregnant and was telling me about her midwife and before I could think it through, I said "our one"...

Bugger! Luckily they're very excited and have promised to keep quiet. I'm 10 weeks tomorrow so not too long until I can actually tell them. But still. I always put my foot in it!

ss3ajb · 01/01/2019 08:19

@avacadooo I hope you are ok that sounds really rubbish - particularly when you felt so poorly and made the effort to go in sending hugs x

Happy new year mums to be! I have not had any more spotting which am relieved about and have had done strong symptoms today and yesterday of sore books and nausea so that's made me less anxious - 8 weeks tomo so just want to get to 12 weeks and see a healthy scan then hopefully can relax a little.

I did venture out into st ives last night it was lovely (had a power nap so could see out the night) but I felt like a whale :( the bloating is shocking - trying not to care but would prefer not to feel 6mths pregnant at the two month stage lol x

W0MANlikeME · 01/01/2019 08:33

Anyone else got AWFUL skin (or the magic cure?)

OctoberGirl91 · 01/01/2019 08:33

Little bit concerned woke last night with a dull ache and had light brown/pink when wiping - haven't slept very well worrying.

Woken today and had only a spec of pink in with clear discharge when wiping and not sure I still have dull ache in my lower back slightly. I'm seeing midwife for booking appointment Thursday should I just keep an eye on it? Because of previous miscarriage I'm really anxious.

It's only been a slight amount but with my two healthy pregnancies I never had any bleeding or spotting 😣xx

QueenofFox · 01/01/2019 08:38

@W0MANlikeME I had awful skin with my first two pregnancies (FWIW it's supposed to be a sign of a girl), it magically cleared up at 12wks but nothing would shift it otherwise. This time around I have nothing! It's rubbish though as makes you feel shit, you have my sympathies.

W0MANlikeME · 01/01/2019 08:44

I have 4 dc (3 boys and 2 girl) I don't remember looking like this with any of them! It is horrible.

W0MANlikeME · 01/01/2019 08:46

One girl. I have one girl. I honestly can count my own children Shock

ScotsBaby2 · 01/01/2019 08:57

@OctoberGirl91 I would see how you go and if you get more you can phone for advice. Thursday seems so far away. Do you have lots of things on this week to distract you?

OctoberGirl91 · 01/01/2019 09:39

Just been again to toilet and there was nothing with wiping this time, so I'll keep my eye on it. Trying keep as rested as I can today with my feet up.xx

Nursiemum27 · 01/01/2019 10:02

Happy new year everyone!!!

ScotsBaby2 · 01/01/2019 10:10

Happy new year xx

Funkyemzie · 01/01/2019 10:20

I've put on half a lb in 4 weeks. Only know this because I go Slimming World so I can keep track of my weight. I've not been sick or very nauseous through the day just not overly hungry but if someone put a plate of food in front of me then I would scoff the lot! I put on over 4 stone with my first so that's not happening again!

@Octobergirl91 that's good that it's stopped isnt it! It's such a blooming scary time! Fx it stays away. X

Funkyemzie · 01/01/2019 10:21

Happy New Year everyone! StarStar

mamma2be · 01/01/2019 10:32

Hi ladies

Happy new year!

New mum to be here - due around 26th Aug if all goes well! First time mum and also first time posting on Mumsnet.

Have read through a lot of the posts on this thread and feeling a mixture of excitement, worry but also relief that early pregnancy is such an uncertain time for everyone - and we're all in it together! Can already tell there's such a great, supportive community here.

Have been reluctant to post as not sure if the pregnancy is viable and I don't want to get ahead of myself. What's the key to not driving yourself crazy until the 12 week scan?! I'm only 6+1 so still a while to go.

I'm considering booking an early pregnancy scan. It's self referral in my area so still waiting to get a call back from the hospital. Has anyone had an early scan in London and can recommend a clinic? And is it worth it? I would just like it to feel.. real!

EverythingNow · 01/01/2019 10:32

@Funkyemzie I put on 4st with my first. Absolutely ruined my stomach!

With dc2@3 I was heavier to start with but only put on a stone each time. They were whoppers (8.16 and 9.10) so it really was all baby and I was lighter than when I started although still over weight! Not sure how I managed it tho!

This time I'm starting my pregnancy the same weight as I was full term with my first so I really need to gain about a stone max again. I'm hoping MW will refer me to SW.

ss3ajb · 01/01/2019 10:44

@OctoberGirl91 I had something similar a couple of days ago and was really worried but it has stopped like you a tiny amount - have read it's quite common so trying not to worry too much not got my booking appointment till 15th jan first pregnancy for me - have fingers crossed for both of us and am trying to be reassured from all I have read that it can be common in pregnancy - take care of yourself xxxx
