RooKangaroo · 14/12/2018 19:33

Thanks everyone for advice and support after the crash. All been checked over in A@E and all seems fine. DH needs to keep an eye out for whiplash, but it might just be a strain and go away on its own. They've told him to see how it goes over the next few days.

Fingers crossed all the logistics get sorted soon so we can get a courtesy car or something. Fully expect the car to be a write-off, so also have to start looking into getting a new one. Massive faff!

@Onestep2 - Claire update, please!!!

TwinkleDay · 14/12/2018 19:54

@onestep2 oh ffs you are too right laburna... let’s get this trending #offyoufuckclaire 😂

What the heck does she want ?

NoParticularPattern · 14/12/2018 20:03

Just checking in. Feel like absolute hell! Just been proper down-the-nose sick just as DD dropped off to sleep thankfully. I seem to remember that I was sick in the evenings most of all last time but thankfully not very often, just felt it all of the time. Either than or I’ve eaten something dodgy (which is unlikely since I can’t actually eat very much at all now!). 8 weeks today so hopefully only 6 weeks left to go!! Anyone got any good tips for getting the vomit smell out of your nose? I think that’s what I hate most about being sick- I always feel like I smell of it but actually it’s just lodged in my nostrils!!

Glad to see some happy news with scans etc! Hopefully not long before my dating scan- should be in 4 ish weeks I hope!

Kentishgal · 14/12/2018 20:11

Onestep2 you're speaking to a group of women who can't drink and are most likely sat on the sofa trying not to vomit - so I doubt many of us are out on Friday night - instead we're sat waiting for a Claire update ...don't keep us in suspense pls...

TwinkleDay · 14/12/2018 20:18

Lol @kentishgirl..

I was actually about to ask what’s everyone’s plan about muff de fluffing further down the line? I don’t know if I can go au natural in the heat of summer lol... do you go to get it done somewhere or get OH involved?

ememem84 · 14/12/2018 20:26

twinkle I carried on last time and got bikini waxes. Up until I was about 20 weeks then I couldn’t stand the pain any more. I then shaved it a bit then when it just got too awkward just left it. I thought I’d care while I was giving birth. Nope.

Who’s Claire?

I’m currently enjoying an early night. Dh is out and I’m listening to a book as am too lazy to read. Am also sipping on a fibre drink. One of my forgotten joys of pregnancy last time. The need for a whack of fibre. To errr unblock things. Yuk.

Still no scan appointment. Grrr.

Am convinced I’ve “popped” out and Ann showing but whilst I know I’m likely to show earlier with dc2 it can’t be this early. Suspecting am bloated because of the above need for fibre.

Capybaras · 14/12/2018 20:36

Hi all! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Still been feeling relatively ok (bar ravenous hunger/sickness) so feel lucky as I know some of you are really struggling!

Haven't even thought about grooming - doubt my OH will want to get involved and always just shaved it myself as I find waxing too painful!

Does anyone think they're starting to show yet? I'm definitely more bloated in the evenings and my belly is quite round but always had a little pot belly so hard to tell! Started taking pics now as I'm 10+1.

Booked an early reassurance scan for next week as our 12 weeks scan is after Christmas and we want to be able to tell extended family if (fingers crossed!) everything is well!

Sorry for the long post and the absence but been really busy with work, but have been keeping up with you all on the thread!

StargazyDrifter · 14/12/2018 20:39

LOL Kentishgal, exactly that. Sofa and watching DH eat a curry.

Onestep2 · 14/12/2018 20:40

Arghhh she makes my blood boil. 😂😂

For those who never seen the drama a few weeks ago Claire is my obnoxious horrible bitch of a SIL who was born and bred in the depths of hell.

Appeared unannounced wanting to drop off DSD Xmas (no idea why here as she is very good friends with DSD mum) anyway waltzs in and sits down. Hi how you blah blah blah then Convo went as follows 😂😂
"Did you know "sophie" is pregnant?"
Oh that's nice...
"i thought you would be pregnant by now"
ohh did you....
"Are you even trying for a baby"
No not yet
"Will you tell me when you are"
No probably not
"Why not" (has cheek to look hurt)
We won't tell anyone
"But you would tell me if you were pregnant wouldn't you"
OFFFF COURSE CLAIRE.
"Good. I thought you were already pregnant and that's why u had put on a bit of weight" (actual has the audacity to poke my tummy)
no no not pregnant just enjoying no stress of trying to fit into a wedding dress any more.
"I hope your not planning on putting on all the weight you lost"
grits teeth No no diet starts Jan Claire..... Now as MN says.... off you fuck. 😂😂😂

Honest to god. N now I've actually point blank lied to her face I can guarantee that it will cause drama at a later date 😂😂😂

#offyoufuckclaire

RooKangaroo · 14/12/2018 20:45

I can't believe how brazen she is. Seems to think she's really special.... Hmm

It must be so frustrating not being able to call her out on her rudeness and cheekery, in fear of a family argument :(

TwinkleDay · 14/12/2018 21:04

Omg @onestep2 what an absolute cow... and pokes your tummy I would of flipped my lid by then... go and slash her tyres in the middle of the night or put laxatives in her coffee!!

Onestep2 · 14/12/2018 21:15

Honestly she is a different breed 😂 she pulls this shit with everyone so it's not just me. Lol i remember my mum had just got her kitchen renovated and Claire walked in, turned her nose up and told my mum she couldn't tell the difference hahaha then when my sister got her boobs done claire said they looked great if you were into the hooker look hahahahaha i could sit here for days and tell you all the things she has said.... we all laugh about it but it really takes some serious will power not to knock her the fuck out at the time 😂😂 DB abso worships the ground she walks on anol. She has him wrapped round his little finger 😂😂😂

ReginaPhalange89 · 14/12/2018 21:42

Omg ! How do you have the restrain to not kill her 😂😂😂 that's hilarious but also incredibly rude haha.

Sorry guys but I certainly am not one of those people who doesn't care when they're in labour.... Both babies I've jumped in the shower , shaved my legs, my lady bits and washed, dried and straightened my hair 😂😂 with my second I was literally contracting in the shower every 30 seconds. No wonder I only just made it to the birthing centre 😂😂

StargazyDrifter · 14/12/2018 22:34

Oh my, Onestep2! That's some serious self control on your part. What a complete and utter nightmare she is. Wonder what's set her off. Does DSD's mother know your news, by any chance? I would flinch if someone poked my tummy, pregnant or not. And I'd tell them to leave pretty promptly. 😒

Did you have a good time with work? And did you tell them your news?

GiGi18 · 15/12/2018 00:04

@Onestep2 "born and bred in the depths of hell" is such a good line, hahaha! What a piece of work she sounds, she obv has a very sad life if she's so obsessed with others. Sounds like she has a real sense of entitlement!

Just back from my Christmas party, lasted till 11.30! I ended up telling two of my work friends so I had some backup! I think a few other people were onto me, kept asking e if it was gin or water I was on, and someone tried to buy me a shot. I actually mumbled something about an early start then ran away! Hahah! Didn't know what else to do. The good thing is the next time I see everyone in work I'll be able to tell as it will be after my scan.

X

ememem84 · 15/12/2018 08:40

Works do tonight. Plan is to get everyone else sufficiently drunk enough not to notice I’m not drinking. Dh is coming too so I can have some backup.

Feeling awful this morning. Dh has bought me pancakes and tea. He’s a legend.

Wow Claire sounds like a piece of work. Poor you!

MakeAWhish · 15/12/2018 09:17

Why hasn't Claire fucked off yet?! What a piece of work @Onestep2 I fear a back lash when you announce 😬
Had my work do last night, it was a BYOB quiz night and I totally got away with just bringing tonic water - no one questioned a thing. Phew! Xx

BirthdayKake · 15/12/2018 10:05

Eek, sorry, I'm one of those who tries to look good in labour 😂 last baby I was having contractions while I showered, shaved and did my hair and make up. Then redid hair and make up when the baby was about an hour old. I can't help it!

Rose1213 · 15/12/2018 10:16

Am I a bit late to the party to join? I'm 8+1, due around 26th July! Feeling like the first trimester is like the tww but 1000 times worse. Not helped by hyperemesis gravidium Sad Feel like I'm losing my mind not being able to talk to people about being pregnant yet in real life!

StargazyDrifter · 15/12/2018 10:51

Good to hear of all the Christmas party news! Sounds like you've all done brilliantly. Since I was signed off sick for 2 weeks I didn't have to go to mine, phew. Also hoping all will be well at the 12 week scan on the 28th and that I can then tell everyone why I vanished at one of the busiest times for the team.

Welcome Rose, totally agree on the 2ww comparison!

So our supermarket shop devliery this morning FORGOT the doughnuts! 😭😭😭 I seem to be needing a lot of carbs. Last night had my anti-sickness tablets, which don't make me feel good at all, to enable me to eat rice and samosas from DH's takeaway. Very satisfying. Back on the crazy nasty nightmares though. All my childhood anxieties in one jumble. Ugh.

On looking good in labour, I've never been in labour but would probably want to try and get myself into a decent state, if possible, simply because I suspect the day or two after will be lost in a kind of blur and it would get me down feeling all fuzzy and grubby on top of that. I only have experience of major surgery a while back to compare it to. When I was out of ECU two days later I felt pretty disgusting and wanted to get hair washed etc asap even though I couldn't yet walk. They were lovely to me then.

How everyone feeling this morning. And, Laburna have you had the party? All ok?

Beckanne90 · 15/12/2018 11:30

I’ve been missing off here for a while, still trying to keep up but been super busy. Sorry for all of the losses, it is heartbreaking. Hello to all the new ladies, and congratulations on all the scans.

Still not had my booking at 10+1 had to cancel my last appointment as it clashed with work and I couldn’t get the time off...employer still doesn’t know as it happens my manager is my mum Hmm

@Birthdaykake, I’m with you....I’ve got five and I’ve been in shower shaved done hair and makeup while in Labour. Minus the last one as it was abit of an emergency dash ha.

I’m starting to feel wo wiped out these days, struggling with late work shifts and 5 fairly young children, I’m passing out on my nights off by 8pm 😂😂.

@Onestep Claire sounds really nice Confused not. Oh dear why are some people...well arses.

Onestep2 · 15/12/2018 12:18

aww claire has been around for 10 years more or less. shes always been like this, we all just have different ways to handle her. Mine is to just grit my teeth and play nice.... which pains my soul as it completly goes against my firey personality LOL. And i do actively try and avoid her where i can which helps. its honestly not worth the drama to call her out on being an evil succibus coz then she goes greeting to DB and he gets involved and says we bully her etc etc. ive not got the patience for drama so i just go along with it.

@MakeaWhish Oh defo there will be drama when she finds out, me and my mum were talking about it and mum suggested maybe telling her before we make announcement on Xmas day to make her feel special. (Claire and DB wont be at mums for Xmas dinner coz her fam is always more important. OBVIOUSLY)

@StargazeyDrifter telling the work went fine. i was so nervous, think because im the only girl in the team and the youngest by a long shot lol but they were all over the moon for me. it will be another reason for them to add to the list to take the piss out me hahaha

@Birthdaykake..... i will defo want to look half decent after labour. l will have to try and time appointments to hopefully have lashes and brows done b4 due date (to be fair i always have semi perm lashes done) and i have already considered that if labour kicks off during the day to ask if my hair dresser will put all my hair back in big messy plaits haha too far??????

is everyone planning on letting family know over Xmas? how are you all planning to do it?
