Apple and peanut butter is a great snack, I work on a nut free site so like to enjoy at weekends.

I made a nice quiche the other day too, getting low on the massive lasagne I made back on board 2 so will be making another shortly 😂

AIDE2424 · 13/12/2018 21:13

Just had my works christmas party such a change from last year, dancing singing pogues at the top of my voice and this year no drinking and already on my way home after dropping the others in town for the rest of there night But I’ve still enjoyed it..: counting down the hours till my scan in the morning it’s at 8.15 so least I haven’t got hours to wait tomorrow for it praying everything ok with baby pip and I can begin to relax ( who am I kidding) xx

ememem84 · 13/12/2018 21:53

AIDE it’s my works do on Saturday evening. I’m looking forward to it (even though I grudgingly changed me menu order today from pheasant pate and brioche then rare steak to butternut squash soup and turkey.

So can probably sip a glass of bubbly initially then sip a glass of wine with the meal. With ds I had the odd drink (wine only) and my dr has said that occasionally it’s fine.

I’m hoping that everyone else gets sufficiently sloshed so they don’t notice I’m only drinking water. Or have nurses the same glass of wine for the entire party! Dh is coming with me so he will polish off the wine for me. He’s such a trooper.

I had paper notes with ds (in jersey) no notes as yet with dc2 but booking appointment with midwife on Thursday so we shall see.

blueeyedviking · 14/12/2018 07:51

Thanks @stargazydrifter - sounds like you have a great GP. I'm not telling work until the New Year but next week should be better as my manager is off. Going to try and work from home a bit.

I hope everyone has a lovely Friday. I'm Going to try an eat loads today to see if that helps!

StargazyDrifter · 14/12/2018 08:02

That's an excellent goal for the day! I'm going to join you. That and drinking loads. I've been getting cracked lips and, while not deliberately, I think I've been slightly holding back on drinks at work because they can make me feel sicky and I immediately need the loo too. Home today, should make it easier.

ememem84 · 14/12/2018 08:07

I need to drink more too. So am upping Lyn liquid intake today. I found last time I felt sicker if I hadn’t drink much.

RooKangaroo · 14/12/2018 08:36

Fingers crossed for the scan this morning @AIDE2424! Let us know how it goes x

@Kentishgal, ha! I'm seeing my dreams as at least some payback to me for how bad the sickness is. Have barely got out of bed for almost three weeks now :(

@thedust, I'm expecting exactly the same to happen to me when I have my proper dating scan. I'm 9+4 by LMP, but think I'm more like 8+4 due to when I ovulated. It's also a bit disappointing to think you've got so far still to go, isn't it. Glad the scan went well though!

@StargazyDrifter, it's definitely better to just be signed off. My sickness really comes and goes over the day, so I can't guarantee when I'll be feeling up for work and when I won't. Hope you can get some proper rest.

Laburna · 14/12/2018 08:37

I'm having really awful.vlood sugar issues in the mornings, it's crashing so low after I've had my breakfast. Feel a bit guilty because the foods helping keep the sickness away are not GD friendly, which I'm guessing is what's causing the issue, and feel like it's inevitable I'm going to get diagnosed in January when I have my test.

Can't win :(

RooKangaroo · 14/12/2018 08:48

Ah, @Laburna, I'm sorry. That sounds tough.

I'm no expert on this, but I think just do what you need to do to get through this phase right now. If there are things that keep the sickness away (or alleviate it in any way), their worth their weight in gold. Sickness can be so debilitating.

Fingers crossed it eases soon and you can get back to a more normal diet for you, that doesn't have the same problems.

AIDE2424 · 14/12/2018 08:58

All fine here! Little heart beating away! I thought I was around 7 weeks 5 but measuring at 7 week 4 so only one day out 😍 LMP dates me at 8 weeks Wednesday! So relieved and happy now, still have my private scan on Sunday that I’m still having just because I wanna see baby pip again!

Hope everyone is well ❤️

RooKangaroo · 14/12/2018 09:02

Yay @AIDE2424! Lovely news! x

Onestep2 · 14/12/2018 09:08

Fab news on your scan!

@stargazyDrifter I've always been a sucker for dry chapped lips. I swear by the wer blue round Vaseline pots. I literally have one in my bag, one on my desk and one at home. Great for the cold weather!

I'm sitting on train into town for a meeting and then work Xmas lunch day out.... have a full face of make up , hair all curled and sitting perfectly and a nice sparkly outfit .... feel best I have in ages lol (I Legit roll out of bed and into work with a messy bun and no make up haha)

Telling work team today anol. Nervous hahaha xx

Onestep2 · 14/12/2018 09:12

To be fair getting ready didn't go without a hitch.... was running late And thought was going to miss train. DH dropped me off just as train was coming and I had to SPRINT over the bridge 😂😂 all while DH and DSD were screaming out the window RUN FOREST. Platform was packed too. Mortified. 😂😂

RooKangaroo · 14/12/2018 09:15

😂 That's hilarious, @Onestep2! Your DH and DSD sounds like a lot of fun.

I love days when everything goes smoothly in terms of hair, clothes, make-up, etc. Bet you look beautiful!

Belmo · 14/12/2018 09:28

Haha onestep2! Good luck telling work.

That’s fab news AIDE2424

Off to Christmas market this afternoon, looking forward to all the yummy snacks Grin it is unbelievably cold here today though!

cravingmilkshake · 14/12/2018 09:38

Hi all,

First doctors appointment today (they wouldn't see me until I had missed two periods) I am 8 weeks exactly today with first.

He said he is contact midwife team now and I should here from them next week with a booking in appoint between 10 and 11 weeks! It is starting to feel real now!

I have an early private scan on Monday evening just to confirm that there is a baby and a heart beat.

Twistering · 14/12/2018 09:54

@Roo that is hilarious on dreams - I want to go out with Harvey!!

@AIDE (and anyone else I've missed) yey on scans!

@Laburna & @StargazyDrifter sorry to hear you are feeling so shite.

Man, I am glad it's Friday. Working from home today and fear is going to be procrastination central! Probably need to stay off here :)

Kentishgal · 14/12/2018 09:56

AIDE2424 great news on the scan!

I bought travel sickness bands yesterday as midwife recommended them and there were very good reviews of them online for morning sickness. Been wearing them since yesterday lunchtime and still feel as sick as ever 😡. Fed up of sucking mints. I time record at work- meant to do 6.6 chargeable hours a day but mine has been nearer 4 for the last few weeks - I'm going to get such a bollocking - it's stressing me out but feel too ill to do anything more.

@AIDE2424 that's great news re your scan!

I told another friend last night - text her a photo of an ASOS maternity dress and casually asked what she thought. She was like - that's maternity are you trying to tell me something?! I said maybe...! She was over the moon for us and also full of very realistic and practical advice re mat clothes and pregnancy pillows (She recommended an £11 one from Argos that I'm gonna get in the new year and will still leave space for DH in the bed lol!)

TheScaredyKat · 14/12/2018 10:09

Great news! @AIDE2424

@Laburna I think perhaps you should see the doctor asap if you're worried about GD. It can be very dangerous, DH has type 1 and you definitely don't want to wait until January to get diagnosed if that is the problem!

This is perhaps tmi but I have developed a reddish patch on my left boob. It looks like the colour of my nipple has sort of spilled out and expanded weirdly onto my lower boob. Is that normal? They don't really hurt anymore but were agony a few weeks ago.

ReginaPhalange89 · 14/12/2018 10:13

Has anyone suffered with blurry vision ? I was fine earlier but just suddenly feel like I can't see /focus properly. I was about to get my wee one dressed to take her to soft play but probably safer if I don't drive !

Kentishgal · 14/12/2018 10:18

Reginaphalange89 could it be an optical migraine?
