I hadn't heard that about morning sickness. I was very nauseous but never sick - I wonder if that's a sign I'm having a boy. I don't really want to know if I'm truthful, though DH does. I may have a gender scan done in June if I can, then get them to write it in a Father's Day card for him so that he knows. But if we find out at 20 weeks, he won't be able to keep that in. But with 6 weeks to go he won't be going far or getting that drunk by June 16 so if he knows he won't spill the beans to me.

Delilah7 · 28/12/2018 16:17

See I've been awfully sick yet I've heard mixed thoughts on what mine is. I always think really sick means girl however some of my friends have been boys!

ReginaPhalange89 · 28/12/2018 16:23

My two previous pregnancies I was sick , really sick ! Between 6-16 weeks everything I ate came back up from morning till about 3pm!
With this baby so far (9+3) I've not had much at all, the odd day feeling nauseous and sick once or twice (usually me sticking my fingers down my throat to relieve the nausea though!) . Feels completely different to the last 2 ! So I'd be interested to see if it's a boy this time .

Has anyone had much backache ? My lower back has been quite sore over the last few days ! Not sure if it's pregnancy related or I've done something.

MakeAWhish · 28/12/2018 16:30

I have 2 DD's and had no sickness whatsoever with them. I've had a bit of nausea in this pregnancy but luckily no sickness. God knows what makes a difference but I can't really see how having a todger or not can effect it 😂
With regards to back ache - I slipped a disc the week before I fell pregnant - and it's only just felt better this week! I'm dreading getting more lower back ache as the pregnancy progresses because it really was the pits. But I think it's quite common to get it @ReginaPhalange89 . Go careful. X

BirthdayKake · 28/12/2018 16:39

I think it's because girl babies have more hormones

Twistering · 28/12/2018 16:43

Thanks ladies.

Wish had some bicarb in house! 😂

ReginaPhalange89 · 28/12/2018 16:47

I honestly think it must just be down to the person /pregnancy. Me and both sisters have all girls and neither of them had any sickness where as I had it terrible. Must just be luck ! Lol

ememem84 · 28/12/2018 16:47

With ds I was nauseous but never sick. I’m feeling like that now. And am convinced boy again.

Although I did think ds was a girl for ages. Convinced myself.

I’ve also been wanting the same foods. Crisps. And sweet things. And fruit. Cannot get enough fruit. Except for over Christmas when the only fruit I ate was chocolate orange.

I go from being convinced I’m further along than I am and that I’m having twins to not looking pregnant at all. Supposedly around 8 weeks. I’m convinced I can feel movement though.

Re sickness etc. My mum had none. Just nausea. She also had very quick deliveries with both me and dsis. With ds it was 4 hours start to finish. Apparently we don’t mess around and he’s been raring to go ever since.

toria twins. Wow. Xxx I joked with dh about it being twins. And he almost cried. A pregnancy suprise is one thing. A twin preggo suprise....not actually a funny joke!

Squ1ggle · 28/12/2018 17:18

I felt from very early on last time that I was having a boy which turned out to be true, this time I'm pretty convinced it's a girl. No real rhyme or reason either time, just a feeling. Hopefully I'll find out on the 19th of Feb at my 20 week scan eeek!

GiGi18 · 28/12/2018 17:31

Bicarbonate test said girl and Chinese chart boy! Everyone thinks I'm having a girl but I feel it's a boy! Like a few others I feel I'll be finding out for other people rather than myself because I'm sick of people assuming it's a girl when there's every chance of it being a boy! I'll be equally happy with either.

Lovely to see all the scan pics, I've got mine on the 8th Jan which I feel is finally in sight now Christmas is over and done with!

We've also just had an offer accepted on our first house so looks like the next few months are going to be super busy and exciting, can't wait to decorate.

Trying2bemum · 28/12/2018 17:38

Thanks @StargazyDrifter - we're in London so hopefully could get that. Please do post if you get chance xx

Trying2bemum · 28/12/2018 17:40

Congrats on your house offer @GiGi18

Lovely news on the positive scans 🥰

wombatron · 28/12/2018 17:43

@Trying2bemum have a look down thread, she posted and tagged me earlier today Smile

Trying2bemum · 28/12/2018 17:46

Found it !! Thank you @wombatron -
I thought I had read through everything but it escaped me

@FuzzyPixel how are you feeling? Hope the gp was some help

StargazyDrifter · 28/12/2018 18:12

Another good one! EDD brought back to 7/7/19, which is as I had always said going by my positive OPK. Seems that was more accurate than early EPU measurements this time.

What a drama lama already. When emptying my bladder didn't help get a better view, I had to jump up and down and sort of dance around halfway through the scan (not graceful, and with all that jelly going everywhere!) to get a better view of the baby for the sonographer. In the end we had to go with the internal scan, was there almost an hour! 🙈

The baby was lovely and we saw a few waves and a bit of gulping of the amniotic fluid (mmmm, looks delicious, not!). Big feet. I can't believe how defined everything is already. Delighted and a little bit incredulous to have got this far. 😆

MakeAWhish · 28/12/2018 18:21

Lovely scan @StargazyDrifter ! So cute! Do you know why they couldn't get a view abdominally? I'm a bit of a porker and am worried they won't be able to see through my jelly 😱😂

StargazyDrifter · 28/12/2018 18:28

MakeAWhish I think it was because of the baby's position rather than jelly - anothe one for this thread's glossary! I always carry all my weight on my tummy, in a little pot belly, but they didn't seem to mind. The issue seemed to be that baby was 'standing up' and that position didn't allow a good view of the baby's heart and bladder (to think they are even there at this stage, let alone that they can be seen, is staggering). So I had to try and make it shift inside for a better angle, which it wouldn't! I suspecy any weight is fine as long as the angles are right.

StargazyDrifter · 28/12/2018 18:29

Twistering I meant to add, lovely scan and I'm pretty sure I can see your baby's hand in the background doing a gentle wave. 😍

ReginaPhalange89 · 28/12/2018 18:29

Can anyone recommend a particular pregnancy pillow? I got rid of my last one thinking we'd have no more 🙈it was huge though, not sure if a smaller one would be just as good ?

wombatron · 28/12/2018 18:51

Regina I've just started looking at these. I've read good things about Dreamgenii from John Lewis but I have no idea really. Am very much going to be relying on you people who have done this before to guide me!

Twistering · 28/12/2018 18:51

Whoop @StargazyDrifter!! Wonderful! Completely understand the incredulous bit. And what a little tinker...already!

@Regina I have no idea but DH bought me a Sanggol one that apparently my best friend recommended, for Xmas. Feel a bit weird about having it so haven’t even got it out yet but looks bloody massive!

StargazyDrifter · 28/12/2018 19:30

Those pillows look enormous! Where's DH honing to sleep, then? 😂 Have also been meaning to try and find one. I've just sort of been hugging a normal pillow for now, somehow helps to have it between my knees.

They just look so big ! Lol. My last one was quite big too but it was a funny shape, think it was a Summer infant one . I'll have to have a look ! My OH works nightshift anyway so suppose it doesn't matter if its enormous, well we rarely get a night in bed together !

Jxtina86 · 28/12/2018 19:49

@ReginaPhalange89 I got a V shaped pillow and I love it. It's not pregnancy specific, more orthopaedic but it's doing the trick so far and doesn't take up masses of room. It was recommended by a friend who said she used that and a normal pillow between her knees and it did the trick.
