Go wigglbum 💕
My 2 just looked like smooshed baked beans but that was at 7+3. Next scan due 27th assuming this cold hasn't killed the 3 of us.... Can you tell I'm feeling sorry for myself 😂

StargazyDrifter · 19/12/2018 23:28

TwinkleDay ❤️❤️❤️

StargazyDrifter · 19/12/2018 23:32

Toria73 I had a horrific cold a few weeks ago, it was pretty exhausting. Had fresh ginger and fresh lemon in huge quantities, steeped in boiling water. I think drinking lots of fluid, and preferably warm, helped. Also had to have paracetamol because of fever, keep an eye on it because after a certain point the fever can stop certain enzymes that develop the baby. I can't remember if it was about 38 or 39... MW said better to take paracetamol at that stage than have the fever. I also found a warm (not hot) bath helped the stuffiness. Feel better soon!

Hi all,

I've hit 9 weeks today. Very excited 😆. Thinking we might tell family on Christmas 🎄

Hope you are all doing ok xx

TwinkleDay · 20/12/2018 07:45

@ReginaPhalange89 we haven’t really thought about gender guessing wanting it to be a surprise... but your comment will have me thinking all day now. Would love one of each in the end so planning on waiting to find out until birth with wigglebum and next one will find out earlier as I love love love to Be organised x

Meg1389 · 20/12/2018 07:49

Not checked in for a bit. Just been so busy with trying to get sorted for Xmas and when I get in from work I’m usually feel crappy, sicky and headache and just got to bed lol

I got my scan date through the other day... 7th jan and I’ll be 13w 5 days! Feels ages away and probably won’t be telling many people at Xmas as planned. Never mind it will have to be a new year surprise.

Hi all,

Haven't been on for a while as I have t been able to keep up! I've basically been working (when I can), sleeping/lying down or being sick. But finally the school holidays are here and I have a moment, coinciding with feeling slightly better today! This is my first one and although you hear about it and think you know what's coming nothing prepares you! It's not even the being sick, luckily I've been limited to once or twice a day it's the constant nausea and exhaustion. But maybe I'm coming to the end soon? Fingers crossed.

I am not wanting to eat anything, but almost constantly nibbling does help the nausea slightly. I'm also off my fave Diet Coke @ReginaPhalange89 (I think it was you that said the same). Have lost nearing a stone tho so that's positive (weight that I could have done with losing before but never could). Midwife not worried so I'm taking it as a positive.

I have booked a private (groupon so only £39) on sat as my proper one is not til New Year's Eve and I want to tell a few more people at Xmas (we will be up with my family in Scotland and so want to tell them in person). So exciting!

Hope everyone having scans today and in the next fed days gets on well and anyone still working can get through the next few days as well as can be.

ememem84 · 20/12/2018 12:52

Beautiful sunny day here today too. Have just walked the 15/20 minutes from work to drs where I’m now waiting for my midwife appointment. Just peed in a pot. The glamour.....

xine15 · 20/12/2018 15:02

Someone said to me right at the start get ready to give a lot of blood and pee in a lot of pots. Fun times!

Jxtina86 · 20/12/2018 15:29

I've never had blood taken in my life up until now. I've had four tests in the last 3 months now - 3 of them in the last 4 weeks!

Re the peeing - I was told they wanted a mid-flow sample so I had to start, stop, place the cup, start again. I can't imagine that's going to be fun or as controlled later on in pregnancy...!

TwinkleDay · 20/12/2018 15:34

At work we have just had a sprout and red cabbage tasting session... I don’t think I’m going to need to worry about moving slow.. will be self propelled all the way home 😂

ememem84 · 20/12/2018 15:44

Apparently I’m 8 weeks. Scan is 21 January. Edd 4 August.

Laburna · 20/12/2018 16:44

My screening has come back as high risk, 1 in 10. Have to go in tomorrow to talk to them about further testing. Just feel nothing, like I knew something would happen.

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 20/12/2018 16:54

Oh shit @Laburna i'm so sorry! I hope further testing will throw up some positive news as there is still a chance it's all still completely ok 💜

BirthdayKake · 20/12/2018 16:57

Sorry Laburna - but hopefully you will have good news x

StargazyDrifter · 20/12/2018 17:11

Laburna Ow so very sorry to hear, that's a huge worry and your head must be full of all sort of questions. I'm so sorry. ☹️ Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed.

DH and I have been talking about NIPT testing if similar happened. Happy to share where we got to researching stuff as and when, if helpful. ARC the charity were pretty useful too.xx

Michelle0507 · 20/12/2018 17:21

I don't mean to sound rude but what tests is it you've had.

I've had some suspicious stomach pain today and feel like my boobs aren't as heavy, pretty much convinced myself things aren't right. I'm over 11w no bumb no signs. :(

Laburna · 20/12/2018 17:24

@stargazydrifter we have looked at the NIPT test, but it's not diagnostic and although it is more accurate than the NHS blood screening test, it would still only give a risk factor. I think we'll go for the CVS test which can be done now, although there's a 1 in 100 or 200 chance of MC.

I'm slightly hopeful that the problem is going to be my age, which is high risk, and a low papp-a which causes low growth (and could have been the cause of DS being IUGR).

StargazyDrifter · 20/12/2018 17:39

Laburna that's very true about it not being diagnostic and won't put your mind at rest now I suppose. The CVS is such a tough call, but the only way to know for sure. Hopefully they can do it all for you quickly.

blueeyedviking · 20/12/2018 17:40

@Laburna so sorry to hear that. Must be very overwhelming with all the information you now have to process.

My best friend had the CVS test a few years ago, is a doctor and recommends it is you feel a need to know bases on those initial results (as many do, I would).

Laburna · 20/12/2018 17:56

It's the risk of MC that is making me wary. But the information seems to suggest that there's not a definitive link between the test and the MCs.

blueeyedviking · 20/12/2018 18:02

@Laburna that would make me wary too. I can ask my doctor friend (she is a specialist in pregnancies) if you need an additional opinion on anything.

TwinkleDay · 20/12/2018 20:39

@laburna sorry to hear this worrying news fingers cross for you with further tests.. how old are you if you don’t mind me asking. It’s not always bad news they are just being cautious xxx

DianaBlythe · 20/12/2018 21:07

@Laburna - bless you, sounds so tough with the uncertainty and deciding what to do. Even 1 in 10 is a 90% chance of things being fine though. Not that that makes this any easier.
