I still haven't had a concrete date for my 12w scan! 12w next Thursday so imagine I'll be nearly 14w by the time i get mine. Will have to chase the midwife again if I don't get the letter this week!

Capybaras · 19/12/2018 13:41

@StargazyDrifter I didn't have to give a urine sample for my booking in. Got one to take with me for my 12w scan though! It's really sad that people will make it up!

StargazyDrifter · 19/12/2018 13:43

wombatron when's your EDD? That does feel like ages!

Capybaras definitely keep an eye on it, there are some tests they can't do after 14 weeks, I'd ring them.

HchyScott · 19/12/2018 13:50

Congratulations @twinkleday😁😘

ememem84 · 19/12/2018 13:52

thedust I’m in jersey. Everything is more expensive here.

We don’t know how far along I am so I’m twitching for a dating scan as a pp has said there are things they can’t test for after 14 weeks.

Tomorrow. Tomorrow I’m at midwife appointment. So should know more then.

wombatron · 19/12/2018 13:52

Stary 29th or 27th July!! Based on LMP. Though I think I will be pushed back a few days. Depends on who you ask as everyone tells me different thinks. According to me I'm about 8+3. My viability scan put me 3 days behind this. My midwife on Monday put me at 2 days behind this. Who fucking knows! All I know is it's a long bloody way off!

I'm glad everyone's scans went well. I'm just hoping as I'm 'bringing up the rear' that I'm potentially the last one out of us that would have bad news and that everyone now progresses happily and healthily

ReginaPhalange89 · 19/12/2018 14:07

@wombatron I'm the exact same hun, my EDD isn't til 29th July so I'm not 12 weeks til around 13th January! Feels forever away when you find out 9dpo 🙈 I had a reassurance scan that put me at 30th July so I'll end up being August I'm sure

StargazyDrifter · 19/12/2018 14:09

wombatron ufff that's all very frustrating! Not long in the grand scheme of things, but still an agonisingly long time in first trimester days!

StargazyDrifter · 19/12/2018 14:21

Ow how frustrating for you too, Regina! It's the flip-side of 'only' having a 2ww, rather than 2 months like apparently it used to be. None of this is easy! 😒

Michelle0507 · 19/12/2018 14:58

I didn't get any notifications on this post.

Glad the scan went well.

Yes I'll grab a pot from the GP. Any idea why they want a sample before the scan? It's £5 for the scan picture!!!!!!

wombatron · 19/12/2018 15:17

@Michelle0507 I was told they collect a sample each time you go in. They check for infections and other things

ememem84 · 19/12/2018 15:25

Yeah michelle every time I went when I was preggo with ds I had to pee in a pot. I got quite at it!

ememem84 · 19/12/2018 15:25

*good at it

Chinks123 · 19/12/2018 18:34

Well dds Christmas T-shirt announcing she was going to be a big sister never turned up. I’ve taken that as an omen not to announce at Christmas Grin I’m actually relieved, with me only being 8 weeks Christmas Day instead of the 10 I thought I would be, I was feeling pressured since I’d already ordered the T-shirt. Now going to wait until 12 weeks. We waited till 20 with dd but I swear I’m already showing!

I’m so happy and excited, but dreading telling my dm is putting a dampener on things.

RooKangaroo · 19/12/2018 18:35

Congrats @TwinkleDay! So pleased it went well x

I feel really shitty this evening. Sorry for not reading through the whole thread. I've had my toddler today as DH had to work and no childcare available. She's been amazing when I've had to run to the loo and be sick every now and then. "I want be sick too!" 😆

I feel so guilty for not giving her a 'proper' Mummy and daughter day though. I've tried to keep her busy - we did present wrapping this morning, made salt dough things before lunch, went to a playgroup this afternoon, etc. But the whole time I've been desperately putting on my happy face and trying to engage with her. When all I want to do is crawl into bed. I have massive guilt about everything in my life at the moment :(

(Sorry for the woe-is-me post. Hopefully I'll be back on form tomorrow)

TwinkleDay · 19/12/2018 19:50

@rookangaroo and every one else that has had it bad with sickness I do feel for you, I can only imagine it will catch up with me further down the line or another pregnancy.. brave ladies xx

When I was in the waiting room today there was a glass screen and a lady walked past twice who I used to work with who has a medical background I was so shocked, she was lovely but didn’t stop to talk, probably as I was sat in baby central lol 😂

Toria73 · 19/12/2018 19:57

How do you treat a cold (sore throat, cough, runny nose & chesty cough) without drugs & booze?? The thought of honey & lemon turns my stomach.
Everything I looked at on the shelf in Superdrug had do not take if pregnant or breastfeeding & the pharmacist was finished for the day.
All advice welcome...

ememem84 · 19/12/2018 20:13

toria peppermint tea. Any hot drink will soothe a sore throat. Boiled sweets too.

My midwife last time told me that paracetamol was fine and to take it in normal doses. But if you’re worried check.

I’ve just told dh I don’t feel pregnant any more. When this happened last time I was 14/16 weeks. I cannot be that far along. Aaah.

Midwife appointment tomorrow and am absolutely hoping I have a scan date by then.

I am concerned that my lack of sick feeling means something is wrong. But I’ve had no symptoms of anything being wrong (does that make sense?) although have no experience of things going the other way so no idea.

ReginaPhalange89 · 19/12/2018 20:14

@Toria I don't think there's much you can take at all 😣 you're not even allowed lemsip etc ! Think it's pretty much paracetamol and rest !

Toria73 · 19/12/2018 20:21

Thank you both, I was afraid of that. I'm never truly convinced that paracetamol does much. It sure can't beat the knockout effects of 2 Beecham's max strength cold & flu capsules taken with a v strong hot toddy 😂

TwinkleDay · 19/12/2018 20:37

@ememem84 I haven’t had any symptoms since week 8 really.. other than being tired, I was generally shocked to see wigglebum in there today.

@toria73 I had a shitty cold when I was 5-6 weeks and I was drinking herbal ginger and lemon tea.. which helped and lots of hot water to breath in vapour to help with decongestion and innocent smoothies pack full of the good stuff .. hope that helps.. have you had flu jab yet ?

TwinkleDay · 19/12/2018 20:40

Please find attached 😍 wigglebum xx

July 2019 - Part 5!!
ememem84 · 19/12/2018 20:55

toria I could murder a hot toddy right now.

Just hopped into bed. And I actually suspect I’m further along than we think. There is a definite bump. Which is crazy. That was not there yesterday. Ffs. Am I super speedy preggo?!

Dh says to not sweat it. He would

I’m also feeling “blocked” so have taken a fibre drink. Mmmmm delicious. And will have another in the morning. Mmmmm.

ememem84 · 19/12/2018 20:57

Yay wigglebum!!

Before ds was born he was referred to as wigglepuppy. And then after he was born. He was a right wiggly baby. I felt like I was being tenderised from the inside.

The. When he popped out he’s given us both good pummellings. He gave me a black eye when he was around 4 weeks old (and couldn’t control his head) clocked me right in the eye socket. Then cried about it. Silly wiggles.

ReginaPhalange89 · 19/12/2018 21:32

@TwinkleDay awww what a lovely photo ! You can see all the little details already like the eye sockets etc ! Also very clear shot of the nub, have you posted a gender guess thread ? I'd guess a girl based on the nub! Not an expert though haha. Always struggle with the position of the spine
