@wombatron I had my booking in yesterday too and the same thing happened to me with the urine sample. I ended up having to down several cups of water and I still only managed 5ml! I think their reaction and eye roll at first gave me stage fright. They gave me a couple of tubes to take home so next time I'll just take it with me in case they need another one 🤣

Apart from that it all went well. Scan three weeks today, hope it comes round fast!

I've finished work till after Christmas now. Having to shop for some new clothes today because basically nothing fits me. And trying to finish my Christmas shopping too. Just had a Burger King for lunch, not doing myself any favours am I?!

ememem84 · 18/12/2018 13:19

onestep to be fair, I think it would depend on circumstance. I know I said what I said in my earlier post but if it’s cane back as 10% survival or something equally as heartbreaking I think I’d have to make a decision. Would it be easy to deal with? Nope. Would it be the right thing to end potential suffering? Yes. Would I feel guilty as hell?. Probably.

Laburna · 18/12/2018 13:25

All scanned and looking good, baby was a bit active. EDD has gone to 29th June. Meeting the consultant on the 31st and then have scans booked for February, April, May, and June (so far)

SnailorSwift · 18/12/2018 13:32

Just checking in, I've been missing for a bit! Constant exhaustion and nausea had me floored, thankfully not as sick now...but still totally exhausted.

Got exciting news - my Dsis is due 2 weeks after me!!!

Heading for a private scan tomorrow evening, can't wait!

Michelle0507 · 18/12/2018 13:43

In regards to tests me and my Partner have different views I've worked with young people for over 15 years a lot have had autism or a disability so to me if something comes back and they can actually enjoy life I'm okay, but the other half is the polar opposite! Apparently having downs is like the worst thing and you're instantly at a disadvantage - let's just say there will be no more discussion unless something comes back on the test results as I'm disgusted in his outlook!
I travelled 50 min to work today in the Derbyshire Dales felt sick and horrible so drove back home and went straight to bed feel a bit better now which is good as I have a safeguarding meeting this afternoon which I didn't want to miss!

Onestep2 · 18/12/2018 13:44

@ememem84 awww totally. It would depend on the circumstances 100%. I don't think you could ever predict what or how you would ever come to that kind of decision and I truly hope that none of us ever do. It would be absolutly heart breaking in any scenario.

Anyway we are all going to have healthy happy babies. ❤

ememem84 · 18/12/2018 14:38

Absolutely. Healthy all the way. That goes for all of yous guys too.

Chinks123 · 18/12/2018 14:49

Thankyou everyone Star Had my booking appointment today too, I forgot they take bloods and urine sample..I had to down a pint of water.

When is everyone announcing? We’d planned for xmas day, but with my dates being put back I’ll only be 8 and a half weeks...that’s too early isn’t it? Waited till nearly 20 weeks with dd, but really wanted to do it at Christmas!

TheScaredyKat · 18/12/2018 14:57

Great news @Laburna Congratulations!

@SnailorSwift ah that's lovely that your sister is due so close to you! So nice that you'll be able to share the whole pregnancy and then maternity leave aswell if you live nearby.

TheScaredyKat · 18/12/2018 15:01

@Chinks123 Me and the OH both told our parents and siblings quite early on because if anything did go wrong we would want them to know anyway so they might aswell know.
We just swore them to secrecy until we're ready to make it public.

GiGi18 · 18/12/2018 15:04

@SnailorSwift that's so nice. My sister is due at the end of jan so we should have about half our mat leave together. She's also asked me to be her second birth partner. X

RooKangaroo · 18/12/2018 15:12

Great news, @Laburna! So glad it went well.

@Kentishgal, I'm so sorry, what horrible news. I hope she's ok and this isn't 'it'. But either way, I hope you have support and friends and family to talk to and look after you.

ReginaPhalange89 · 18/12/2018 16:52

@chinks123 we're announcing to my parents/siblings this weekend as we won't see them Xmas day, then OHs family on Xmas day . I have a feeling we'll have to tell more of my family though, we have a big party on boxing day and they're going to know straight away if I'm not drinking

StargazyDrifter · 18/12/2018 16:57

Great news Laburna! Exciting that the 12 week scans are rolling in already.

Sorry to hear about your mum, Kentishgal, that's really horrid and after such a testing year, too. Don't try and be everyone's rock, you've got to make sure you're ok too. Sending hugs and good thoughts.

Hope that everyone feeling sicky and out of sorts is comfy and cosy somewhere. I also popped out to get some new stuff in the sales because nothing fits. That pretty much finished me off and I was sick in a bin in the street. Lovely. People probably thought I'd been at a Christmas lunch! 🙈

FuzzyPixel · 18/12/2018 17:14

I'm so keen for another scan. The last one was at 7+6, I'm now 9+3, and my 12 week scan is at 12+5.

I have been tempted to book a private scan, but the closest one to us is about an hour way! I'm not sure we would be suitable to drive home if it wasn't all good news. Hard call.

I feel for you @Stargazydrifter, the sickness is horrible but I haven't been sick anywhere not at home yet! That might be because I've had the ability to work from home though, so I've rarely left the house.

HchyScott · 18/12/2018 17:15

So 12 week scan done and I’ve got an active albeit awkward baby at 11+4 so only 2 days different from lmp dates. Due 5 July. Very clear but as soon as I’d been for a wee, songrapher had to give my tummy such a poke to get baby to move where he wanted! So surreal to see the baby jumping around on the screen! I think I’ll finally sleep well tonight 😁

blueeyedviking · 18/12/2018 17:32

I had my second midwife appointment today and she was amazing. I had a bit of a meltdown as im so exhausted combined with a lot of personal stress so she convinced me to take some days off work to sleep. So I'm now off until after Christmas..

My anxiety levels have increased massively and she encouraged me to book a private scan this week even tho my 12day scan is on Christmas Eve. I haven't had any yet and she said that if I can I should just to manage my anxiety and stress levels as she was so worried about me.

Also said its very normal with pain in stomach/side panels at this stage of pregnancy (11 + 4) in case anyone else is experiencing it.

StargazyDrifter · 18/12/2018 17:36

Aww Hchy how very lovely!

FuzzyPixel I know exactly what you mean about wanting a scan. The progress from 7 to 9 weeks was quite significant, it looked a lot more like a baby! I had one at 9 weeks in the end and it was reassuring. The reassurance only lasted a few days though! There's literally now way of knowing what the baby will do the day after. It's such an agonising wait!

blueeyedviking · 18/12/2018 17:49

@HchyScott @Laburna Amazing news for you both. So happy for you both.

Michelle0507 · 18/12/2018 17:52

Agree I had a scan at 6w then 8w3d and was stunned everything was still okay by 10w last week I'm a ball of anxiety again. :(

Today I feel rubbish feel sicky, I've dry heaved loads and slept loads but my tummy is making lots of noise and keep getting a bit of left side pain. For once I don't think it's bowel issues as I had a rather large movement this morning. Trying to tell my self it's symptoms and it's all good. Did the old google of 11w symptoms.

blueeyedviking · 18/12/2018 18:16

@Michelle0507 Im in 11 weeks as well and have pains in my side. My midwife said its super normal. Hope that reassures you a bit.

Michelle0507 · 18/12/2018 18:50

@blueeyedviking thank you. Have you got your 12w scan booked?

OMG my Partner is just taking the poo out of the cat liter box, we have 3 cats and OMG the smell it's never bothered me before. We're in separate rooms also, jeez maybe my sense of smell has changed!

ReginaPhalange89 · 18/12/2018 19:13

Is anyone else constantly feeling hungry but just not enjoying eating? 🙈
My appetite is ridiculous at the minute , I almost feel like I'm hungry sick and need to eat to feel better but then I don't 🙈 I feel like everything I eat is just sitting waiting to come back up! I was really looking forward to my dinner tonight and didn't enjoy it at all.

Also had my first craving earlier ... An empire biscuit! I had to go out in the pouring rain to get one because I couldn't stop thinking about it haha. Not something I'd normally choose either !

StargazyDrifter · 18/12/2018 19:39

Regina - this exactly, on the first part of your post. I was just saying at home that I've not enjoyed anything really for the last 8-9 weeks. 😭

Michelle0507 · 18/12/2018 19:50

I've been starving loads I eat and then feel so full and a bit sick, I think I need little and often. I really wanted pizza tonight so we had dominos I enjoyed it!
