The exhaustion has got me today.

I don’t remember feeling this tired with ds. But maybe that’s because I had no kids.

I slept for two hours this afternoon.

Dh needs a kick up the arse into helping round the house. He isn’t at present. He’s just moping and moaning that things aren’t getting done. In a “we really should be keeping on top of xyz” way. I’ve suggested he could do them. But funnily enough nothings been done.

Sigh.

Fingers crossed for a scan appointment next week. I’m getting twitchy now.

TwinkleDay · 16/12/2018 20:32

Who has scans this week? Any Wednesday buddies ? I just want to know all is ok.. getting a bit anxious now. Come on baba xx

Laburna · 16/12/2018 20:37

My 12 week scan is Tuesday

AIDE2424 · 16/12/2018 20:57

Had another scan today a private one which was lovely. Sonographer described baby pip as lively as they are currently doing a hand stand, which has moved since Friday!

Got a lovely video of the scan and you can see the heart beating! First midwife appointment on Tuesday!
I have 2 cysts on my right ovary both about 14mm in width and another one which the sonographer thinks it what caused my pain when I was in the EPU as it’s “ very chunky” her words not mine, but they shouldn’t affect baby thank godness! ready for these next 2 days at work then I’m off for a few days for my birthday on Friday!

Hope everyone and there little beans are well tonight ❤️

AnnaBegins · 16/12/2018 21:08

Woohoo I finally have a date for my booking in appointment, 27th December! Still think I won't get a scan until 14 weeks but it's a start at least. But, it means I have to continue my careful eating over Christmas when normally I'd pig out, as I really don't want to be in the bracket for the GTT.

Have had a few Christmas nights out this weekend, managed to be driving for my work one and had DH primed to get me a "gin and tonic" without gin, and last night with friends I was designated driver and just had half a glass of wine. I'm pretty chilled about drink and food in pregnancy so it's not been too obvious. Friends were asking me how TTC was going though so a few white lies told.

Doughnuts most normal/supermarket brie is pasteurised anyway. It's only unpasteurised cheese you need to avoid so your sandwich was likely fine. Just avoid really posh brie!

AnnaBegins · 16/12/2018 21:09

Apologies for lack of paragraphs, my phone dislikes the app.

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 21:15

Silly first-timer q - is the 12 week scan too early to find out the sex?

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 21:21

AIDE2424 how very exciting! Really heart-warming to read.

Anna hope you get that scan sooooon! The waiting is such a pain.

Laburna · 16/12/2018 21:27

@stargazydrifter you can find out the sex at a private scan from 16 weeks, NHS won't until the 20week scan and then it's not guaranteed that they will tell you as some hospitals have a policy against it.

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 21:34

Oh I see. I just saw on another thread that someone having a scan this week is getting the sonographer to write the sex in a Christmas card to open on Christmas Day. 😍 Must be a much later scan then. I was going to say you could try that Laburna!

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 21:36

We've been looking into the various Downs etc tests online today, just to learn a bit more about them before the 12 week scan. It's staggering that different trusts seem to have slightly different thresholds for these too, in terms of what's low/increased risk. Seems like nothing is uniform.

Laburna · 17/12/2018 06:49

That would have been cool stargazydrifter

ememem84 · 17/12/2018 08:18

Taking the day off today. I’ve worked out why I’m so tired. Other than the pregnancy. I am on meds for pnd from ds. Dr has lowered the dose. And a side effect of lowering the dosage and withdrawal is sleep disturbances. I was awake every hour on the hour last night. But in between had some crazy dreams. 😪

So am taking the day to rest and relax and hopefully reenergise.

Have had a nice healthy breakfast (pop tarts an apple and some grapes) Dh has made me a cup of tea in my travel mug. I’m back in bed.

Buggles1 · 17/12/2018 09:20

I have my 12wk scan tmr morning but I started to bleed last night. Very light, dark brown colour and no other symptoms so I’m trying not to panic. I can’t help thinking through all the negative scenarios tmr morning though. I had started to buy some gifts for family at Xmas to announce the news (a pandora charm for my sister, baby booties for my dad, and some cards saying merry Xmas form our soon to be family of three) but I fear I may have jinxed things. God this first trimester really is a tough thing to endure both physically and mentally.
Good luck to all the rest of you having scans this week X
P.s my name is Claire... so I hope I can prove we shouldn’t all be tarnished with the ‘Claire’ brush!

RooKangaroo · 17/12/2018 09:34

@Buggles1, appreciate it won't completely put your mind at rest, but if it's light and brown it's unlikely to be an issue. Probably old blood that's been dislodged. Anyway, fingers crossed for the scan tomorrow 🤞 x

RooKangaroo · 17/12/2018 09:35

@ememem84, pop tarts! Can't remember when I last had one of those but really fancy one now.

Hope you get some sleep 😴

StargazyDrifter · 17/12/2018 10:17

Mmm Pop Tarts! That's all I can think of now...

Buggles1 good luck to you tomorrow, and to the two having scans today. Everything crossed, come on beans!

More crazy nightmares for me. Including some featuring the dog in the photo from Sky's lead story. On and off sleep until about 4 am. Today was meant to be non-fatigued and different. ☹️

StargazyDrifter · 17/12/2018 10:20

ememem hope you have a restful day. I have found the app Positive Pregnancy by Andrew Johnson really helpful in getting off to sleep. It's just got the one meditation and it does work for me.

Buggles1 · 17/12/2018 10:33

Midwife has advised I pop along to the EPAU so I have an appointment today at 11:30... feel sick with worry.

wombatron · 17/12/2018 10:49

Good luck @Buggles1 - you're going to be fine. Keeping everything crossed for you. I think as pp have mentioned, dark brown is old blood so I wouldn't worry too much. Sounds like your midwife is cautious which isn't a bad thing. Let us know how you get on!

StargazyDrifter · 17/12/2018 11:06

Buggles, good you're getting seen. This may or may not help you - when I was 9 weeks there was a bit of bleeding and I went to EPU for a scan in a big panic. Doctor said it was all fine and that, when the placenta attaches itself to the uterus to start functioning fully, it can sometimes unintentionally hit a blood vessel and cause a bleed. That's what my blood was. In your case, it may be that this blood didn't make its way out until now, which would also explain the brown. Good luck!

Chinks123 · 17/12/2018 11:13

I have my follow up scan today to see if baby has grown, after they put my dates back last time I’m a few weeks behind everyone else now. Fingers crossed for a heartbeat and healthy baby, symptoms are kicking in so I’m hopeful!

Kentishgal · 17/12/2018 11:17

Buggles1 I hope everything goes well. If it is any reassurance i have been getting both pink and brown discharge on and off since the start.

StargazyDrifter · 17/12/2018 11:44

Chinks123 yes, I remember, good luck!xx

Buggles1 · 17/12/2018 13:08

Sadly it wasn’t good news for us today. I’m crying so much I can hardly see what I’m typing. No heartbeat and we seem to have lost our little bean around 9 weeks. We’ll keep trying but now two mc down and close to 40 i’m Starting to lose hope.
All the best to the rest of you. I hope get to love and cuddle your little ones X
