Does anyone do the Organised Mum Method? I don't follow it exactly, as changing bits has made it work better for us, but it's made a huge difference for helping us (me) keep the house clean!

MakeAWhish · 16/12/2018 15:26

Omg after being so grateful that I don't suffer sickness in pregnancies (this is my third) it has hit me like a tonne of bricks! 8 weeks today (but 7+3 by my calculations) and since Friday the nausea has been awful 😫
Well done all on Xmas party drink avoidance. Not long now til we can all be out and proud!

TwinkleDay · 16/12/2018 15:31

@cravingmilkshake happy birthday for yesterday x

RooKangaroo · 16/12/2018 15:32

@Laburna, I don't strictly 'follow' it, but I've learned a lot from TOMM and I love the FB group for it. There's so much useful information on there and inspiration.

wombatron · 16/12/2018 15:55

Happy birthday @cravingmilkshake !!

I am 8 weeks tomorrow. I've had cramps and lower back ache all week. No bleeding so am assuming all is fine. One more week of work, one more works do, then freedom till Xmas day. I've got one more scan this time next week, and whilst I know we shouldn't wish our lives away, I'm hurrying time up in my mind!

reeny19 · 16/12/2018 16:39

What’s the organised mum method? Never heard of it before - someone sum it up briefly please Smile

Apologies, might be TMI coming up...
8 weeks today, felt a bit sick last night but managed to keep it together (fell asleep at 8:30 though). This morning woke up feeling a bit sick so went downstairs to stuff my face. The fridge smelt funny (think it was the cooked beetroot DH put in there) and it made me retch. Determined not to be sick i tried v hard to keep it down, suppressed a few retches but then puked on the kitchen floor in front of my dog (he looked quite surprised), before running to the toilet.

Afterwards I stuffed my face with a load of breakfast, had a cup of tea and felt fine again. Been ok the rest of the day. Keep telling myself I’ve got this, I can beat the sickness, it’s not gonna get me!

If this is as bad as I get I can totally manage, however part of me is worried that this is just the beginning.... just need to ignore that little voice in my head and keep ploughing on!

@wombatron I feel like I’m wishing away time too! Already can’t wait until July/August when it’s over and done with. Also so fed up of it being dark, I just want the summer again!

cravingmilkshake · 16/12/2018 16:53

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. We were hoping for my party to be over because I didn't feel I would enjoy it. But it was fine and no one noticed.

Apprehensive about the scan tomorrow. I am petrified of all the issues the poor girls on here have had. Xx

RooKangaroo · 16/12/2018 17:16

@reeny19, The Organised Mum Method is a way of cleaning (and tidying, etc.) that compartmentalises and structures the work into a routine.

The idea is that you start with boot camp where you take time to deep clean and properly declared and organise everything, room by room. Once that's done you then do 30 minutes of cleaning a day, every day. Depending on the size of your house, each room gets one day/one 30 minutes, for example. And this stays on top of everything.

I don't do it, but there is a lot of advice and lots of good tips wrapped up in the method. I'd recommend the FB group - TEAM TOMM (Get Ready To Rock The Housework).

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 17:43

cravingmilkshake everything crossed for you for tomorrow! Completely get how you feel, I get super worried every time too, even if there's no evidence, so to speak. Not long now. 😊

wombatron · 16/12/2018 17:45

@reeny19 not TMI - poor dog though Grin

I felt awful for 4 straight days and now feel better. I can be ravenous immediately but the feeling of wanting to puke has all but gone for the majority of the day, it's really just first thing. Still very much not wanting meat though. Bizarre!

TheScaredyKat · 16/12/2018 17:54

Happy Birthday @cravingmilkshake CakeThanks

I also have a scan tomorrow, fingers crossed for us both x x

TheScaredyKat · 16/12/2018 17:57

@reeny19 @wombatron My dog would love it if I vomited on the floor in front of him, in fact I'm pretty sure he'd try and eat it! EnvyConfused

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/12/2018 18:01

I'm probably just imagining it but..... Is it possible to feel movements at 8 weeks ? 🤔 3rd pregnancy so I know things usually happen bit quicker but i doubt this early.... But I swear I'm lying down and can feel strange movements 😬

wombatron · 16/12/2018 18:03

Haha so would mine @TheScaredyKat - one would be horrified, the other would just be like FOOD FOOD THE BITCH HAS DROPPED FOOD.

TwinkleDay · 16/12/2018 18:19

@ReginaPhalange89 yes I felt movement at 8 weeks too... mainly farting lol 🤪

Onestep2 · 16/12/2018 18:38

I feel like a pure unreasonable cow.

My cousin has just had her baby yesterday 3 and a half weeks early. They live a wee bit further away and will be bringing the baby on Xmas day and the whole family have been going on about how they can't wait to meet the baby ... obv i cant wait to meet baby either as me and my cousin are close BUT I can't help feel that this has knocked my nose out of joint as Xmas day was when we are planning to tell all family that were expecting our baby and now she's bringing a new shiney baby. 😂😂😂

Yes I know I'm completely unreasonable and it's totally irrational but I still just feel like she's stole my thunder lol

Don't know why I'm sharing this coz I know it makes me seem like a right bitch 😂😂

RooKangaroo · 16/12/2018 18:38

@wombatron: "Haha so would mine @TheScaredyKat - one would be horrified, the other would just be like FOOD FOOD THE BITCH HAS DROPPED FOOD."

😂😂😂

RooKangaroo · 16/12/2018 18:42

@Onestep2, that's not unreasonable at all. You've got some big news and it's understandable to feel like you've been pushed out of the way a bit by someone's else 'news'.

From a family point of view, I think they're going to be overjoyed at seeing both the baby and hearing your news - it's two very special things for them! For everyone else in the room, it's like Christmas has come twice. Your news will still be very special.

New babies are lovely for snuggles and cuddles, but there also isn't much to talk about when it comes to them. They eat, poop, and sleep. So relatives can have lots of newborn cuddles while also talking to you about your plans and your upcoming baby. Your relatives are going to love it!

reeny19 · 16/12/2018 18:45

The dog wasn’t insterested - before I ran to the toilet I was like “Baxter don’t eat that” and he just looked at it in disgust and walked off. Like he totally disapproved of me lol.

@onestep2 aw I wouldn’t worry too much. I see how you feel but why not just add extra good news on top of it! And steal her thunder a bit Grin the family will all be happy to hear regardless I’m sure.

Onestep2 · 16/12/2018 18:47

@rookangaroo auch I know your right and the rational side of my brain knows your right and i know the family will all be over the moon for us.

Just knocked my nose out of joint lol I will be fine about it I know I will and il look back and will be mortified that I even felt like this 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

reeny19 · 16/12/2018 18:50

@reginaphalange89 @twinkleday yeah the only movement I’m getting here is wind and the occasional cramp like my uterus is stretching.

I’ve put on a stone already. Please tell me that’s normal. I’m not planning to stop with eating everything!

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 18:53

TheScaredyKat everything crossed for you, too! 😊 I was just thinking the same about our old dog - he'd have eaten it immediately! He used to love it when babies came round so he could hoover up their milky spit ups from the floor. Animal.

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/12/2018 18:59

Haha it felt like bubbles popping, so wierd!

Aww @onestep2 I think it's pretty understandable to feel like that, I probably would too. Could you tell them a few days early?

TwinkleDay · 16/12/2018 19:01

@onestep2 no keep to your plan of telling people when you want to they will be thrilled for you and Claire won’t be there instantly a great day surely? X

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 19:03

Onestep2 not at all, it's perfectly natural to think your lovely news should be the centre of the universe. It's that tussle between head and heart. But it still is the centre of the universe and everyone will be delighted. No one ever needs to know what you thought, we all do it sometimes. (The lot on here won't tell a soul. 😉)

On movements, I'm on my first pregnancy and have never been as far along as this (10+4), so hardly qualified. However I do sometimes think I can feel my heartbeat pulsating in my belly, if that makes any sense. Have been putting that down to increase blood circulation.
