@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts the risk of the bacteria being in the brie is very very low, there is no need to worry especially if it's only 1 bite!

TheScaredyKat · 15/12/2018 22:24

I've also been thinking what to do about muff defluffing. Don't want to go au natural and surely it's difficult to book a waxing appointment at the exact right time. Might have to go with the series of mirrors option 😂

Definitely starting to show, I've been thinking it for a couple of weeks but the OH agrees now.

StargazyDrifter · 15/12/2018 22:30

Wasn't going to get DH anything baby related just yet. We'll have the 12 week scan just after Christmas, maybe then.

Whoever said about nipples getting pinker around the sides, I have that too. Just checked if I'm showing... can't work out if it's the baby or my dinner at this point in the evening! 😂

wombatron · 15/12/2018 22:34

@TheScaredyKat depends on how often you wax. Hair grows differently in pregnancy and it comes out easier. I'm a regular Hollywood/Brazilian waxer and if I wax 2 weeks before I'm due I know I'll be fine. It would take around 3-4 goes before that to get to that routine. My legs similar.

Went to see a show and have some dinner this evening. Been really nice to get out and do something normal following feeing sorry for myself!

Jxtina86 · 15/12/2018 22:35

I picked up a dad survival guide book today for DH too. Also yes to those wanting a summer baby because of all the winter birthdays - I'm 8th Dec, DH 10th, SIL today, my dad 21st... It's mental!

Kentishgal · 15/12/2018 22:43

Oh God I feel so unglamorous - I had to get my husband to shave my legs last time as I couldn't actually reach them - I wasn't about to ask him to deal with any other areas!! Fortunately I think the hospital shaved down there when I went into theatre 😂 I didn't get out of bed for a week so I hadn't showered for ten days in total - it was totally grim - I felt disgusting - I usually can't leave the house until I've showered and washed my hair. My poor husband - hardly an attractive sight.

@wombatron maybe I'll have to pick up a waxing routine then. I don't currently I just shave but am a quick grower and seems to be quicker in pregnancy so far! I think I'm just a bit of a hairy Mary 😂

DianaBlythe · 15/12/2018 23:27

I’ve got DH the Commando Dad book for his stocking. Apparently Prince William said it was good.

I went to ask for it in Waterstones and they said they had it but couldn’t find it on the shelf. The chap on the desk said it’s the most commonly stolen book from the parenting section!!

toots123 · 16/12/2018 07:03

As predicted, I'm rubbish at keeping up on here.
I'm so sorry for the losses, I've been there and it's awful - take care.

Nice to see scan pics! Our next scan is tomorrow and I'm pretty nervous.

@Michelle0507 I'm right there with you on the anxiety front. It's so so hard to think it'll be a good outcome. Sending hugs

I like to think the hairy situation is taken care of and do try but realistically, when I get there I don't care anyway haha. 2 c sections so while it's important, it's not the main focus for everyone ha!

amanda2809 · 16/12/2018 07:12

Hi All, just checking in, I've been mainly over on Facebook!

All good here, have told a few more close friends and family. Scan is in the 28th I just can't wait to be able to tell my son!

Laburna · 16/12/2018 07:19

I survived the Christmas Party. It was insane!! There were 3000+ people there and free food and drink all night. Bit gutted I couldn't take advantage of that really!

ememem84 · 16/12/2018 07:47

Christmas party last night. I had a glass of champagne. Said to dh I’d have a drink if I fancied it but just one and would make it a good one. I’m very low risk again and dr has said that a glass of something occasionally will not hurt.

I had my wine glass topped up at dinner. Wasn’t quick enough to stop the waiter. Ah. Dh gulped it down and I refilled with sparkling water. No one seemed to notice.

Still no scan date. Waiting for this to come in the post...midwife appointment on Thursday.

wombatron · 16/12/2018 08:16

@ememem84 I'm the same in the sense that I have one half glass of red and make it last about 2 hours over a meal. Mainly at my work do where I'm known for excessive drinking - I managed to get away with no top ups! Once third trimester is out of the way and my 20 week scan is done I think I'll be a bit more relaxed. Thankfully Xmas day is at my house so I'll be out in the kitchen hiding with my 'gin' for most of the time when people arrive - then they'll all be a bit tipsy and won't notice by the time the drinks are flowing!

toots123 · 16/12/2018 08:22

@amanda2809 have i missed a Facebook page being set up?

ememem84 · 16/12/2018 08:23

wom I bought seedlip “gin” yesterday. Apparently if you don’t know it’s no alcohol you wouldn’t be able to tell. So that’s my Christmas drink sorted. Although it’s become more normal for either dh or I to have a drink as we have ds so can’t both get tipsy.

amanda2809 · 16/12/2018 08:31

Toots not really, it was started in early November, not directly linked to this thread but a few people from here are also there. I just find it easier to follow!

If anyone wants to join it's www.facebook.com/groups/294738377802514/

Only group members can see who's in it and it won't show as a suggested group to yours friends once you join etc x

TwinkleDay · 16/12/2018 08:39

Bloody hell I went to bed with 2 spots and woke up with 8!!!

Help I look like I have chicken pox... just on my face...

wombatron · 16/12/2018 08:54

Good tip Em! Thank you!!!

FuzzyPixel · 16/12/2018 11:08

It's lovely to hear about the Christmas events, I'm 9+1 today, and the sickness has really ramped up. I haven't been to any Christmas events this year, and next year will hopefully be maternity leave!

I have a huuuge headache today. I'm hoping it's a good sign that the pregnancy is progressing.

I don't imagine I'll look good in labour, either face or foof! Grin

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 11:42

Definitely nice to hear about all the parties. Hopefully you managed to do the food part of the do justice, Laburna?

I'm not in the FB group or the other July babies thread on here - too hard to keep up with multiple things!

Do love Seedlip, closest to alcohol I've found, the rest tend to be too sweet.

Spent a long time wimpering on the sofa with nausea yesterday. Sometimes it's hard to see the end to this, but feeling a bit more cheerful this morning (10+4). DH is threatening to take me out for a walk. My lower back and hip joints have been agony lately, I think because I've mostly been lying down in bed/on the sofa for the last 3-4 days. It's nowhere near bed-sores but the fleshy bits around my hips on both sides are feeling kind of tender. I had better go get dressed. The horror.

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 11:46

FuzzyPixel I've not been to any parties either. Currently thinking I might go to next year's one at work to keep in touch, but realistically I probably won't.

Have done a bit of googling on headaches as have also been getting them - overall inconclusive as to why exactly they occur in pregnancy, lots of 'general hormone causes' stuff, but a few sources also suggest it's to do with increasing blood volume. Kind of makes sense, and now I've seen it mentioned, it is sort of similar to the headache you can get after giving blood. Don't forget to keep drinking. Hope you feel better soon. 😊

cravingmilkshake · 16/12/2018 13:42

Hi guys.

Had my 30th birthday party last night(8wks 2 days) I told the bar man who made me soda and limes in big balloon gin glasses all night. When anyone asked to buy me a drink, I said a gin and tonic or a beer, and my slyly passed them to my husband.

When the shots came out I said I was feeling sick and again, gave to my husband.

The only time I thought I could be caught was when I said I was driving us home and my mum said I have drunk too much to drive 😳. I think I passed though! My husband is very hungover.

Early scan tomorrow evening!

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 14:10

Nice one! Sounds like you did very well. I have to say, halfway though reading, I did wonder about the possible state of your DH today! 😂

ReginaPhalange89 · 16/12/2018 14:50

@cravingmilkshake happy 30th! It's my 30th in March, at least I won't have to hide it, but I am a bit gutted I won't be able to drink at it. My best friends 30th is a few days before mine so it'd have been nice to have a big do for them both , guess I'll just go to hers sober haha.

I've just endured 2.5 hours of softplay hell while feeling a bit queasy. But when I got home I had a little burst of energy so I've done some cleaning and put a few washes on, thankfully ! My house is an absolute pig sty recently, just don't have the energy most of the time !

StargazyDrifter · 16/12/2018 15:03

I'm with you on the home stuff, Regina. The various piles of stuff at home have been making me miserable for a while. I've also had a bit of a burst of energy today and wrapped a load of presents. Wiped me out. To think I'd usually do that at the end of a long day. It's really quite remarkable how much energy pregnancy takes! Determined to have a more productive week week as of tomorrow.
