@Lulabell1. I am in the exact same "need to take a huge crap as it's been around two weeks" boat. I have had sickness return too which sucks. I nicely cleaned my teeth last night and then straight away Envy. Eggs are not fun to bring up by the way!!

Yakadee · 23/12/2018 13:10

Oh man - really feel for those of you still feeling so unwell, that's grim!!

I've finally started washing all the baby stuff. I kept tonnes of stuff from my son so was actually lovely looking through everything, can't believe I'll have someone so small again soon! X

2019Mama · 23/12/2018 13:33

32 weeks today.. 🙊 started packing my hospital bag with baby’s outfits it’s all started to feel so real now..

I was at urgent care last week as I couldn’t keep anything down and the dr there said my iron was low so prescribed me some tablets however midwife checked this week and was saying it’s above normal 🤦🏻‍♀️

Constipation is the worst.. I’ve taken to having a mug of hot milk at bedtime and I feel like it’s helping that and lots of oranges

Yakadee · 23/12/2018 13:40

What size is everyone packing for their little ones? With my son, we bought some new born / first size etc but he was pretty big so be never actually wore them (think he went straight to 0-1mth?).

X

Celebelly · 23/12/2018 13:56

My hospital bag is packed! Mostly. Packed enough that it would do if I needed to go in, anyway! We are spending Christmas away from home so thought it would be a good idea to get one sorted and take it with us just in case. I'm just waiting on some little vests coming out the tumble drier so they can go in and that's it.

I've packed mainly first size stuff but will probably take a slightly bigger sleepsuit and vest to keep in the bag of 'just in case' stuff in the car.

Yakadee · 23/12/2018 14:32

Good idea @Celebelly. I'll be glad when mine is sorted, just in case! X

Since2016 · 23/12/2018 14:51

Haha I’ve still not gone into the loft... I am totally in denial. I’ve promised my friend I will do over Christmas as she has stuff she wants to give me so need to sort through. Gah washing!

I took newborn - and gave it away on the ward! DD went straight into 0-3. Will be doing the same this time. It was slightly big but tbh pointless buying stuff smaller when I’m fairly certain this one will be a similar size (DD was 9.11).

Hospital bag I’ll sort in jan. Probably faaaarrrr too relaxed about this!

Yakadee · 23/12/2018 14:55

@Since2016 - my son was 9lb2 so decent sized! So hard to know what this little girl will be? People keep telling me your second is bigger but girls are smaller x

emalady · 23/12/2018 15:04

@yakadee I have packed a couple of outfits (vest and sleepsuit) in newborn and 0-3 months. Haven't got any tiny baby stuff as no way I will need it but got quite a few newborn bits in a second hand bundle, who knows if I will ever use it! I packed most bits but was planning on repacking after Christmas as I'm sure we will have some other stuff we may want to take. Getting nervous of not having my notes /bag etc

lanalawr · 23/12/2018 15:11

I was planning to pack newborn size @Yakadee. They still looked a bit big on my 7lb12oz dd. Depends on the shop too though. I took in mothercare ones for her and they were fine. Supermarket ones didn't last because she was long and they were on the smaller size. I've found John Lewis to be quite roomy and they might have things in the sale to try their newborn or 0-1 sleepsuits if you wanted (they wash really well too).
@Since2016 I haven't got anything out either! Glad I'm not the only one. Dh assures me he knows where the next to me is from last time. I know where clothes are but haven't dug them out or washed them let alone packed anything. Still haven't bought maternity pads/breast pads either. The only reason I have some first size nappies is because a friend gave some to me after her baby grew out of them.

Yakadee · 23/12/2018 15:14

Thanks everyone. I'll go with a mix. I'm washing it all anyway. It won't go to waste, my friend is trying for her 3rd so can pass anything on we don't use / need. X

Notquiteagandt · 23/12/2018 15:20

Im so confused between newborn, 0-1m, first size and 1month. Are they all technically the same size?

Ive bought only newborn & first size. But then been given some tiny baby and 0-3m pieces.

So think i am covered for all eventualities.

Babies growth chart and my fundal height charts are all over the place. (Some measurements forcast 5lb others nearly 9 😂) With no idea when to exspect her. So i feel much happier knowing I wont need to dash shops. Something will fit her.

Notquiteagandt · 23/12/2018 15:24

I have packed up outfits in sandwich bags. Hat/vest/grosuit. I will pack a couple. Then if I need more sizes or more clothes if I stay in longer. Much easier for someone to just grab more premade packs and a bag nappies to bring into me.

Yakadee · 23/12/2018 15:31

@Notquiteagandt - that's such a handy idea! I'm going to pinch that! X

Since2016 · 23/12/2018 15:47

@yakadee currently measuring on the 90th centile. And my bump is massive. Growth scan on the 14th but given last time they were miles out... sure it’ll be fine. I have some new Jojo babygros (all I’ve bought) in 0-3 which come up small so will take those! It’ll be fine!

@lanalawr haha me too! My friend gave me the 🙄 when she was round on Friday and I said but it’s ages away! I think I just can’t quite connect baby + bump... tbh at the moment I have quite enough to deal with with toddler and Christmas. Plenty of time over the coming weeks.

Now this is all going to sound v silly, but does anyone know what to bring with into theatre in terms of baby stuff? DD was an EMCS and I didn’t hold / see her for about 8 hours afterwards. Its suddenly dawning on me how different this will be - do we bring towel etc with? I became a bit emotional the other day thinking about how I will actually (all being well) get to hold her immediately afterwards and really, just how very different this experience will be in comparison.

Since2016 · 23/12/2018 15:49

Oh and @lanawr I’m planning a boots / Superdrug shop at some point to stock up on pads etc, but again - so much time (she says)!

sickmumma · 23/12/2018 17:42

I have only had one person ask to touch my bump which is SIL (well nearly!!) and she wasn't around when the others were born so quite excited for a newborn in the family! Little lady didn't disappoint and did a little dance and she was thrilled - I didn't really mind she is so fab with our other children and it's nice for her to be interested and want to be involved in it all! I am not sure how I would feel for a stranger but if family asked I wouldn't mind, I guess a new baby is always exciting. It's like the little old ladies that coo over the baby in the shop or want to give you a coin for good luck I always entertain it, maybe I am too polite but i guess I think of my own grandma and how much it brightens her day when she speaks to young children and feel a bit sad sometimes as people can be rude and she's just doing it because she's lonely and being kind nothing sinister, plus sometimes these people brighten my day too as it can be quite lonely with a newborn.

I haven't packed a hospital bag - I should really as my cousin and a friend have just had their babies at 35 weeks and I am 31 now! I have got all the bits for baby but just need to get things for me like pads etc! I take newborn/first size which is upto 7.8lbs I think and they have fitted mine all fine but my little girl was my biggest and she was only 6lb 10oz! My eldest was 5lb 12oz and we had to go and buy tiny baby things! It doesn't matter if they are a bit big as you can always roll the sleeves up a bit!

Got our last big buy yesterday - got the Nuna leaf bouncer (second hand bargain! And I've just washed it all it's so lovely!) so feeling very prepared!!

Can't believe xmas is only two sleeps! The children are so excited!! Time seems to be going so quickly I hope it carries on until little lady makes her arrival as I am a bit over being pregnant now with reflux/ a cold and the return of morning sickness (I think brought on by the other two!!) hoping I can enjoy my roast and have stocked up on gaviscon and rennies 😂😂🙈

lanalawr · 23/12/2018 17:46

@Since2016 my boots shop is planned for January. I'm slowly making a list of things I need. Really should get sorted but it's just been chaos here.

@Notquiteagandt I believe newborn and first size are the same (not 100% sure on first size). 0-1 is bigger than newborn and 0-3 is bigger than 0-1. I found that it took average weight dd a month or six weeks to fit into 0-3. She was long and skinny though.

AliceRR · 23/12/2018 17:57

I have people at work touching bump which I don’t mind too much but I had an instance of someone I don’t know touching my bump in a shop. It was someone who worked there and I was asking her about a product. She seemed to recognise me, perhaps as I used to go in there a lot (or she could have just mistaken me for someone else), but I didnt recognise her. All of a sudden she asked when the baby was due and reached out and touched my bump. It was fairly early on (20w ish) but I really didn’t like it. She had long nails and I kind of felt her nails on my belly through my clothes. I sent an email to the store to complain actually which might sound a bit OTT but it’s quite a high end store and it made me really uncomfortable...

I plan to get my baby bag sorted after Christmas. Keep putting things off cause we’re moving but still don’t know whether we’ll have moved before baby arrives so decided I’m best packing a bag and then at least I’m ready. It might be harder to do it if we’ve just moved and things are in boxes...

Yakadee · 23/12/2018 17:57

@Since2016 - yeah, we'll figure something out - she's hardly without clothes!! Lol. I need to sort out all the practical post birth delights too - will get those in Jan.

I'm really excited for Christmas too. My son doesn't get it, but he does love the Christmas tree and presents etc x

babyp160 · 23/12/2018 18:25

Lulabell1 · 23/12/2018 18:29

im super prepared this time after dd coming at 36weeks. Iv got my hospital bag packed already mixture of diff sized outfits, blanket towel, pads clothes for me pjs, mini toiletries snacks and even fittedthe isofix andcarseat in the car! Control freak

Celebelly · 23/12/2018 18:30

I feel a bit bad we don't have a special going home outfit for her, but the I guess a) if it all goes fine and is straightforward, we will be out in six hours anyway and b) it just seems a lot easier to stick a onesie on than fiddling about with separates, etc. or proper clothes.

Lookingforadvice123 · 23/12/2018 18:35

Gosh some of you are so organised! I suppose I'm at the tail end of the group (31+4 today) but I won't be packing my hospital bag until I'm at least 35 weeks, DS was a week early too!

I did get big vacuum bags of DS' newborn and 0-3 clothes from my mum's loft this week. Washing and storing is on hold though until DS is in his new room, which I hope is late Jan at least so I'll be 36-37 weeks. I don't feel like that's too late but maybe I'm deluded.

A friend had a still born this week at 38 weeks which has really put into perspective how lucky we are, so I guess I'm living in the moment a bit. It's heartbreaking.

DragonFlew · 23/12/2018 18:49

@Lookingforadvice123 sorry to hear about your friend.
I'm 31 weeks tomorrow so our due dates are fairly similar, I'm not packing a bag until 35-36 weeks and hopefully I won't need it anyway as I'm having a homebirth!
