Sorry to hear DrEv. Look after yourself.

MakeAWish great news! What did you end up wearing? That was totally me before my last scan!

Also feeling grumpy and worn down by nausea and fatigue. Just 2 weeks and 2 days to go until 12 weeks. To those who've been there - does the fatigue/nausea get bet getter after 12 weeks? I keep finding mixed reports online and it would be really nice to start the new year feeling a bit less like death warmed up. 😭 Of course I'm delighted to still be pregnant, but it is wearing.

AnnaBegins · 09/12/2018 16:39

Feeling nauseous and sorry for myself today, headache and temperature too. On the plus side drinking one glass of wine last night at a party was enough to put off any suspicious family! But the toddler waking 4 times in the night was not pleasant, no wonder I feel like crap.

To whoever asked about symptoms and nausea, mine completely disappeared at 14 weeks with DS so fingers crossed.

MakeAWhish · 09/12/2018 16:40

@StargazyDrifter I wore leggings and a long top in the end! Had too much time to think about it all this morning and was really nervous.
Saw this pic on Facebook and had to share it 😂

Oh lol! I have just seen you saw it too 😂😂

MakeAWhish · 09/12/2018 17:05

Haha! Great minds @TwinkleDay 😂

Laburna · 09/12/2018 17:06

@stargazydrifter 14 weeks I'd be aiming for to feel better. I can't work out how far along you are, I'm 11 weeks today and I am definitely starting to feel better. Though I did spend a while yesterday throwing up....think I'd just not eaten for a long time and it all caught up with me.

I'm definitely less tired, haven't really had a nap today and don't feel too bad. Still having to eat every 90 minutes or so, but just a snack to relieve the hunger pangs rather than an actual meal!

StargazyDrifter · 09/12/2018 17:45

Thanks Anna and Laburna! I'm 9+4. 14 weeks will be 9 January - just as everyone hybernates due to diets and no alcohol! 😂

Glad you're feeling better Laburna, and I'm similar with needing to eat something every so often. I don't usually do that, solid 3 meals a day and never need snacks, but it seems to be the only way!

Very funny about the mugs, makes you wonder what FB's cookies are up to!

Laburna · 09/12/2018 18:04

Randomly not actually the same picture of the mug....

Laburna · 09/12/2018 18:07

@stargazydrifter I'm on 3 meals and about 6-8 snacks at the moment 🐷🐷🐷🐷

I got on the scales the other day and nearly had a heart attack, then remembered the booking in weight was less than my bathroom scales had shown, but still. I've put on A LOT of weight in the last few weeks! Going to have to be super sensible after Christmas!

StargazyDrifter · 09/12/2018 18:14

A lot of it can still be water-retention, can't it!? My scales have also seemed out of order lately! 😉

Laburna · 09/12/2018 18:27

I'm willing it to be water retention! I only put on 15 pound from booking in to just before I was induced last pregnancy, so I'm hoping for something similar this time! I've definitely grown a bit of a tyre around the middle from all the carbs I've been eating so far. I've got my GTT on the 12th January, so I assume I'll be forced to go low carb after that, but was definitely the best thing that happened last pregnancy. I was super jealous of all the other people in the summer living off ice cream and lollies and chocolate in the 3rd trimester, but so grateful I couldn't have any when I realised how little weight I'd ended up putting on!

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/12/2018 18:33

I've had a few stomach aches today and worrying now 🙈 like so sore I've had to stop what I'm doing

StargazyDrifter · 09/12/2018 18:46

Laburna that happened to my friend too, she barely put anything on because of it. Hopefully we might not be that hungry in the heat anyway. Althrogh I've been wondering about mat leave a month early and there will be nothing between me and that fridge come June!

Laburna · 09/12/2018 18:47

@ReginaPhalange89 where abouts is the pain? There are so many possibilities that it could be....my bowels have been causing a lot of pain, which feels a lot like cramping; stretching is still happening and can be horrifically painful; the other thing is that cyst thing that sustains the baby initially can be really painful when it pops or just in general (it's the main reason lots of people think they have an ectopic pregnancy).....none of those are bad news things!

Laburna · 09/12/2018 19:06

See how you feel when you get further along stargazydrifter you might want to leave early, but then would that mean going back sooner? It's a hard choice, and one I'm so glad I didn't have to make, but I know a lot of people who found going back really hard and wanted to have as long as possible.

I'm not sure what you do, teaching little people did get hard towards the end, I had great support staff who did a lot and I only worked mornings towards the end, but it was exhausting. I would sleep all afternoon when I got home. There was a point to this....oh yes, there are probably other options for you than taking leave early, cutting back hours or using annual leave to shorten your week. It's worth talking through options with your work place!

AnnaBegins · 09/12/2018 19:14

I've lost 5 kg since my BFP, hoping to drop one more before my booking in appt then I'll be out of the GTT test range! Just cut out snacks and going swimming more regularly. I lost weight in my last pregnancy too so fingers crossed I can keep it off this time...

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/12/2018 19:56

I'm not even sure how to describe it @laburna, all over really! Felt like I had a dodgy stomach, that kind of pain ! Feeling quite nauseous tonight which I've not had much of yet , there's a bug going around I'm just hoping it's not thsr starting up

TwinkleDay · 09/12/2018 20:00

Back to the stretch mark question... yes I have been thinking about my mum in a bikini over the years and year she has a few, and so do I from weight gain and loss so I recon I will be getting them, when to start with the moisturisers and any one in particular?

Laburna · 09/12/2018 20:00

I have definitely had the dodgy tummy pain, progesterone can cause havoc on your digestive system, and obviously the hormones that make your muscles relax essentially stop your digestive system working properly.

I hate to say it, but this could well be the start of your hcg peak, and symptoms will just continue to get worse for a while! Sucky times!

Fingers crossed it's not a dodgy tummy bug!

Onestep2 · 09/12/2018 20:24

@annabegins that's fab on weight loss!! I faced the music and weighed myself yesterday and I had lost 3lbs from the weight I was when I came back honeymoon, and only 4lbs heavier than when got married so I was pleased.

I've got a lot more energy this week so going to "attempt" to go back to gym tomorrow.

I've heard bio oil is really good for stretch marks or coco butter? When would you start using them?

StargazyDrifter · 09/12/2018 20:40

Laburna those are all really helpful thoughts on mat leave. Thank you 😊. I do a desk job, but it involves a lot of meetings which I've really struggled with lately. I shiuld be able to take annual leave for a month and mat leave around 39 weeks and still be off for a year. I'm worried if I don't go back after 12 months I might never go back! 🙈 Will definitely speak to HR and get it all checked out properly in Jan once I've had my 12 week scan. Teaching must have been really tough!

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/12/2018 21:47

I'm covered in stretch marks already from previous 2, and also the fact my weight has gone up and down so much over the years !

I'm also worried about what weight I'll be at my booking in appt ! I didn't have to have the gtt last pregnancy and I think I'm maybe 7lbs heavier now than I was at that booking in 🙈 my appts on Thursday this week, I planned to try and lose a few before but my appetite has been shocking, haven't stopped eating! 🙈

AnnaBegins · 09/12/2018 22:06

@OneStep2 that's fantastic, think all I did on our honeymoon was eat, I don't normally have any discipline!

Regina I think it's BMI of 30 that's the threshold so I've been aiming for under that.

Laburna · 09/12/2018 22:07

My DH is such a twat sometimes. He's got some kind of squash that's orange and mango or orange and pineapple. I can smell it from another room, and it instantly makes me want to hurl. For the third time today I've had to ask him to move his drink and him brush his teeth so I can't smell it. Does he once think to not drink it? No of course not!

Honestly can't believe I'm going to have to actually spell out to him he needs to stop using it before I throw up on him.
