Anyone else showing yet? I'm 11+5 and colleagues are starting to notice 🙈

I have my first scan on Wednesday and hoping the size of my bump means twins (although highly unlikely) and not just one monster sized baby lol !

Bigonesmallone3 · 14/12/2018 08:54

13 weeks tomorrow and feel huge, no one has noticed yet but Iv been wearing baggy tops.. and today I have a fugly Xmas jumper hiding it :)

I'm 16 weeks today and didn't think I had much of a bump but a lady offered me her seat on the bus home from my Christmas meal yesterday 😂 admittedly I'd just had a 3 course meal but she must have been pretty confident to come over and offer!!

Bigonesmallone3 · 14/12/2018 09:01

😂 @Torsz
Tbf I wake up feeling a few months pregnant and feel 8 months pregnant by the time it's bedtime..

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 14/12/2018 09:03

@istef

You will totally be able to get an Out and About Nipper Double; absolutely fabulous Buggy, used it in Greece over some pretty rough terrain and the children loved it. Also it lies very flat too which is good for tiny babies but I think you can buy newborn inserts which may be worth the spend x

Torsz · 14/12/2018 09:09

@Bigonesmallone3 haha me too - your username is spot on right now! You'd never know I was pregnant in the morning but I look ready to pop by bedtime 🤣

LauralovesLuke · 14/12/2018 09:25

These comments re: bumps are cracking me up 😂😂

Kescilly · 14/12/2018 09:40

A friend said yesterday that I was showing and it made me really self-conscious. I think mostly because I already carried my weight around my middle and now it’s all getting pushed out. So I look further along than I am! 😕

pacempercutiens · 14/12/2018 10:08

Hello!
Had my "12 week" scan yesterday, due end of June, but will be having ELCS in early June as it's identical twins! I've known for a few weeks but it's still quite a shock!!
Bit nervous, even though this will be my 2nd and 3rd DC, as I've not really been told much about what happens different with the twins apart from the c-section.
Good luck to everyone xx

Congrats on your twins! How exciting!

WeeBean · 14/12/2018 10:56

Congratulations on the twins!

We had our scan yesterday too, all looking good and measuring bang on, I'm 13 weeks today so they confirmed my due date of 21st June. There was so so much information to take in! Our wee one was wriggling about loads, was so exciting to see ☺️

Only downside was I was sick 6 times yesterday and only managed to keep down a pot of jelly and some lucozade all day! Took 3 midwives to get my bloods as a result. Roll on the end of being sick and more importantly June!

@pacem - I am also having twins (DCDA though so no idea if identical or not) and havent been told anything at all about switching to consultant led care (midwife put me intially under midwife-led before we knew). I hope there will be at least a discussion about birth options as I want to avoid c-section if possible but realise the twins positioning and other things will decide. These are my first DC so I'm clueless. Have just text my midwife with questions. Congrats on the twins!

oh and @Laura I'm showing too at 13+5 but am carrying twins so to be expected - it might all be my uterus pushing my stomach up and out but man it gets tight and big in the evenings.

I'm on low dose phenergan and my symptoms have all but gone (yay for little to no nausea!) and have loads more energy - going back to work next week - but that just makes me worry that theyve stopped growing! feels like a bloody long time til next scan in January. Confused

MauisLeftNipple · 14/12/2018 12:07

I am 12 weeks today and have had an obvious bump for the last couple of weeks (but I tend to wear loose tops so not that noticeable to others). It's the earliest I've shown in any of my pregnancies. I think I need to accept that my abs have finally given up 😭

Torsz · 14/12/2018 12:26

Argh so excited that we have two sets of twins in the group now!! I must admit I'm a little jealous (although I'd also be freaking out!) - they'll have such an incredible bond ☺️☺️☺️

annihall · 14/12/2018 12:39

I'm 14+4 today with my first and already starting to show. Went to the panto with my husband last night, wearing quite a tight dress and said to him "look now I'm really starting to have a bump". His reply was "I don't think you look pregnant, you just look like you've destroyed a huge Chinese takeaway..." - well thanks for that darling 😂

toomanyflatwhites · 14/12/2018 12:41

Double twin excitement!

Talking of bumps, I'm 14 weeks today and I've just been to my first pregnancy yoga class (I've taken today off work). It's funny because at work I'm so worried that people can tell (haven't told them yet as still finalising paperwork for a pay review...), but in the class I felt like an imposter as everyone else was super pregnant!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 14/12/2018 13:01

I’m in the opposite camp and it’s worrying me. Now after 2 C Sections I’m not the owner of any washboard abs but I’ve got a “normal” tummy and it’s not got bigger.

I bloated a few weeks ago but that’s gone and at 15w I don’t look pg and symptoms have gone.

I am glad I have a hospital appointment next Thursday as I’m going to push for a Doppler. Having had a mc before needless to say I’m ultra cautious permanently what fun.

Ps: double twins!

MauisLeftNipple · 14/12/2018 13:17

Paul at 15 weeks in my 3rd pg I didn't look pregnant and my horrendous nausea had gone. I dont even think my boobs had got bigger (mine have finally in the last 2 weeks). Try not to worry!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 14/12/2018 15:46

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut I'm
Also 15 weeks with my third and not showing that much. I could easily just have eaten too much and I can hide it with baggy tops. Still wearing some non-maternity jeans too, albeit in one size larger than normal.

I'm tall which I think makes a difference too. X

Napssavelives · 14/12/2018 16:04

Eugh now I feel huge! 14 weeks with #3 and definitely showing. Very much in maternity clothes

KoalasAteMyHomework · 14/12/2018 16:46

Ah lovely seeing everyone's scan pictures! And 2 ladies having twins - fab!

pacempercutiens · 14/12/2018 16:51

@lstef I'm sure there will be a discussion about birth options, I just know already as I had an EMCS last time, and due to that the midwife said she thinks they won't want me to try for a VBAC, and to be honest after the fiasco I had last time (4 days of induction, 5 contractions every 10 minutes and no progression) I'm very happy to go for an ELCS.
As I found out before my midwife appointment I already have my first consultant appointment in mid January.
I think I'm going to call my midwife this week to try and find out what happens with appointments/scans with twins. I'm MCDA so they share a placenta so I'm worried about TTTS at the moment!
Congrats on your twins too!!

Cassia90 · 14/12/2018 17:04

Hi all has anyone experienced any joint pain? My hips ached initially then now my knees and elbows! Rung the midwife advice line as it's been so bad I couldn't go to work and they advised most likely just increased hormones loosening ligaments. Anyone else had the same? My 12 week scan isn't until Monday so still feeling very on edge but did see baby at 9+ weeks so fingers crossed x

KoalasAteMyHomework · 14/12/2018 17:14

I've had a bit in my hips and very low in my back Cassia, though sounds like a lot worse for you! Glad you called the midwife, I guess its just a case of taking it easy for now then? Fingers crossed all is fine at the scan!

JBCG · 14/12/2018 18:33

I had my scan today - all looked good with the baby but it was a bit of a horrible experience. The sonographer was awful and really worried both me and DP! Basically the baby wasn't cooperating and wouldn't move so that it could be measured .. which was fine, we just have to go back next week. But the sonographer lacked any sort of sense of how he was coming off and it was awful! Kept saying things like 'oh well that's not good!' And 'that doesn't look good at all' every time DP and I asked if all was okay and what was wrong he would just say 'oh nothing, it's just not in the right position' .. so I felt really anxious and worried the whole way through due to his stupid 'oh dear' comments! Wished he just hadn't said anything to be honest! I know I should just be grateful that everything looked okay but because of the way the sonographer was speaking I left feeling rather shaken! Hopefully we get a different person next week! Don't think I can go through that again!
