Hope everyone weekend is going well. Went to France for the day and I felt so ill on the boat nausea kicked in. Back at home feeling to exhausted to do anything. I am hanging my feet up tonight

stellarfox · 09/12/2018 09:12

Hope you feel better soon @Matmum12. Lots of people get sea sick as it is but can’t be nice with morning sickness on top!

Does anyone else feel like they are having to wash their hair more regularly? I used to try to do it every 3/4 days with help from a bit of dry shampoo, but it feels like it needs washing after a day at the moment!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 09/12/2018 09:48

@stellarfox I've found with all my pregnancies that my skin and hair get really sensitive. I usually was my hair daily but when pregnant it feels greasy really fast!

I've found switching to the 'clear' shampoos and accompanying conditioners really helps to keep it light! Anything else I have to avoid until baby is born. Makes a real difference though.

R4ch4el · 09/12/2018 11:15

@stellarfox my hair seems to be the opposite actually, it’s normally really oily and I have to wash it every couple of days, pregnancy seems to have dried it out so I can go a bit longer. Finally a good pregnancy symptom!!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 09/12/2018 11:53

Yes @stellarfox

Rather than lustrous mythical pregnancy locks my barnet is a limp squib and I’ve had to buy Batiste for the first time in eons.

Cosmic day today; DD (2.9) ran away from me again as I was locking the bike and a homeless man rugby tackled her to the floor to stop her going onto a fucking dual carriageway. She literally wrenched free from me in half a sec. No reins, just this one time.

I am sick sick sick to death of it, I seem to have got it wrong with her so badly somehow and she just doesn’t walk nicely with me at all, tantrums and sits down and refuses to move and now DS is on the threshold of walking (14 months) the cycle is away to start again and I’m mentally wrecked.

It has absolutely ruined me today; I’m a crying mess and I feel like a big stupid mess and just need some time out. My friends are all so busy and my childfree friends are dropping me all over and I’m just fed up and sad.

Sorry to dump all over this thread, I feel like I have nobody IRL right now and folk assume that pregnancy is a 9 month bubble of awe and beatific wonder but it’s an emotional Krypton Factor and I want to cry all the time atm.

Waah waah waah.

Marking my Spot. Due 1st June with 3rd Baby. Having a baby Girl!!

Xx

MauisLeftNipple · 09/12/2018 16:53

That sounds really tough Paul. It's nothing you've done wrong: 2 year olds can just be shits at the best of times. I'm glad the dude was able to help you. FWIW I'm anticipating similar difficulties with my youngest. He throws a great tantrum, whereas my others didn't (as toddlers...my eldest can chuck a good tanty now!). I know he's going to be a runner so he's never really allowed out of the buggy! I hope you've managed to relax a bit over the course of the day.

My hair normally dries out somewhat during pregnancy, and I can go 3 days without washing it. At the moment it is hideously greasy if not washed daily, and when washed it's just fluffy. Cannot win. Also, leg hair growth normally slows down but I am a hairy monster atm. I only shaved one leg last night because the hair was overwhelming (will do the other tonight). My nail however are super strong and lovely.

toasterstrudle · 09/12/2018 18:51

Oh Paul what a worry for you. Thank god it was all ok.

I'm back at work tomorrow after 3 weeks off sick. I'm still sick in the mornings but much more manageable now. I'm a teacher too, so only 2 weeks then I'm off again. I've got the worst Sunday night dread in the world!!!!!

Pigriver · 09/12/2018 21:11

Solidarity on the toddler tantrums Paul, mine is 3.3 and seems to have just hit the terrible twos. He was the most placid 2 year old, held my hand, listened, didn’t really demand anything (we felt we were owed this as he didn’t sleep or allow us to put him down for the first year!). I’m afraid we got used to the easy life. Well the last week we have had multiple tantrums a day, really rude, shouting at me, refusing to leave the house 😫 no difference to how we parent just an over night change. It’s flipping exhausting and now of course I’m thinking ‘and now we are adding another child to the mix!’ Am I mental?!

fee1234 · 09/12/2018 22:00

15 weeks tomorrow 😮

The skin around my belly piercing is getting quite tight and it's a bit red and sore.. think I'm going to have to take it out soon. Was a bit naive to think I could keep it in while my belly is getting bigger.

BethlBuck · 09/12/2018 22:46

Hey! First message here so don't really know what I'm doing, but due our first baby in late June, we've got our dating scan Wednesday morning so will get an exact due date then! So excited to see the baby and know for sure everything is OK after the past 9 weeks of constant panic since we found out!

Fabuluce · 10/12/2018 07:18

Paul I have a 3yo who is most definitely a (very fast) runner and it can be freaking scary. We had to stop going to one toddler group which had too many exits as it was a crazy busy group and I was unable to keep within close enough contact with him at all times. The final straw was when he managed to get out of the room, run up the stairs into the foyer and straight out on to the high street. I caught up with him as he was hurtling onto the road. So scary. I've had to keep him in his buggy for far longer than I expected and more than more placid others. Also he's a bit boom or bust so he'll run like a nutter then flop and have to use the buggy anyway. We now have the choice of he can sit in the buggy with no buckles if he does good behaviour but if he does bad behaviour (ie running) he has to go in with buckles so he can't escape. Do you have a double buggy option?

Reastie · 10/12/2018 07:24

Toaster good luck back at work, hope the last couple of weeks are easy.

Paul you are NOT a bad parent! Children that age just don’t understand risk or danger and see everything as fun. She just can’t comprehend how risky that situation was (and probably thought it was hilarious). It’s tough when you have a Houdini, but it’s nothing you’re doing wrong. Doing it wrong would mean you weren’t bothered by it and clearly you are. I’m not looking forward to going back to that bit of parenting!

Welcome Beth :)

Reastie · 10/12/2018 07:36

Also, does anyone have recommendatoins for maternity leggings? I don’t want to have regular ones as if I buy size bigger they bag in the legs and I don’t like anything pressing on my tummy. I got a pair that bag in the legs and look like pjs so have been looking online and just so confused at what to buy so have given up! I don’t mind having to pull up the waist constantly until my bump gets bigger (or tuck into my bra!) I just want something that doesn’t press my tummy too much and look like leggings (and preferably aren’t see through)

Matmum12 · 10/12/2018 07:43

Hi Reastie I bought some leggings at H&M in the maternity section. They had 3 for the price of 2. Not too sure if the deal is still on.

fee1234 · 10/12/2018 08:03

I'll second the H&M ones - they fit me really well and come right up over the bump. I'm a size 10 and got a small which fit well, but it's probably best to try some on before buying.

Reastie · 10/12/2018 08:13

Thanks, I need to order online as I’m not up to shopping so I’ll save H&M for a couple of months time when hopefully I’m up to it. I’m always dubious of ordering online from H&M as I find their sizes vary so much. Found some from JoJo Maman Bébé which has good reviews and am giving them a go

coastergirl · 10/12/2018 08:31

Another one here with a crazy toddler. Mine is a runner and it's such a worry. Supermarkets are an absolute nightmare as he won't go in the trolley and legs it everywhere at top speed. Scary.

I'm feeling sorry for myself. Been stuck in bed all weekend with a really nasty cold and now I'm having to take today off work, so I won't get paid.

Bigonesmallone3 · 10/12/2018 08:35

I woke up yesterday with belly pains, they got better through out the day, didn't completely go tho.. this morning a lot worse 😭 I'm a bit worried but I'm hoping it's because I done a lot on Saturday, getting the decs up and moving some furniture..
reassurance please..

GreenDill · 10/12/2018 08:41

Solidarity for those with toddlers. DD is 5 now but was an absolute nightmare solidly from 2 to 3 and a half.

12 week scan this morning at 9:40 and I’m so incredibly anxious. I’ve been fine up until now but I’ve got a bad feeling about it for some reason Sad .

How is everyone feeling today?

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 10/12/2018 08:46

Thanks for the solidarity folks and I swear today will be better. It shot my whole day to bits. @fabuluce if you were in SW London I’d wonder if we were talking about the same playgroup as DD would pull stunts like that at hers.

Re double buggy, we have the frankly marvellous Joie Aire Twin. It’s just yesterday I was on the bike with DD and that plus getting in and out the car are “escape flashpoints”.

Actually considering reading up on puppy training books Confused

Welcome new joiners!

Sosie91 · 10/12/2018 09:29

Hi everyone I’m due on the 5th June with our third baby. We have two little girls who are 3 and 6. I’m struggling big time this time..

I’m so tired and sick still it’s making my part time teaching job a nightmare. I’m in bed by 7 most nights.

Has anyone else got a bump? I feel liked whale already.

Ksjourney · 10/12/2018 09:52

Hey @fee1234 you can buy a pregnancy bar. Few of my friends had success. Mine got infected with DD and I had to remove it 😢.

Napssavelives · 10/12/2018 10:27

I’m also exhausted @sosie91 . Have 2 kids 4 and 5 and work part time as a nurse. Feel absolutely dead and huge
