@Istef how wonderful! Congrats on your beautiful babies!!

fee1234 · 07/12/2018 12:16

@toasterstrudle I'm in Scotland too (NHS Ayrshire and arran) and I just got a letter saying low risk, there wasn't a '1 in ...' breakdown or anything.

Mummytomollyandbean · 07/12/2018 13:19

I can add you on Facebook, if you send me a private message with your email address I can add you.

Reastie · 07/12/2018 13:23

I’m in the Fb group but I won’t offer to join anyone as last time I did that for madeincornwall I accidentally added a friend instead (who luckily was some who knew I was pg) and then it wouldn’t let me unmember her!

Weebean I sympathise, it’s just rubbish. I’m having yet another sofa day feeling rubbish. I’m so over feeling sick now, it started before I was even 4 weeks for me.

Istef great picture, I’m ashamed to say I knew nothing about the differences in pg of identical and non identical somthis is a useful lesson!

I’ve just subscribed to Netflix for the first time ever to try to distract me from the nausea. Anyone got any recommendations on what to watch? Currently on ‘the crown’

MauisLeftNipple · 07/12/2018 13:29

Congrats Istef on your double bundle. I hope you have a smooth ride with them.

I have had two social mornings in a row and am now close to dead. 11 weeks today. Bring on the 2nd trimester glow/energy!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 07/12/2018 13:53

@lstef Oh my goodness - twins! That photo made my heart melt! Did you say you were going to find out the sex? How amazing to get two in one go. I have to admit I was happy to only have one this pg as I already have two children but twins the first or second time would have been amazing! (I'm still getting my head round having three in total haha).

Also looking to fit two high back boosters and an isofix - total mare! A friend though has an estate with one isofix, one HBB and the eldest on a booster cushion in the middle with a reinforced belt (from Mothercare I believe) and said that's totally ok of you can't fit three seats?!

I'm going to have to do more research!

Congratulations to everyone on their lovely scan photos - wonderful to see all those beautiful babies!

Napssavelives · 07/12/2018 13:53

We are getting touran. I believe it does fit 3 car seats across the middle row. It had 5 isofix points too in the newer models .

Morgan999 · 07/12/2018 14:05

Hi can I join please?!
Been watching for a while but after 2 miscarriages this year was nervous about joining but I'm 14 + 5 and due 2nd June. Had my scan 2 weeks ago which was all fine (sigh of relief) 💙💗I have a DS who is 8, so a big age gap and can't remember a lot from last time 😂
I would like to join the Fb group too! 😀

toasterstrudle · 07/12/2018 14:40

Hi @Mummytomollyandbean I'll PM you - I'd like to join FB please :)

Welcome and congrats @Morgan999 ! I think you need to send mummytomollyandbean a PM to join FB :)

MauisLeftNipple · 07/12/2018 14:45

Although you can fit 3 seats across a lot of cars, it can still be tricky. We have an Alhambra (3 full seats) and were ok when #3 was in the cabriofix (I didn't bother using the base). When we moved him to a ff seat we couldn't get them all to fit! We had to change one of our hbb to a much narrower one then all was ok.

Curlywurly3 · 07/12/2018 14:58

@reastie the Crown is so good and also Ozark.. Jason Bateman, that's a good one too.

@istef Haha your response sounded really professional, you'll be as knowledgeable as a consultant by the end of your pregancy :)

I'd like to he added to FB too, I'll message you @mummytomollyandbean x

Reastie · 07/12/2018 15:15

Hello Morgan, another one with a bigger age gap, yay. Dd is 7 but will be 8 by June, I’m hoping it’ll be a good half as she’s old enough to genuinely be quite helpful and we’ll have the summer holidays soon after so no early school run every day for a month or so.

ThAnks for the recommendation curly, think I’ve seen Ozark as a recommended option. I’m struggling to find anything as anything gory I can cope with as it makes the nausea worse, anything too in depth my brain can’t take and anything vaguely emotional has me blubbering!

stellarfox · 07/12/2018 15:18

Is the Facebook group still private? I haven’t announced on Facebook so I don’t want people to see if I join!

@Reastie The Good Place is a really fun lighthearted show but quite a lot of twists. Also recommend the haunting of hill house if you like scary shows.

I got the promotion at work! I really thought I hadn’t as they suggested I would find out yesterday. So now I just need to decide when to tell them I’m expecting eek!

toomanyflatwhites · 07/12/2018 15:29

@stellarfox that's fantastic!!!

@Reastie when I was pregnant with DD I binge watched Jane the virgin on Netflix - light hearted, funny and about a baby ;) there are now 4 seasons (though I think I just watched the first 2) so can't vouch for later ones but the first is fun.
Also baby themed The Letdown though might stress you out about newborn sleep deprivation (!), Grace and Frankie is also nice too!

fee1234 · 07/12/2018 15:31

@Morgan999 welcome 😊

@stellarfox congrats on the promotion that's amazing news!!

GUYS I did something... I ordered the angelcare fetal Doppler (I know they are always advised against..) and I heard the heart beat 💕 I found my own first which was much slower, and then found the baby's which was around 156bpm!!

Will only use it until I feel movements start in a few weeks.

Morgan999 · 07/12/2018 15:54

My DS is 9 in April, he is very excited to be a big brother 🙂 I'm also hoping for lots of help @Reastie.

Do we private message through Mumsnet @toasterstrudle? If so how do I do that?

Thanks

fee1234 · 07/12/2018 15:54

**angelsounds, not angel care

R4ch4el · 07/12/2018 16:15

@stellarfox congratulations on the promotion! Maybe wait until you have the paperwork if you are nervous about them being dodgy. But I don’t think you should feel guilty at all about taking a promotion. Women have babies, employers just need to deal with that.

@fee1234 I’m so tempted to buy a Doppler. Where did you get it from? Why do they say not to get them, in case we can’t find a heartbeat and freak ourselves out? I’m already freaked out 99% of the time anyway 😂

Curlywurly3 · 07/12/2018 16:17

@stellarfox I'm 12 weeks today and I haven't told my family yet! I think the Facebook group is private.

Congrats on the promotion! 🎉 tell them in Jan, say you found our over Christmas 🙈

fee1234 · 07/12/2018 16:21

@R4ch4el yeah so many articles online saying don't get them because they just cause stress and worry if you can't find the heart beat. I found it after about a minute, I just angled it down into my pelvis and there it was. You can even hear it moving around! Got it from Ebay, it was about £20 and comes with the headphones, gel and battery. I've been using it all afternoon haha

WeeBean · 07/12/2018 16:33

I feel your pain @Reastie, I'm getting proper cabin fever from all my sofa days! Hopefully it'll turn round for us both soon, I think if I knew when it would end it would help me deal with it. I don't know how you're able to manage it with another child, hat off to you!!

Not Netflix but when I was off ill at the start of the year I binge watches Dawson's Creek on 4OD and it was great, proper nostalgic as I loved it first time round. Day time TV is so rubbish, I can't wait to get back to work!

Reastie · 07/12/2018 16:40

Wee I’ve already done Dawson’s creek! I emptied 4od/iPlayer etc so needed some new things to waste time away. Thanks for th enerflix recommendatoins, have added to. ‘My list’.

I’ve got an angel sounds Doppler in the loft from dd but dh can’t find the pg box it’s in (with all my matermity clothes etc) in the loft atm. He’s said he’ll have a hunt in the Christmas holidays. I remember it being nice to do last time and I never worried if I couldn’t find it, I just put it down to my inedptness. I got mine from amazon I think. You need the gel though, I tried it without and with other lotions and it wouldn’t work.

Stellar that’s fantastic news, I don’t think you have to tell work until @5 weeks before your due date but obv if want time off for apts and not use up holiday etc beforehand they’d need to know.

Morgan you can click on message poster next to the posters name at the top of their message.

Siannybobs · 07/12/2018 16:58

Hi everyone!
Congratulations all on your wonderful scans! Promotions! Twins! Cars! Such great achievements ... yesterday I made it to the kitchen sink in time to puke rather than the dining room carpet- yay me!

I've just realised I had bloods taken at my booking in midwife appointment 12th November, what was that for? Am I due some results from it? Confused first time I've got this far so total newb

Currently 11w7d with scan on Tuesday Grin will add to the roll call after that as I think due date might move later than 22nd June

MauisLeftNipple · 07/12/2018 17:19

Fetal dopplers aren't recommended because people a) sometimes mistake their heartbeat for baby's (or baby's for their's for that matter), but more importantly, they may use the doppler for reassurance if baby's movements have changed. They pick up a hb and think everything is ok, even if baby has stopped moving. Sue Radford, a very experienced mother of about 17 by that time, admitted doing this. I think she then couldn't find a hb the following day and that's when they discovered baby Alfie had died.

MauisLeftNipple · 07/12/2018 17:21

SiannyBobs they check your iron levels, antibodies, blood group and for a few blood borne diseases. If you habent heard anything then its likely they're all fine. They will give you the results at your 16 week appt.
