We tried the Harmony privately and there wasn’t enough fetal DNA for results. Which stressed me out more, and we had to rely on the NT measurement. I know some trusts are doing the Harmony if you are high risk after the NT scan but not all.

Since the Harmony stressed us out and we got a refund, we are doing a gender scan on Christmas Eve instead. Not sure if we will then wait for the 20 week to confirm though!

mindthechaos · 05/12/2018 19:24

Bigonesmallone3 I’ve not got my scan till next Friday when I’m 12+4 so you’re definitely not the last one.

I’ll add my date when I’m on the computer although I’m sure I’ll be moved back after my scan. My other two were small and pushed back and then came ‘early’ around the date I originally expected them. We’re finding out the sex, we’ve got two girls so I need to know whether we need to buy everything again or just vests and sleepsuits. Plus I’m super impatient

Blondcat · 05/12/2018 19:28

I have my scan tomorrow morning so will update after but by lmp due date is 19th June. Really nervous as this is the first scan I will ever have had and after mc in April at 6 weeks even more nervous. Feeling positive just anxious.

Dropped off a urine sample at docs this morning as was convinced I had a uti but nothing showed up so must just be stretching pains /bloating and normal pregnancy wee urgency.

Bigonesmallone3 · 05/12/2018 19:30

Guys I did not say I am the last..

I said I think I'm ONE of the last to have my scan..
😂😂

There's obvs quite a few more to go..

GreenDill · 05/12/2018 19:45

Glad to hear the scans have gone well! I had my 12 week scan booked for Friday, but had to rearrange due to a funeral so now it’ll be on Monday. Aghhh the wait! I’ve had 4 scans at the EPU so far so I’m fairly certain my dates won’t change as everything has measured exactly to dates so far so EDD June 19th. But been advised by my midwife they probably won’t let me go that far and as I’ve already mentioned wanting an ELCS this time round, she reckons they will probably book it for around the 37th week Shock which would put me forward to the end of May! DD’s birthday is on May 1st!

I’m definitely finding out the sex, already booked in (and lied about how many weeks I’ll be Blush ) for December 22nd my birthday. I don’t even have the patience to wait for a wash to finish, I’d pull my own hair out by the time baby was due!

fee1234 · 05/12/2018 21:06

I find out the sex two weeks today 😊

Started getting the worst heartburn at night time, it's awful, feels like burning at the bottom of my throat and in my chest.

toomanyflatwhites · 06/12/2018 00:42

Gahhhhh 12.30 and i'm laying awake...don't usually suffer from insomnia until later in the night, I think it's what we ate this evening as I made a sauce with raw garlic 🙄
Had such a busy day today and cycled more than I've ever done with DP...went to look at a house, then cycled to the hospital and back, then out to see a friend for coffee, then to the supermarket, then home briefly before heading out to do the nursery pick up. After all that I thought I'd sleep like a baby...instead I fell asleep putting DD to bed then DP came and got me at 10.30 and I've besmirch trying to sleep ever since.
We're going to find out the gender on Monday - gah! Can't quite believe we're going to know....I always thought I never would, but something just changed in my head and I thought it would be good to know, but will try to keep it completely to ourselves, not sure if that's going to work out though...

Napssavelives · 06/12/2018 05:56

I’ve accepted defeat that none of my clothes fit me and actually squeezing into non maternity clothes is bloody in comfy and makes me feel worse. What are people must haves? I slept well last night (sorry @toomanyflatwhites I hope you got off eventually!) and I’m ready to hit the shops this morning.

toomanyflatwhites · 06/12/2018 06:26

@Napssavelives glad you slept well! DD woke up at 1ish and I ended up falling asleep in her bed at 1.30, woke up there an hour later and came to bed. Nothing like enough sleep but better than nothing I suppose!
I'm pretty surprised I'm not the same about maternity clothes yet, as last time I remember being in maternity jeans from about 9/10 weeks! I've been unable to wear my skinniest trousers for a while, but otherwise am just wearing slightly less small stuff than usual. When the midwife weighed me at my booking in appointment on Monday by her scales she reckoned I was 5kg lighter than I was the day I got pregnant with DD (and have already gained 2ish kg) but then at the hospital yesterday their scales put me 3kg heavier than on Monday! Either way, I have got a growing tummy and boobs but am still lighter than I was pre pregnancy #1. Not sure for how much longer though, and trying to keep quiet at work possibly until Christmas because of some paperwork they are doing to get my job re-graded to the next level up. I want to paperwork in before I fess up!!

socktastic · 06/12/2018 07:04

@bigonesmallone when is your scan? Mine is next Friday, the 14th. Still seems like forever away. Also feel like I've been pregnant forever too!

SassehMonsta · 06/12/2018 08:08

We find out gender, hopefully, 10th Jan. It's over a month away but I have enough appointments between now and then that I think I'm good - midwife next Tuesday for 16 week appointment, consultant on friday for repeat bloods, I'm currently at the drs about to argue for more medication. Then it's all birthdays, solstice, Christmas, my birthday, then scan. Phew! Whirlwind at the moment.

Guys just catching up and big hugs to @sk17 and @R4ch4el what an absolute headmelt. X

I have the cold from Hell. Cough cough cough, dry as tinder, exhausting, constant and I can’t sleep with it plus I wake the children. It’s making my core ache and my CS scar hurt a bit which is alarming. Normally I’d guzzle actifed but absolutely everything is off limits. I felt really conflicted taking paracetamol for a splitting headache caused by hours of coughing and it barely made an impact. I know this is first world problems really but any golden top tips?

I think my colleagues know I’m not putting it on as I stink of Vicks 24/7.

Good news though is the nausea has abated! Yay!

Vertigo and loss of appetite - not so much.

Consultant appt on the 20th meaning I miss the works Christmas lunch - thanks baby!

stellarfox · 06/12/2018 10:45

I’ve just had a job interview this morning for a promotion! If I don’t get it I’m going to tell them right away I’m pregnant. If I do get it when would you tell them? I feel a little bit bad not telling them beforehand but I didn’t want it to be in the back of their minds

stellarfox · 06/12/2018 10:46

Also to consider, we’ve got our work xmas party next Friday and I should find out later today or tomorrow if I got it or not

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 06/12/2018 10:57

Ooooh @stellarfox all I can give you is my personal opinion but as you are not legally obliged to tell your work you’re pregnant until 15w before your due date I would hold off.

If you are a permanent member of staff that is.

For me, I’m experiencing a few negative effects of having to tell my (actually quite right-on and flexible) managers as I was sick as a dog from weeks 5-11.

toomanyflatwhites · 06/12/2018 11:08

@stellarfox fingers crossed for you! I think it's fine but totally understand you feeling uncomfortable about it. You might remember a million years ago in October I interviewed for an internal promotion (12 month secondment) and had got my BFP 2 days before. I got offered it and accepted but when my current department found out they promised they would "find a way" to get me the same salary if I stayed. I agreed to stay...but am still waiting for the extra salary. Had a meeting this week and now know what the process is, but (this is a university and everything happens by process...) I won't know until January if it's been approved - and I don't feel I can tell them I'm pregnant until the official paperwork has been submitted to the faculty. Am really starting to pop now (13 weeks tmrw) and worried how they will take it but hoping I can hold out and say nothing until Christmas - if it's not stupidly obvious!!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 06/12/2018 11:14

I don’t know about you @toomanyflatwhites but I am actually gonna have to shell out for less “bump obvious” Office attire as I tend to wear plain light coloured shift dresses.

I need to switch to patterned shirt dresses as I too am popping and really don’t want my “beer gut” to be stared at any more

Kescilly · 06/12/2018 11:14

@Blondcat lots of love and luck for you today! Hope the scan goes well. 💕

toomanyflatwhites · 06/12/2018 11:22

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut yep the concealment is the issue right now! Have got tons of dresses I could wear but it's all starting to look bloody obvious, especially when I put my lanyard round my neck and the badge falls right on top of the start of the bump 🙄 am living in 2 dresses that still currently hide it, and a few shirts with the same 1 pair of trousers that fit, but it's gone from "big lunch" looking last week to - err, yeah is there is something you need to tell us? So in another 3 weeks it's gonna be in yer face 🤪
Good luck today @Blondcat and anyone else having a scan!

LauralovesLuke · 06/12/2018 12:38

Hi all,
On the subject of maternity pay - am I right in thinking we only get 39 weeks pay? Does this mean if I want the full year off I have to sub it myself?

Blondcat · 06/12/2018 12:58

So scan went well very wriggly baby had to move my hips to get it to move for the measurements nt was low risk just need to wait for blood to be processed and with my age to get full risk hopefully in the next week. Moved forward by 5 days so 12+6 today and edd 14th June!

June 2019 Thread 4 - sliding towards 2nd trimester
toasterstrudle · 06/12/2018 12:59

@LauralovesLuke - Statutory Mat Pay is only 39 weeks, you're entitled to take a year but the last 3 months you won't get SMP. Your work may offer enhanced mat pay - mine only offers the first 3 months enhanced pay though so is a bit rubbish. You do accrue holiday whilst off so you can usually work it so that you get paid a bit at the end using that. You are also entitled to take up to 10 (I think) Keeping In Touch days for which you can be paid.

Do you have HR at work? It's worth sitting down with them so they can outline all the options specific to your work.

toasterstrudle · 06/12/2018 12:59

Brilliant @Blondcat! Congratulations!

toomanyflatwhites · 06/12/2018 13:11

Brilliant @Blondcat, and we are due date twins!

Blondcat · 06/12/2018 13:14
