@Napssavelives
Ohhh does that look like a boy..

Napssavelives · 04/12/2018 13:38

I already have 2 so we are expecting another boy!

toasterstrudle · 04/12/2018 13:39

Aww what a brilliant happy thread this afternoon! Great news @Napssavelives and @R4ch4el!

R4ch4el · 04/12/2018 13:39

Thanks everyone, I’m so bloody relieved! Just going to put my feet up for a day or two I think. 12 week scan on Thursday evening so that should provide some more reassurance too :)

@bigonesmallone it’s amazing how invested you get in peoples lives on here isn’t it!

@sassehmonsta keeping everything crossed for you that it’s not diabetes, especially so early on.

Congratulations on the scan @napssavelives, woohoo!!

Fabuluce · 04/12/2018 13:45

Lovely scan @Napssavelives !

Blondcat · 04/12/2018 13:46

@r4ch4el so happy for a positive outcome was really rooting for you.

@napssaveslives yay on scan.

fee1234 · 04/12/2018 13:46

@Napssavelives beautiful clear scan pic! 😊

stellarfox · 04/12/2018 13:48

@R4ch4el Oh what a relief! So happy for you!! Definitely take it easy for a few days. Shame you had to wait so long this morning when it’s such a worrying time, but at least the outcome was positive!

@napssavelives Lovely scan, congratulations!

@sasseh would that be gestational diabetes or the general diabetes? Fingers crossed it isn’t either!

Had all our boilers checked today and it passed the tests. My carbon monoxide alarm was just over 4 years old so I think it was faulty. So glad it was that rather than breathing in carbon monoxide!

Reastie · 04/12/2018 13:57

Stellar that’s a relief for you!

Nap brilliant photo

R4ch4l thank goodness for that! What a relief! Had us all worried there!

Sass fingers crossed not for the diabetes. Did you have it last time?

Toomany nooooooooo to no lunch at the lunch meeting, that’s just cruel.

Rubbish here, absolute rubbish. Nausea is the worst. I’ve forgotten what it feels like to be the normal me.

Ksjourney · 04/12/2018 13:58

Oh @R4ch4el that sounds so traumatic. I really do not know what to say other than wishing you strength for today

Kescilly · 04/12/2018 14:58

Oh my goodness @R4ch4el, I've just caught up. What a horrible thing to go through! So pleased for you and your baby that everything is okay. You've definitely earned lots of rest!

lstef · 04/12/2018 14:59

YAY @napssavelives and @R4ch4el !!!! woooo! happy for you!

lstef · 04/12/2018 15:25

First day on low dose meds and possibly overdone it already. Got sick of the mess in the kitchen (DP detests washing up so it piles up - bless him he has done it all himself for 6 weeks). so I did some washing up. And wanted to cook a bulk meal to reduce the ready meal consumption - put everything in my pressure cooker, then felt sick and had to sit down. oopsie. But maybe DP wont come home to a messy kitchen yet again if I can finish the job!

Nausea is more manageable now though.

@Reastie sorry you're having a rough day(s) - and same to everyone else feeling ill.

2 sleeps til my scan! aaaah!

SassehMonsta · 04/12/2018 15:31

Not sure if it will be proper diabetes or just gestational. I'll ask. I had GD last time and failed my GTT at 6 weeks post-pregnancy, but haven't been back since (naughty me). I don't do glucose well at all.

Heading home from work early as I feel terrible and have stopped en route for a Greggs pizza slice - I just can't get enough carbs!

Been reading through today's posts whilst I wait and was so relieved to hear @R4ch4el amazing news after such a horrible scare - so happy for you!! ☺️

Ksjourney · 04/12/2018 15:44

Omg @R4ch4el what fantastic news! I am so relieved for you. Must have been an awful 24 hours for you.

WeeBean · 04/12/2018 16:34

@sk17 I'm so sorry you're going through this! Hopefully they can get you an MRI sooner so you know either way. My dad was diagnosed with MS 25 years ago, we also have 2 family friends with it and a colleague's wife also has it. There are two different kinds, my dad's is constant but there's also one where the person can relapse, that means they can lead a completely normal life most of the time until they have an "attack", one of our family friends has that kind and it really doesn't impact her most of the time, she still goes to music festivals, skiing and horse riding etc. The other kind is harsher but my dad is proof that it's not the end of the world. There's loads of support out there and I regularly see updates on new treatments. My colleague's wife swears by a form of cannabis oil. Please talk to your family or someone else, your mental health is so so important. I'm not sure where you are but NI we have the MS Society and Action MS, two great charities. If you need to chat send me a message!

@JBCG I would go to your doctor and ask for something. I've been vomiting between 2 and 5 times a day every day since 5 weeks, went to the doctor at 8 weeks and she gave cyclizine, which did nothing but she was happy to give me something else that has helped, it's now 1-2 times a day with the odd day of 3 times but it's really helped the nausea. Please don't suffer on when you don't need to, I've been signed off work since week 8 when I got home from honeymoon.

I thought last time I had turned a corner as I felt great for the first time in 7 weeks but I was sick this morning, only the once though! I'm 12 weeks on Friday, hoping this is the nausea and sickness starting to subside. Our scan isn't until next Thursday, I'm just wishing the days away to see that everything is ok in there!

MauisLeftNipple · 04/12/2018 16:57

That's fantastic news R4ch4el

Lovely pic Naps

MauisLeftNipple · 04/12/2018 17:02

Fabuluce I've never seen Ella's prune pouches in the shops here. I suppose i could whiz up a few of these soggy tinned ones with some juice. Starting to get stressed about my bowels, my tummy feels really hard. I've drunk so much water today too.

MadeInCornwallx3 · 04/12/2018 19:25

Just catching up - my goodness @R4ch4el what a rollercoaster! So so happy for you that the baby is fine.

@Napssavelives Lovely scan photo! Good luck telling the kids! How old are they?

Hope everyone else is feeling as well as they can.

Napssavelives · 04/12/2018 19:33

4 and 5. Told them, took a video, was so sweet, their little faces! They are so excited

Fabuluce · 04/12/2018 20:14

@MauisLeftNipple those prune pouches were a godsend when DS was weaning - he had such solid painful poos that he would cry every time he went (only plus point being that at least we knew when he was going to go and had time to whip up to the changing mat and get prepared for exit which meant minimum wiping down!). Order some on amazon for back up (pardon the pun)? Amazingly I managed to have a reasonable one this afternoon so I haven't taken any more lactulose. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing at the moment but am drinking like a fish to be on the safe side. Definitely mix the tinned prunes with orange juice as that's a laxative too. Good luck!

toomanyflatwhites · 05/12/2018 08:22

Morning all, how's everyone today? Anyone else got a scan? We have our 12 week scan at 11.30 today - and because the private one was only last week I haven't had the nerves. So now my crazy brain has started telling me that no nerves means we are about to discover something is terribly wrong 🙄
So irrational!!

Kescilly · 05/12/2018 08:25

@toomanyflatwhites good luck at the scan! Try to relax, I know how difficult it can be.

I’m 15(!) weeks today so don’t have another NHS scan until January. But we’ve booked a private gender scan for Christmas Eve to help us get over the disappointment of the Harmony test.

I’ve started feeling like my clothes are getting a bit tight which in turn has left me feeling fat, not pregnant. I need to get on with buying some maternity clothes although I feel like it’s so early for that.

hexagon01 · 05/12/2018 08:43

@Kescilly I’ve been in my maternity leggings since 5 weeks! They’re just so comfy. I only ever wear leggings when I’m pregnant. I’m finding it very hard to dress at the moment as I’m very clearly pregnant (even though only 11+6) so I’m living in shapeless clothes which is not my usual style AT ALL. Can’t wait til after my scan on Friday, if everything is okay I’m definitely showing off the mini bump. I find maternity clothes often look nice even before you’re big if you get the right ones Smile
