@R4ch4el oh how awful and scary. I dunno if it helps but I've read a fair few posts on MN about people having big bleeds and baby being ok still. Are you booked in for a scan this morning? Best of luck, thinking of you and keep us posted.

toasterstrudle · 04/12/2018 08:16

Oh my gosh @R4ch4el what an absolutely awful thing for you to go through, I'm so sorry. For you to be at work too, how horrible. Really feel for you.

Fingers crossed for EPC today. It's not over until they confirm anything, I know of a few people who've had a sizeable "our of nowhere" bleed and the baby has been fine. Keeping everything crossed for you.

toasterstrudle · 04/12/2018 08:17

Also @R4ch4el you must not worry about upsetting anyone on here - that's what these boards are for - pregnancy! Unfortunately bleeds are a big part of early pregnancy for many, whatever the outcome. We're here to support pregnancy and whatever happens along the way. Really thinking for you and hoping everything is ok.

fee1234 · 04/12/2018 08:27

@R4ch4el oh god that sounds horrendous, glad you had a good colleague to support you. Keeping everything crossed for you today and will be thinking of you xx

Reastie · 04/12/2018 08:28

Gosh R4ch4l that must’ve been terrifying. Do you know what time your scan is? Shall be thinking of you and keep us updated. X

R4ch4el · 04/12/2018 08:32

Thanks everyone for being so supportive. MIL just arrived to take me to early pregnancy clinic, it’s a drop in centre so could take a little while to be seen. Just want to get it over and done with now. Will keep you posted.

JBCG · 04/12/2018 08:40

You poor thing @R4ch4el! That sound terrifying!! Best of luck for your scan though - thinking of you xx

stellarfox · 04/12/2018 08:50

@R4ch4el How awful, fingers crossed for you. Hope it doesn’t take too long this morning. Definitely post here, we are here for you!

Bigonesmallone3 · 04/12/2018 09:00

@R4ch4el
All my fingers and toes crossed for u..xx

toomanyflatwhites · 04/12/2018 09:54

@R4ch4el how terrifying and awful for you, and thank goodness for your amazing colleague - I can't believe they didn't scan you last night, seems all wrong doesn't it? But I'll echo what other said, I have heard of many people having big bleeds and still being ok but I guess you just want to know now. Thinking of you Thanks

hexagon01 · 04/12/2018 10:52

Hi @R4ch4el, I hope you’ve been seen and are getting the support you need regardless of the outcome. Lots of love.

Curlywurly3 · 04/12/2018 11:15

Oh @r4ch4el I am so sorry to hear what happened yesterday and the uncertainty you're going through now. Its nice to hear work looked after you. Thinking of you and good luck at the EPU xx

Fabuluce · 04/12/2018 12:06

Wow @R4ch4el that sounds so scary, not to mention the stress of something like that happening in front of the Board. Thank goodness for your colleague. Keeping everything crossed for you. X

Ksjourney · 04/12/2018 12:08

Wow @GreenDill though he is entirely open to his opinion. It is your body. A friend of a friends partner is actually in prison for forcing a termination on her. This is your choice - you have gone through heart break and back to have this baby! My mum was a single parent of two young children so is one of my best friends they are amazing and if they can do it you can to!

You have been let down but you are not stupid. He was actively trying for this baby! Hug cyber hug to you - it sounds so difficult but you can do this. We are here for you if you need to rant or sound board. No judgement.

@stellarfox
Hopefully it was a battery issue and you didn't have carbon monoxide in your house. It is scary. We had a battery scare last year.

@toomanyflatwhites exciting 2019 for you! Congratulations

Oh no @annihall I hope he was nicer to you as the day got on and today will be easy and he ignores you. Just think in a few months you can watch his face when you tell him how I'll you were during the training and really appreciated his attention to you (smiling).

@sk17 please do not stress yourself. I had the same thing earlier this year and my best friend had the same conversation in 2016 and both scans were fine. It is really scary - hopefully you have someone who can support you through the wait. I do feel for you though as the mri is so uncomfortable when you have nerve pain!

@JBCG go to the doctors. There really is no need to unduly suffer there are some meds which can help you reduce the sickness - they ar not a super cure all but you have options and they can help you regain some normality. There is a hyperemesis thread on MN with fantastic support!

Still feeling awful here. Roll on 16 weeks and hopefully and end to this torture

MauisLeftNipple · 04/12/2018 12:15

In the interest of not wanting to birth another poo-baby I have cracked open the prunes in juice. How many is too many and how quickly do they work? I don't want to get caught out on the school run Blush

R4ch4el · 04/12/2018 13:05

Well, what an emotional rollercoaster the last 24 hours has been!

Waited three hours for the scan this morning, that we were expecting to just confirm the loss and tell us if a D&C is needed. Only to see a very active little baby kicking and waving at us.

I’m actually in total disbelief, given the huge volume of blood, I really didn’t even consider the idea that it could be anything other than miscarriage.

Sonographer said it was a haemorrhage of blood from the lining of the womb, which has probably been there for a while but now the baby has grown it has knocked up against it and caused it to rupture. Apparently there is another build of blood showing that might also haemorrhage at some point, or reabsorb into the womb, but either way isn’t harmful to the baby.

Thanks for all of your support this morning, I really needed it xx

fee1234 · 04/12/2018 13:08

@R4ch4el fantastic news! So glad it was a positive outcome x

SassehMonsta · 04/12/2018 13:16

Phew R4ch! What a 24 hours it has been! So glad for the positive outcome!!!

In more negative news, I have chased and finally found someone to ask about my blood test results (after thinking no news was good news, I wanted to know) and it turns out my Plasma Glucose levels are raised (but my HBa1c wasn't). They want to (probably) repeat the tests, otherwise its probably diabetes. Boooooo!

But I feel there is a link between my dehydration and my high level of blood glucose - a google tells me that long term dehydration can affect the levels, so I am sticking with that thank you very much.

I so don't want it to be GD or Diabetes 1/2.

Wow @R4ch4el what fantastic news! I expect you need to take a bit of time to rest and recover from the emotional process you have been through since yesterday, so be kind to yourself.
In other less important news (total first world problem...) I have come to a training meeting over lunchtime (a half an hour walk away from my usual office) specifically because last time they had AMAZING lunch...and this time there's not even a cup of tea! Am gutted! What sort of psychopath makes a meeting 1-2 with no lunch?

Napssavelives · 04/12/2018 13:28

Scan went well. Dated me at 12+ 4 due 14yb of June. Telling the kids tonight

Bigonesmallone3 · 04/12/2018 13:28

Napssavelives · 04/12/2018 13:30

@R4ch4el So glad everything is ok xxz

toomanyflatwhites · 04/12/2018 13:31

Woohoo @Napssavelives!

Fabuluce · 04/12/2018 13:32

Bloody hell @R4ch4el what a rollercoaster indeed. I'm so very pleased for you!

😩@MauisLeftNipple good luck with the prunes. I'd be tempted to get a few of the prune Ella pouches and mix them with orange juice and yoghurt to make a smoothie. If nothing else it should taste quite nice. I had the maximum dose of lactulose yesterday. My tum went ballistic, I had some wildly crazy farts...then nothing. Nothing! Thinking of doing the same today and seeing if that will shift things...
