Proper bloods for me as I am having all of my 28 week bloods done including anaemia etc.

I think I have to have it as my BMI is quite big so automatically put me down for it.

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - I have the EMLA cream already and that has really helped do the booking in bloods etc. I also had hypnotherapy and have gone from fainting dead on the spot to merely crying and shaking which is a great improvement.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/10/2018 12:00

@moonlight1705

So silly isn’t it? I know it doesn’t hurt, and there’s no need to get worked up... but it’s completely involuntary (and embarrassing 😳).

You’ll be fine though, chin up! 👌🏼

Baby160P · 17/10/2018 12:16

Not sure on the 4D but now have a melted wax lasagne image in my head 😂

I have GTT 7th November

Yakadee · 17/10/2018 12:18

I have GTT on 29/10 - dreading the fasting! X

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/10/2018 12:38

It was proper bloods when I had the test, they were taken only for the glucose test at that time (not in conjunction with any other appointment).

Since2016 · 17/10/2018 12:50

Oh I didn’t realise there were more bloods. Ho hum- I don’t really have any issue with it thankfully - I also have v prominent veins so I’m a dream to bleed!

@bubblybrit @Notquiteagandt
Thank you both. After speaking to my auntie who's a sonogrpaher and showing her my results she has calmed me down and said they were perfect numbers and I am sure if anything was to have been an issue they would of said lol thank so much for the advice xxx

Alicejj8x · 17/10/2018 13:10

Yes I've got my glucose on the 5th November

I've been told not to eat from 10pm the previous evening my appointment is 7.40am. I will have bloods taken then I'll have to drink a drink they give you then more bloods and waiting around

AliceRR · 17/10/2018 13:44

My GTT appointment is on 6 November so seems like a view of us are close together

Baby160P · 17/10/2018 15:10

Buggy superstition?

Basically the buggy we love is on offer in November so we're holding out.... it's then 10 days delivery notice.

I just said to a friend that we will have the buggy to store somewhere from November and she was like nooooooo it's bad luck!!

Is this true???

Ps I am superstitious lol.

AliceRR · 17/10/2018 15:14

@Baby160P I am superstitious and plan to store pram at my mum’s when I get it

Poeple have different superstitious though. For some it’s not bringing pram home before baby, for others it’s not putting up the cot before baby arrives...

AliceRR · 17/10/2018 15:15

@Baby160P or I will just get it delivered later if the place I order from will accommodate that (the silver cross shop near me does and I think John Lewis does(

twiglet · 17/10/2018 16:24

It's personal choice ours was from a shop over 2 hrs away so it had to come home it's still completely boxed up though and tucked away. Also its a travel system so will definitely need the car seat!

Leonora94 · 17/10/2018 16:28

Hi guys hope everyone’s well. I’m just starting to feel little proper movements now yay (22weeks) just wanted to ask and it may sound stupid but how do you actually count kicks? Is it every single kick or every session of movement? if that makes sense...

Since2016 · 17/10/2018 16:33

Just popped into antenatal and sorted matb1 and moved glucose test to a later week (conflicts with a meeting) but apparently any time from 24 weeks is fine.

@leonora94 I don’t know - probably every session? I think as long as it’s fairly regular. I never really counted per sae with DD but made sure once a pattern was established that there weren’t too many ‘quiet periods’

I think they advise being aware of patterns of movement rather than kick counting now. www.tommys.org/pregnancy/symptom-checker/baby-fetal-movements

twiglet · 17/10/2018 17:17

I've just started using the kick counts app it's a free NHS one as I was saying to my midwife that he doesn't move during the day.
She said he probably does but when working people notice less.

Link to app apps.beta.nhs.uk/kicks-count/

twiglet · 17/10/2018 17:22

Should say on there that you register sessions of movement rather than individual kicks to help you try to see a pattern easier as I'm rubbish at realising!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 17/10/2018 17:30

Mine has a pattern now... very first thing (before I’m up!) he kicks a bit, then quietens down once I’m up and busy. Starts again around mid morning, then quietens mid afternoon, lots of movement late evening! He wakes and has the off kick about in between those times sometimes, but seems very active for a large part of my day.

Hoping this isn’t a sign of things to come! He does his worst when I’m wanting to sleep/relax 😬

Yakadee · 17/10/2018 17:49

My little one seems to move quite a lot in the day when I'm still, or lying in bed at night. Pretty much any time I am still x

Leonora94 · 17/10/2018 18:13

Okay that makes more sense tbh I think I’ll just try and figure out a pattern. Thanks guys will have a read x

AliceRR · 17/10/2018 18:15

I think it’s normal from what I’ve read for the babies to be active when we are still. I find this to be the case particularly after I have been active / walking around or whatever and then first sit down or lie down. It’s really lovely. Definitely getting stronger which is a good thing but colleague who is 7 / 8 months said her baby is moving a lot now and it hurts a lot!

powkin · 17/10/2018 18:22

Cannot believe how heavy prams are! Just tried the Joolz Day 2 (was going to eBay a secondhand one!) but it is sooooo heavy!

I don’t think of myself as particularly weak but I’m small and have a disability... AND my tube stop has no lift so would either have to beg others or take bus to a stop with a lift... we are thinking about getting a car but not sure we can afford it.

Does anyone have recommendations for lighter city prams? Think I need to seriously try-think what’s practical for me :(

powkin · 17/10/2018 18:22

*re-think not try-think!

welshweasel · 17/10/2018 18:40

Babyzen yo-yo or bugaboo bee both great city prams and are light.
