OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
trendaverter · 14/06/2007 18:36

I'll bet!

I have never been so happy to see an abundance of goo in my life. Now all I need are some major abdominal pains and I'll be on top of the world

derlor · 14/06/2007 18:37

i know Daisy - i stuck my head in earlier but lets be honest it's a bit boring compared to here so best we just gatecrash and maybe no one will notice us (just don't mention the baby ssshhhhhhhh )

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 18:37

hee hee, i'm feeling smug......babydaisy has got the whole BF thing sorted...no more sore norks for me, not even engorgement going on really....although had a bit yesterday when she slept all day!

pinguthepenguin · 14/06/2007 18:38

Thnks for the kind words TA, especially when you're so frustrated yourself....I've been fine up til now, but DP took 10 days off work, starting on my due date last sat, and nothing has happened. He is self-employed, so more or less HAS to go back on tuesday, so the pressure to get things going is magnified by this I guess. Feel pissed off that, despite having good intentions to spend quality time with bambino, it isn't likely to happen now- at least not for more than a lousy day or two, grrrr!

Daisy- how do you perform a self-sweep?

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 18:38

TA...get side stepping up and down stairs and bouncing on that ball....i'll even join foxy on the cervical visualisation if you like?

derlor · 14/06/2007 18:39

i know what you mean TA the thought of being in that much pain would normally be your worst fear but right now "BRING IT ON!!!!!"

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 18:39

What baby?
Aren't you guys way overdue?

Daisy take your smug BF success to the postnatal threads please, you can only play here if you wish to whinge.

ow ow ow ow ow ow ow please tell me these are real pains no more sodding bhs please

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 18:39

it's on one of the older threads...I'll see if I can find it for you!

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 18:43

Hey Daisy whatever floats your boat, by all means visualise my cervix!

Aw pingu it sucks that your DH has taken time off - it must be very difficult in that situation. I wish I could give tips that would speed things up for you but I have tried almost everything, I think sadly they just come when they are good and ready

It is terribly frustrating I know, esp fielding off all the well meaning 'aren't you in labour yet?' phone calls, but hang on in there, be strong and keep a sense of humour...it WILL come!

derlor · 14/06/2007 18:43

yes TA i'm 41+3 now (honest)
Pingu don't hold out much hope for the self sweep - bet your arms are not long enough to reach!! - maybe you could get DH/DP to do it for you though???

pinguthepenguin · 14/06/2007 18:45

Derlor- At this stage, I think DP would rather shag me than give me an internal- and even then he would say he was being generous, hahahaha!!

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 18:45

OK, I can whinge about the rolls of fat left over from all the bars of galaxy I ate, the pain from my scar, the lack of sleep, and more worrying the split abdominal muscle and the fact that I can feel something from the inside bulging out of the gap....its really very attractive!

but i do have a baby to cuddle

derlor · 14/06/2007 18:45

I totally agree with you TA - i think people just assume that whatever they were last doing/eating before labour actually had something to do with it but really i suspect it is all a lot of bollocks and they will come when they are ready whatever you are doing!!

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 18:46

OOh a shag is good too! Take what you can get girl, tell him it's his bloody duty, he got you here he can help get you out!

derlor · 14/06/2007 18:47

watch out Daisy you're gonna get your pigtails pulled then you won't get picked for skipping if you're not careful!!

doggus · 14/06/2007 18:47

I lost you all - doh.

Thanks, daisyboo, feeling better but numb really. Have been shopping today which always helps even in times of extreme crisis. I bought a Missoni handbag in TKMaxx for £50 (should have been £200 so am smug).

Hi bumper - the way I feel now, induction (?) would be welcome. I walked past two ladies when shopping and heard one say to the other 'Christ, she was ENORMOUS'. Charming.

Many congrats to SFL!

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 18:47

TA....can you put a new message on your answering machine to the effect that you haven't had the baby yet, and that DH will advise people as and when it happens, and could they please refrainn from calling again and give you some uch needed pre-labour peace and quiet.

Of course you can be more or less blunt than that if you want!!

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 18:49

LOL Daisy ok based on that you are permitted to loiter a little longer but as soon as that scar of yours heals you can bugger off.

Yes Derlor I was thinking, a lot of people get contractions starting in the middle of the night while they are asleep, does that mean if I sleep all day I will go into labour?

derlor · 14/06/2007 18:49

Doggus - you should have shouted back "at least i'll be thin again soon, you'll STILL be an ugly cheeky cow!!" would have made you feel MUCH better x

pinguthepenguin · 14/06/2007 18:49

TA- i know what you mean about annoying incessant texts. The latest I'm getting from people at work start with stupid things like 'I take it something has started by now?'
I mean, seriously! what do they think I'm going to do if/when something HAS happened? fucking stop mid-labour while I rely????

oh dear, naughty foul-mouthed pingu

daisyboo · 14/06/2007 18:51

I think I'm getting sympathy pains here...either that or I ate too much cottage pie at teatime!

Doggus, it's great to have you back. It will get easier in time .
I'm very of your bag. I never thought about tkmaxx for bags...must have a look next time I'm in town.

trendaverter · 14/06/2007 18:52

LOL Pingu!
Yes honestly what do they think? Between my text buddy, DH, Mum and the bloody hospital, I have enough people to tell, why all of a sudden am I going to announce to people that I haven't seen in 6 months "oooh, I'm in labour now, just letting you know!"

derlor · 14/06/2007 18:52

LOL TA - if i were you i'd sleep all day anyway, aparantly when you have a baby you may be up for a short while during the night on the odd occasion - so i'm told!!!

annobal · 14/06/2007 18:53

I hear that TKMax also have Bulgari bags for £125 (marked down from £450!) and really nice bed linen. There's one not too far from us in Lewisham so I may have to mosey on over. If my waters break, there is a Mothercare nearby (it was Mothercare wasn't it?)...

hollyandalice · 14/06/2007 18:53

TA if you are in any way lazy or like your sleep then bfing is the way forward! I mean who wants to be getting up every 2-3 hours to make bottles? Serious effort! Much easier to reach over, grab screaming baby and shove it on a nork! Then you can have a little snooze whilst baby sucks away! Brilliant! I'm sure laziness was the main reason I bfed for so long!

Hope you are well and enjoying your lo derlor!
