I could not feel more rubbish. Already had quite a lot of random stomach pain before the shingles but the tablets are making it hurt sooooo much more 😫😩 I’m so miserable right now!

Camsie30 · 13/10/2018 22:15

@AliceRR I've just watched a load of youtube videos and if I'm right, this should be all you need, apart from a wet bag for when you're out. I seem to remember going through more than 8 in a day when my daughter was a newborn, but bearing in mind each nappy costs £15.99 usually, this is a serious bargain.. worth a try I reckon

twiglet · 14/10/2018 04:34

Well the sleeping thing didn't last, plus side I ordered the wet bag and a few other bits and remembered that I had a voucher as a thank you from a work event so technically free.

I started having a tight pain in my bum cheek really hoping that I'm not adding sciatica to the pelvic girdle pain list! Going to do some stretches from yoga in the morning.

emalady · 14/10/2018 07:32

@twiglet hope the stretching helps.

emalady · 14/10/2018 08:03

So I got up early (7.30) to go to the gym, little vomit cleaning teeth, assumed I had been too aggressive with the toothbrush but was sick again on the walk to the gym. Given up on that plan. I thought I had got past the vomit phase. Feeling really miserable and sorry for myself now.

Yakadee · 14/10/2018 08:50

@emalady - aww man. At least you tried, further than I've got! Fingers crossed your day picks up x

Yakadee · 14/10/2018 09:00

How's everyone's diets? I've been eating badly recently and really need to get back on track. Unfortunately I'm really quite fussy (Don't really like fruits, fish, salad - I know right 🤦‍♀️).

Anyone got any 'go-to' healthy meal ideas that might inspire me to sort myself out? Xxx

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/10/2018 09:10

emalady I've been feeling nauseous too Sad I think mine is indigestion related though as gaviscon helps. I've never had indigestion before so it's all new. Worth a try?

yakadee I'm eating healthy stuff but also so many treats as well, I dread to think of how much I weigh, especially as I'd put on so much by the 12 week scan thanks to my carb and crisp beige diet.

How about soups for lunch? Obviously homemade is better but you can buy really nice fresh ones too, with a wholemeal pita bread or something? And nice things for dinner which are healthy but appealing! Homemade curries, risotto, pasta dishes with wholemeal pasta? I love fruit so I've been eating more as snacks as I'm hungry a lot more!

twiglet · 14/10/2018 09:17

Sad I still can't get it to reduce off

Diet isn't too bad I like doing baked eggs but chuck in a load more veg such as mushrooms, courgettes for a very quick easy dinner.

Yakadee · 14/10/2018 09:24

Thanks ladies. I think I just need to do some proper planning, too easy to get naughty stuff when in a rush. We've been eating quite a lot of roast chicken dinners, I can squeeze loads of veg in and it is lovely.

I'll have to have a prep session and do so some shopping xx

lanalawr · 14/10/2018 09:36

My diet hasn't been brilliant recently because we've had limited access to the kitchen while the boiler was being replaced/rewiring done. Trying to get back on track a bit more now and really want veggies! I'm going to try making this tomorrow because am on the lookout for new things to cook. I'm fed up of cooking the same things.

How about stews/casseroles now that it's getting colder? You could have them with rice/mash/jacket potato.
Anyone who's been looking at the reusable nappy deal on Amazon- I just went to try to get them and they've sold out. 😔

Yakadee · 14/10/2018 09:40

Thanks @lanalawr. That looks really nice. I think have my problem is forward planning. I love stews etc.

I need to do a weekly plan x

sickmumma · 14/10/2018 10:02

My diet has been dreadful this whole pregnancy! At the moment I am craving chomps, iced buns/hot cross buns and apples (I say craving these are the only things I can keep down) I manage these for breakfast/ snacks and then a light lunch such as soup and a roll most day but come dinner time I am eating a toddler sized portion and only managing a few select meals as meat is making me feel ill although I managed a cottage pie the other day and don't think I've eaten so much the whole pregnancy! My DH is fed up of pasta haha! I've managed a stir fry with lots of veg, the cotttage pie and a carvery without the meat 🙈 and they are about he healthiest meals I've had! I can't wait to be able to eat normally and not have my day dictated by food!

At the moment I feel sick as I've woken up and don't fancy anything and have no hot cross buns, I only managed half a chicken sandwich for dinner last night as I literally though I was going to be sick! I've got to go into town to get DS presents for tomorrow and I'll have to stop at the local Sainsbury's first to stock up and hope that makes me feel better!!

Surprisedmom · 14/10/2018 10:30

Like many of you I am still feeling queasy at points (though i’ve often been that way in the mornings even pre-pregnancy). My general routine is crackers once I wake up which helps settle my stomach so I can eat more a little while after. During the week at work i’m not so willing to chance being sick so have found that popcorn (the mix of salty and sweet) is a good second along with some juice. After this I can usually stomach most things.

These snacks obviously might not work for you, but I guess my technique is to eat things that settle my stomach followed by something else shortly after and that seems to be helping a lot. That might work for you too.

AliceRR · 14/10/2018 10:36

@Camsie30 Thanks. I had a look at the mio website too. I think this set comes with two laundry bags so you put the laundry bag in the bucket and put dirty nappies in there to be washed.

I don’t know if you need liners each time too. Some come with it so thought I’d just see how that goes as I can buy those any time.

@yakadee I think I could be eating more healthily! I haven’t put on any weight apart from my baby bump though (as far as I can tell)

Baby160P · 14/10/2018 10:54

I read this as I've just had a macdonalds breakfast 🙈

Lack of shopping in and off to buggy shop so conventionally macd's was next door 😩

Off to the o2 tonight too so dinner out as well

AliceRR · 14/10/2018 10:55

@Baby160P I’ve has a few McDonalds to be fair especially if there’s nothing in to eat!

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/10/2018 11:11

I've had more McDonald's in this pregnancy than I think I've had in the last 3 years! I craved it when I was really sick at the beginning, and we've had it as a treat twice. I think I've had about 3 or 4 in 5 months!!! Would never normally have it unless drunk or hungover.

powkin · 14/10/2018 12:01

Physically I’m no more hungry but psychologically I want to eat a whole corner shop’s worth of sugar. I’ve struggled to not be really greedy!

Yakadee · 14/10/2018 12:13

Well, just done a shop and bought loads of healthier snacks and some stuff to make a stew x

AliceRR · 14/10/2018 12:38

I’m eating a lot of sugar but thinks it’s habit. I’ve always had a sweet tooth but wasn’t interested in chocolate etc in first trimester. I ate sweets but that was mainly to help with sickness etc. Now I’m back to my old habits to some degree but enjoying fruit so trying to eat more of that!

Baby160P · 14/10/2018 13:21

Anyone interested mothercare have 'parents to be' events. Our branch in Essex has one in a couple of weeks. We just got told in store and registered.

On the event evening you get 10% off everything. Our buggy we want is in a offer until November and she said you get the discount on top of that.

Bargain!

GeriatricShmeriatric · 14/10/2018 13:41

@lanalawr Oh no I was about to order some of the cloth nappies 😖 Such a good deal! I wonder if they will come back in stock... although seems to have just disappeared as supposed to showing 'out of stock' so maybe the very low price was a mistake..

Notquiteagandt · 14/10/2018 13:48

Feeling very very very sorry for myself stuck in hospital. Been diagnosed with Cholestasis (pregnancy related liver disease-my liver hormones basicly clash with pregnancy hormones) and its made my gallbladder rather painfully and dramatically give up. Just another pregnancy related illness to add to the list.

Honnestly though made me realise how much this baby means to me. Felt so scared until mw checked her over.

Honnestly roll on february as im not sure how much more my body can take.

My anixity is back with a vengance hb was upto 130 yesterday!! And I cant stop crying. Hormones are a bitch!!

Just need to rant as im finding this all so overwelming and difficult.

Fredthespider · 14/10/2018 14:05

Awww @Notquiteagandt it does sound like you're having a rough time of it! I hope you're feeling better soon, is there a treatment for cholestasis?
