@DragonFlew - thanks xx

DragonFlew · 13/10/2018 09:43

@lanalawr you can choose whether to collect from local children centre or have it shipped to you (costs £7.95 to ship)

cw96 · 13/10/2018 10:23

@surprisedmom what's a cat net and where can I get one? never heard of them, got 2 cats of my own and they sound like a good idea!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 13/10/2018 11:11

I’m going to play it by ear with the cat... she isn’t allowed in the bedrooms and rarely tries it, however she may be tempted with a new person in there?

She’s not a lap cat either, so I can’t see her wanting to climb in for a snuggle..

Baby160P · 13/10/2018 11:21

If anyone's looking a friend is selling all her maternity bits.

Dresses, shirts, jeans, band bumps, tops, hoody etc.

lanalawr · 13/10/2018 11:57

@DragonFlew thanks! Do the people who've got one think it's worth it (if you have to pay the postage)?

DragonFlew · 13/10/2018 12:06

@lanalawr I wouldn't have paid the postage to be honest! However others have said they got samples/wipes/nappies etc in theirs. I literally only got the box and mattress!

Surprisedmom · 13/10/2018 13:08

@Cw96, I think cat nets are essentially like mosquito net type things that go over the cot to stop the cat jumping in. A friend suggested them and I found them on amazon, you can different sizes for the cot/Moses basket but they’re not very expensive and I thought would ease my mind if I leave the room for a few minutes while the pets are around.

Surprisedmom · 13/10/2018 13:10

If anyone is planning on using reusable nappies I found a great deal on Amazon.

The Bambino Mio set, if you choose a mix of patterns and are willing to wait for them to deliver (nov/dec) is just £23!

It’s an unbelievable deal I stumbled across whilst browsing. If it was a random website I’d be dubious but it’s Amazon stocked and delivered so I reckon it’s just them trying to clear random stock. Thought some of you might like to order them too at that price.

emalady · 13/10/2018 15:48

@suprisedmom I was going to try the nappy lady 3 week trial once she reaches 10lb but that sounds like a great deal!
Probably should have a look at the cat nets, so far she isn't interested in the nursery as it doesn't get as much sun but I think she might like the crib.

Surprisedmom · 13/10/2018 16:46

@emalady yeah my cat already tried to get in a baby bouncer a friend gave me, I think once filled with bedding and smelling all milky and babyish that cots and Moses baskets look perfect to a cat.

twiglet · 13/10/2018 17:08

Thanks @Surprisedmom for £23 I'm willing to give it a go! I had been slightly put off by the initial outlay if it didn't work out for us but at the cost of a takeaway it's worth it!

powkin · 13/10/2018 17:17

Massive TMI here... knew I needed to poop but didn’t want to go down at the beach. Thought I could make it home and literally only just did. I’ve never been so close to pooping myself in my whole life. Things are really starting to get squashed! Might be the antiviral tablets not helping but I had to ask my husband to walk on ahead of me as I was so worried I might and didn’t want him to see the indignity. And so it begins... pregnancy seems to be a slow process of ripping you of your dignity until you are prepared for the childbirth experience.

Yakadee · 13/10/2018 17:41

So glad you made it, I bet that was awful! X

AliceRR · 13/10/2018 18:15

@surprisedmom Thanks! That’s a fab deal for the nappies! I actually didnt know about reusable nappies like that before. The term conjured images in my mind of the terry towel nappies that my mum used on me!! These seem like a really good idea and DH likes the idea with them being environmentally friendly.

Haven’t bought anything for baby yet as I still keep thinking it’s early but realistically I was planning to buy around Dec/Jan and these won’t arrive immediately from the look of it...

Since2016 · 13/10/2018 18:58

In the subject of animals - our dog (a fat pug) got onto the weighing scales when midwife came to weigh dd at home. Mortifying!

Powkin that sounds grim and yes pregnancy is indeed a joy!!

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 13/10/2018 19:00

@powkin oh no!

It really does drain you of dignity and bladder control.

AliceRR · 13/10/2018 19:11

We ordered three sets of the reusable nappies. I figured I would need at least two and thought I might give a set as a gift to my friend who is due a few weeks after me so DH was all for ordering 3!

Alicejj8x · 13/10/2018 20:28

When OH feels baby girl move for the first time 😍🎀💕

Yakadee · 13/10/2018 20:30

@Alicejj8x - aww! It's the best x

emalady · 13/10/2018 20:39

@suprisedmom I just ordered a set of nappies too, DH initially thought I was a bit mad until I told him the price, it's worth a go for £23.
@powkin I guess that's part of how we get prepared for the indignity of labor 😂. That does sound pretty rubbish though, hopefully a one off!!

carly2803 · 13/10/2018 20:56

hi ladies! hope your all okay!

has anyone felt movement? im almost 22 weeks and my little one has startedto develop some patterns - mostly early morning, lunch time and evening! (this is my first)

didnt get a baby box at all - but all my pregnant friends have - they are due after me too!!

Camsie30 · 13/10/2018 21:36

On the reusable nappy front... What else would you need apart from what is in that kit? Keen to try but nervous about the hassle of it.... All advice welcome!

AliceRR · 13/10/2018 21:43

@Camsie30 I was wondering this too. Thought we might need nappy liners. And also saw there are some padded inserts to make them more absorbent for night but thought buying three sets (due to massive discount) was enough for now!

I welcome advice on this too!!

Lookingforadvice123 · 13/10/2018 21:54

powkin you poor thing!!! My mum gave me some good advice before I had DS which was so true - in childbirth, you do kind of have to leave your dignity at the delivery room door, but you pick it right back up on your way out!
