I’m 22 weeks today... and have only seen one small movement a couple of weeks ago, my partner has felt one kick... but it’s not visually obvious at all!

Feels like it should be though! I am feeling big rolls, and hard kicks now.. lots of those horrible low down kicks too (I’d forgotten how weird they were 😬)

Celebelly · 11/10/2018 20:02

Just about to hit 23 weeks. I think he should be able to feel her soon - it doesn't help that she likes to hide when he puts his hand on my tummy and is most active when he's not around! But it feels so strong to me I get frustrated when he says he can't feel it! Grr.

I get a lot of kicks to my bladder, which aren't very nice. And every so often once so big that it actually gives me a fright!

maxiflump1 · 11/10/2018 20:09

I'm 23 weeks tomorrow and suddenly feel huge and very pregnant! Struggling to get up and down when sat on the floor now! Does anyone else find their bump changes during the day? In the morning it's quite soft and squishy but by tea time it feels rock hard. Think it was the same with DS too but I seem to have blanked a lot of it out!!

Yakadee · 11/10/2018 20:14

@maxiflump1 - I'm 23+4 and yes, feeling very pregnant! I feel huge by the end of the day so would agree it changes x

Lookingforadvice123 · 11/10/2018 20:33

DH felt some kicks for the first time last week which was lovely! He felt it much earlier with DS and my nice posterior placenta (can you tell this anterior placenta annoys me Angry) but when I lie on my back in bed for a bit, the baby kicks super hard really low down, so it was easy for him to feel. I'm 21+2 and still only have a few little movements throughout the day, the bigger ones start at night in bed. Stupid placenta. Doesn't worry me but I hope it increases soon, I loved the movements so much with DS.

emalady · 11/10/2018 21:14

I'm 23+2 with DC1 and a posterior placenta but still feeling hardly anything, no chance of DH feeling her yet. I'm kinda tubby which isn't helping and I know it's normal but I'm definitely getting more worried with everyone else seemingly getting lots already.

DragonFlew · 11/10/2018 21:21

@Lookingforadvice123 I could've written the same thing! Sounds like our bumps are very similar!

Since2016 · 11/10/2018 21:32

No external kicks here yet but lots and lots more movement - massive massive relief as I was freaking out. I’m 22 weeks tomorrow and this is so different to with DD. Its much more subtle - cheers placenta but have another scan next week so that will help.

Yakadee · 11/10/2018 21:35

@emalady - it's hard to not worry (I'm sure every one of us on here has / will do) but I'm sure everything is fine.

Everyone is different, and they say not to worry about movement until baby is in a clear pattern / you're used to their movements.

If you are ever worried though don't hesitate to call in xx

clairehr · 11/10/2018 21:44

I'm with the anterior placenta group. I'm feeling lots of movement now, just very low down and usually when laying down. OH has felt baby a few times though which is lovely.

Since2016 · 11/10/2018 21:46

Agree with @yakadee @emalady it’s hard when it seems like everyone else has lots of movement but every baby - and every pregnancy is different. A lot can change in a few days - this one has suddenly got a lot more movement but it’s a sudden change. Don’t worry and if still not that much movement mention to your MW who should be able to reassure you xx

Lookingforadvice123 · 11/10/2018 21:50

Ye I'm more sad because I can't help comparing it to my last pregnancy, where I loved the endless movements so much. That said I was very anxious through that pregnancy and it probably didn't help that I felt DS throughout the day, as I would stress if I hadn't felt him for literally 20 minutes. Whereas so far with this one I'm used to not feeling a thing for hours, and I know he's fine, so it doesn't worry me, if that makes sense? I just hope I do get the lovely big movements that I can watch later on as it used to fascinate me!

powkin · 12/10/2018 05:11

Just been woken up by the worst leg cramp :( genuinely couldn’t move. I was in agony for what felt like minutes and DH didn’t even stir! I think my shoes caused the problem, I did loads of walking yesterday in uncomfortable shoes. They used to be amazing but the elastic has gone so they are too loose and of course they aren’t sold anymore :( will have to buy some new plain black shoes this weekend!

DragonFlew · 12/10/2018 07:00

For those in England or anyone who won't get a Baby Box and would like one. Log on to babyboxuniversity.co.uk and you watch some videos and do a quiz and then you get a free Baby Box! I did it last night you can either get it shipped to you or pick it up from local children's centre!

emalady · 12/10/2018 07:08

@dragonflew I saw that a while ago and forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder!!

clairehr · 12/10/2018 07:22

@powkin I was up last night with leg cramp too! And it's actually strained the muscle! My mum got leg cramps badly in pregnancy, I'm hoping this doesnt mean it will continue!

powkin · 12/10/2018 09:03

@clairehr I’m so exhausted now! Took me forever to get back to sleep. I used to get bad cramps all the time so it was a horrible throw back. I’m sleeping poorly anyway due to being crap at side sleeping and waking up a millions times to try and turn myself over. The last few nights I’ve given up and have propped myself up at a really high angle on my big maternity pillow. I figure I’m not flat on my back so might be better 🤷‍♀️

Yakadee · 12/10/2018 09:08

@powkin - you can be on your back as long as you're propped up. Xx

DragonFlew · 12/10/2018 12:46

Had our scan this morning. Everything is looking perfect :)

Yakadee · 12/10/2018 14:02

@DragonFlew - that's fab xx

AliceRR · 12/10/2018 15:42

@powkin @yakadee I was wondering this re lying on back eg had an ecg at gp surgery and was lying on the bed and had dentist yesterday (fairly flat) and not sure how long it is ok to lie on back for? I know we’re not supposed to sleep on our backs but what about for things like that?

Yakadee · 12/10/2018 15:57

I gave birth lying down so it can't be that bad for 'short' periods. Xx

Rowse · 12/10/2018 15:58

I've been getting mild leg cramps this week and a really bad one in my foot a few days ago, I actually yelled out loud it was so painful! Haven't had them since I was a teenager and hoping it doesn't get too bad, they're really annoying!

I generally sleep on my side but I've woken up on my back a few times, I did a bit of research and the NHS advice is not to fall asleep on your back and if you wake on your back, move to your side and don't worry.

The details are here www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/tiredness-sleep-pregnant/

powkin · 12/10/2018 16:00

Most of the actual research on lying on your back refers to end for third trimester but still it is dished out from second onward! I think 30 mins would be totally fine. Even if you just ask to shift your weight or to be not totally flat then that would be fine.

Yakadee · 12/10/2018 16:17

I spend a lot of time in an evening just chilled on the cough. I do lay on my back but really propped up. I never feel tingly or headachy so I'm sure it's fine. I did the same when my son and no issues x
