@Celebelly @BFB6AT. Think I’ll call them tomorrow to see what they advise! Thanks xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 01/10/2018 22:13

I have a symptom I’ve not had in previous pregnancies.... skin tags 🤢🤢

I didn’t know this was even a thing till I googled 😩

Seriously considering emla cream and some scissors... anyone know of any better methods?

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 01/10/2018 22:14

The dental floss method won’t work, it’s too small. Still far too big for my liking though!

Alicejj8x · 02/10/2018 06:19

@MrsY87
Ahh bless you. It's such a funny pain and really does make it so sore to get comfy.

I'll defo be doing these stretches. Thank you x

Baby160P · 02/10/2018 06:36

What's everyone doing sleeping wise? I've been trying to sleep on my left or right for a while now but woke twice in the night on my back and felt really bad.

Yakadee · 02/10/2018 06:51

@bubblybrit - I got loads with my first pregnancy, they're so annoying aren't they! I actually just left mine and a lot went after I'd had my son!

@Baby160P - I was told it's ok if you wake up on your back, just move. Your body has a way of telling you xx

emalady · 02/10/2018 07:22

@Notasgreenascabbagelooking I know some people that have bought the verruca freeze stuff and used that at the base of the skin tags with good effects.

Busy day yesterday, had flu and WC vaccination and repeat scan for the bits they couldn't get at my 20 week scan. Really reassured and very happy.

fizzledays · 02/10/2018 07:59

@Baby160P I am constantly waking up on my back! I've tried 2 different types of pregnancy pillows but they're just not working. I hurt my shoulder badly last year and had to train myself to sleep on my back for about 10 months, so I'm struggling! I fall asleep on my side and shift back to my side when I wake up.

I was coming on here this morning to see if anyone had any success with any other pillows!!

welshweasel · 02/10/2018 08:01

I’ve got a dreamgenii pillow which seems to keep me on my left side all night!

twiglet · 02/10/2018 08:13

I was really bad for waking up on my back I have the summer infant maternity pillow from jojo mamanbene it works pretty well as I can wrap both sides behind my back which stops me rolling over

AliceRR · 02/10/2018 08:16

I’ve got the summer infant maternity pillow too and I like that but it has developed a sort of kink in it which is annoying 🤔

Since2016 · 02/10/2018 09:06

I start on my side but end up on my back. Don’t worry though, once you get bigger it’s v uncomfortable to lie on your back so that will help. Like a PP said - as long as you start in your side that’s how you’ll have slept for the majority of it.

I fell over at nursery drop off - have really hurt my knee and ankle 😫😫😫😫

Since2016 · 02/10/2018 09:06

Ps. Have dream genie which does help

Alicejj8x · 02/10/2018 09:19

I've got the summer infant pillow from
Jojo maman bebe also I love love it xx

BFB6AT · 02/10/2018 09:21

I have a 12ft pillow and I spoon it one side and get OH to shove it really tight against my back so I can't roll over! I am a real fidget and it's been amazing, I'm sleeping so much better because of it! I wake up twice a night for a wee and alternate from my left to my right side for the remainder of the night. Although OH hates it and says I have Hadrian's Wall around me lol!!! X

Lulabell1 · 02/10/2018 09:40

Is anyone else having a babyshower?

My mum, cousin and sister have planned one for me and its 20th of this month now im thinking thats very soon you normally do them near the end but Feb is such an awkward month because you have xmas new year and then Jan everyone is back to work and cant take time off and also very tight on cash then feb he will be here!

Since2016 · 02/10/2018 09:49

I’m not - I had one with DD but feels a bit odd to do one for a second (for me anyway). That said, my best friend, mum and SIL are all quite insistent I have one... so I’ve said maybe afternoon tea or something in Jan / December as a last chance to see everyone. I find things like that hard anyway as all the attention focussed on me - and I had a lovely one the first time round. Poor second babies!!

Leonora94 · 02/10/2018 10:03

My scans this afternoon! Super nervous/excited...busy today as I’ve tried to squeeze it all in so jabs this morning, dentist at lunch then the scan! x

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 02/10/2018 10:14

I never had a baby shower with DD. It's not my sort of thing. I don't mind going to my friends just not on for me.

My SIL is expecting her first and I write a parenting blog so have invited her to visit The Baby Show with me to do some baby shopping while I blog about it.

HugoBearsMummy · 02/10/2018 10:21

Leonora94 are you finding out the sex? My scan is next Friday (12th) I’ll be 20+2 Weeks then- we’re going to find out. Had a dream last night we had a girl! Can’t wait to find out 🙂

Celebelly · 02/10/2018 10:21

Yeah I'm not really in to baby showers etc. so won't be having one. We have had some bits and pieces as presents already from family and friends, though!

BFB6AT · 02/10/2018 10:32

I'll be having one nearer the time, maybe end of Jan/beginning Feb but I'm not one to be centre of attention so I've asked for it to be quiet and low key!!!

Surprisedmom · 02/10/2018 10:34

I’m not into the baby shower idea. To be honest even if I were i’ve moved to my parents so nowhere near my friends (a lot of whom aren’t even in the uk) so it wouldn’t be reasonable to ask them to come all the way out to visit me just for an afternoon and we don’t have the space to host more than a couple of people overnight. My friends have all been very kind and generous so far though - one even bought me a Moses basket - and planning individual visits, so I feel like the baby shower is essentially just being spread out.

FrowningFlamingo · 02/10/2018 10:35

I'm not sure I'd want a baby shower and all my friends are geographically far apart so I don't think it's practical! I have lots of individual friends rather than a friendship group too so I think it wouldn't work well!!

I find the dream beanie pillow helpful and even if a do roll onto my back it keeps me at a slight angle which apparently is still ok.
I also bought a wedge really cheaply from tk maxx so I can lie on my back at the weekends when I'm awake but not ready to get out of bed Grin - I'm trying to take the opportunity while I still can!

Surprisedmom · 02/10/2018 10:38

P.s. regarding the sleeping this appeared on my local NCT page just now. Like everyone seems to be saying the nhs advice is don’t worry if you wake up on your back, just roll over.
