@Falalafel have they given you supplements? I'm sure in most cases you suffer more than the baby with this sort of thing.

My anxiety has upped today too. But, it might be psychosomatic as today was the first day since last Monday that I haven’t poas or took my bbt so might have something to do with that.

Falalafel · 20/09/2018 22:16

@Pebblespony @rosettesforjill thanks for reply. I’ve been taken regular supplements will need to get an injection on every week for next month or so. All will be fine ....Panicked a bit #hormones

kiltedsheep · 20/09/2018 22:17

@Falalafel no experience of B12 here either, I'm afraid. I hope they've given you a supplement of some sort? And I'm not a medic but I expect that, even if your B12 levels are low, baby would have taken as much as required before your own body got any benefit (or lack thereof). Keep us updated!

@rosettesforjill thanks for the Headspace tip! I downloaded it and love it so much that I've already subscribed. Thank God for the fact that the bloke has an English accent rather than an American one

kiltedsheep · 20/09/2018 22:19

@Falalafel whoops - cross posted. I hope the injection does the job. It doesn't sound pleasant but I'm glad they're doing something to up your levels

Rubberduckies · 21/09/2018 06:50

@falalafel No experience during pregnant I'm afraid, but had low b12 recently and with my Gp's permission took 1000ug b12 sublingual tablets (melt under the tongue) instead of injections and they worked brilliantly! I probably should check they're ok to take during pregnancy.....

I'm considering an early scan, 12 weeks seems too far away! What's the best time to go so we're more likely to see a heart beat? I felt very queasy the last 2 days which I initially out down to anxiety. Now my mouth is drooling like I'm about to be sick all the time and so I think it's actually a real symptom..... Not a nice one......

EspressoPatronum · 21/09/2018 07:00

The nausea is starting to kick in 😣 please let it be more manageable than last time....

SurfingOwl · 21/09/2018 07:26

No experience of B12 either. Have you been prescribed supplements @Falalafel?

If you can hold on until seven weeks @Rubberduckies then I’d try to for an early scan, although lots of people seem to have success seeing the heartbeat from a week before.

I’m feeling really on edge and anxious now. It’s horrible.

MimiSunshine · 21/09/2018 07:27

I’m off to the midwife this morning for my booking in appointment.

I’m quietly excited as it feels like the first proper step of the pregnancy being official but this is my 2nd so I know in reality it’s a long appointment of basically form filling and last time I found it a bit of an anticlimax as I had no idea what to expect.

I have remembered to pick up a urine sample pot though so I now need to remember to fill it before I go.

Falalafel · 21/09/2018 07:31

Thanks @kiltedsheep 🙏@rubberduckies The melt in your tongue sounds much nicerbut I think my body has an issue absorbing it. Literally exhausted, when I’m not in work I’m in bed. Sad
I think after 6 weeks is fine for an early scan. A colleague recently had one around 7/8 weeks. It might be nice to settle your nerves if you’ve a long wait ...considering booking one too!

Falalafel · 21/09/2018 07:43

Sorry @SurfingOwl crossed post! I’ve been prescribed weekly injections for the next 5 weeks. I’d already been taking supplements but no joy.
Flowers sorry to hear you’re feeling crap! Just try be as kind to yourself as possible (easier said than done I know).

MissSmith80 · 21/09/2018 08:07

@MimiSunshine I've got my booking appointment today too. It's my first so it does feel quite exciting because meeting my midwife for the first team feels a big deal but I have read about the form filling nature of it. Thanks for the reminder about the sample pot - I work for the NHS so have to go and sneakily raid the store cupboard without being caught or people will want to know why I need a specimen bottle 😂

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 21/09/2018 08:27

So after a week of debilitating nausea I actually feel a bit better today, and now that’s making me paranoid that something’s wrong. The anxiety is insane isn’t it?

inkworks273 · 21/09/2018 08:38

Does anyone suffer from ibs? I'm getting woken up in the middle of the night with stomach cramps. It's been every night for almost 2 weeks.

I would normally take mebeverine but it's not safe to take during pregnancy. I spoke to my gp yesterday and he said to take 2 buscopan before bed but when I googled it it said it wasn't recommended during pregnancy either Sad

SurfingOwl · 21/09/2018 08:59

Many years ago I did @inkworks273 and it seemed to stop, except during pregnancy! I’m either constipated or else spending the day worried about going anywhere or eating anything because I have diarrhoea. I don’t seem to suffer from morning sickness though, so probably shouldn’t complain.

MimiSunshine · 21/09/2018 12:31

@MissSmith80 I hope your appointment goes well.
All fine here, booked in for my flu jab and hopefully the scan appointment won’t take too long to come through.

The midwife did tell me that the NHS are rolling out the non-invasive pre-natal testing (Harmony test) from October so should any screening come back high risk then I should be able able to have that if I want it.

I knew it was coming but good to know it’s fairly soon

DreamsofSummer · 21/09/2018 14:06

Hi everyone. 1st timer here. 32 y/o, 6 weeks today. Just had my GP appt, but she didn't do anything but take some details and tell me to self-refer to midwife. They even asked me to take a urine sample, which wasn't used... I stopped having symptoms yesterday, boobs suddenly no longer sore, didn't bloat at night. Stupidly went on google and found thread on mmc, wish I hadn't...

Pebblespony · 21/09/2018 14:11

STEP AWAY FROM DR GOOGLE! Smile I'm sure it's all fine @Dreams. Being pregnant can really mess with your head.

seeingdots · 21/09/2018 14:22

Where are you @MimiSunshine? That's great, I had the Harmony on the NHS last time and it was a big comfort as I'm pretty sure we'd have refused an amnio. We've booked in for it privately this time though as my midwife told me that wouldn't be the case this time round if I got a high risk screening so it must not be getting rolled out everywhere (I'm NHS Tayside).

frankiefumbles · 21/09/2018 14:28

@DreamsofSummer it's normal for symptoms to fluctuate Thanks

earlybirdhasanap · 21/09/2018 14:54

@DreamsofSummer it's easy to worry about a mmc but I hope you don't mind if I share my experiences of when I had one? My symptoms didn't stop at once it's was a gradual process over a week or so where I felt better and better each day between 8-10 weeks less tired/from being sick to just nauseous to nothing. My last (with my dd) pregnancy symptoms would stop and then start again which is normal.
In hindsight with my mmc I knew something was wrong because I'd gotten really worked up just before I went for my 12 week scan and told my mum there was something wrong, I walked into the scan and said "I don't think it's going to be ok" and they brushed me off but I was right. But it was nothing I could have noticed from one day to the next. It was the way I felt over a period of time?
It's really easy to worry but if you look at the statistics it's quite rare and disproportionately talked about online etc because people are desperate to share their experiences and have someone to talk to about it because if they are anything like me they never dreamed it would happen to them.

DreamsofSummer · 21/09/2018 15:02

Thanks guys. I stepped away from the internet and back to work (working from home today) and that helped take my mind of it. I hadn't been nervous at all until now so I guess I was overdue for a flap Grin Just decided that since there is no way to know and nothing that can be done, I might as well not fret about it. I'll have a scan in a few weeks and hopefully all will be well. Good luck and stay warm everyone!

MimiSunshine · 21/09/2018 17:19

@seeingdots I’m Midlands. She didn’t say exactly when in October but I doubt I’ll have my scan until the middle of that month, then the screening results usually take up to a week after to come through.
So I imagine that if we do need any further testing it wouldnt be before the end of the month anyway.

Hopefully we don’t need it though.🤞🏼

DreamsofSummer · 21/09/2018 17:32

@kiltedsheep I meditate regularly and it does a world of difference. I go to my local buddhist centre to meditate (you don't have to identify as a buddhist or anything) and also use apps. Calm and Headspace are good and Mind the Bump is a pregnancy specific one that's also free. Since BFP I've started listening to hypnobirthing and pregnancy relaxation tapes on Scribd and quite enjoying it.

dreaminofholidays · 21/09/2018 18:11

@dreamsofsummer Very similar to you, woke up today and I just don't feel pregnant. Hopefully symptoms will be back soon xx
