@SassehMonsta that’s good to know. Google search had me suspecting multiples 😂 ....suppose you never know.

SurfingOwl · 18/09/2018 21:56

I think I need to dig out the maternity clothes very soon although I suspect a significant part is the fact I weighed more than normal at the start of this pregnancy anyway.

LokiWho · 18/09/2018 21:58

Hello, can I join?

5 weeks today with my 5th pregnancy. I have 3 dc age 15, 14 and a toddler who is 15 months.
(I miscarried my 4th baby in April)

I got my bfp last week at 10dpo so already feel like it’s dragging! Estimated edd 21st May.

Spoke to the co-ordinator at the GP today who has passed my details on for the midwife to do a home visit. They do your booking appointment in the community here. Will find out tomorrow when that is!

Feeling scared/nervous/excited all at the same time.

Symptom wise, Have had some fleeting nausea the past few days but my toddler has a cold so don’t know if he’s giving me his lurgy or it’s pregnancy related yet. Been quite crampy too.

I’m in Wales - any others local?

fadgadget · 18/09/2018 22:04

@frankiefumbles, setting the app to current will align with how far along we generally talk about here, ie. the number of weeks and days since start of last period, otherwise it’s one week less and is a bit confusing if you ask me.

Hi and congrats to all the newcomers! Grin

frankiefumbles · 18/09/2018 22:32

@fadgadget so then perhaps I've just gained a week - I like this! Can we keep fast forwarding!?

So therefore when people are talking about getting a scan at 8 weeks, then are we actually talking about "current" weeks/forum terms and if people used "completed" weeks they'd be saying the scan was in fact at 7 weeks? Do the doctors and the sonographer also talk in terms of current weeks rather than completed?

I'm sure I had this sussed last time but I think my app must have reset itself so I thought I knew what I was doing but I actually don't :) maybe it's past my bedtime

SassehMonsta · 19/09/2018 05:39

@frankiefumbles sounds complicated. I think you want current otherwise it counts in whole weeks, so 7+6 would still show as "7", when closer to 8. Meh, your choice. I'm apparently due 6th June but we shall see!

DH very surprised as 7 weeks ago he had a circumcision and we have only had sex the once since then. Think I ovulated same day and I disagree with my app on that. I'm with @LokiWho with time going slowly, as tested at 14dpo and have a poorly toddler. This morning's nausea feels all too familiar mind you.

I'm central England based here, Northamptonshire.

fadgadget · 19/09/2018 06:07

@frankiefumbles now I’m confused hahaha

I had to re-input my ‘gestational age’ again in settings once I put it in ‘completed’ mode to make proper sense of it. Now I think ‘completed’ is the correct mode to have it in after all.

I am 7+4 so completed shows this properly, ie. 7 weeks complete and 4 days into week 8. So it says ‘7 weeks, 4 days’.

If I put it in ‘current’ it says ‘week 8, day 4), I.e. on my fourth day of week 8, which also makes sense but doesn’t really align with how I would describe how far along I am if I was telling someone.

So now I’m sticking with completed!

MauisLeftNipple · 19/09/2018 06:42

Lorrie3 I am 5+6. I only do fairly light weights myself as don't have a proper home gym (dumb bells are currently stored under a sofa!).

I think you will be ok carrying on as you are til 12 weeks. After that I would be more careful. Heavy weights exert pressure on your pelvic floor and core. Your baby will start to exert pressure on those areas too. Trainers often don't have enough expertise in pre- and postnatal exercise. They might tell you to stop doing exercises altogether when actually you can carry on, just with lighter weights at a slower pace.

There is a woman I follow on fb called Brianna Battles, who writes about training in pregnancy and recovery afterwards. Pregnancyexercise.co.nz (also on fb) is quite a good resource too.

Dimblebimble · 19/09/2018 07:42

Woohoo! 5 weeks today and just got my 3+ on a clear blue digital Grin

SassehMonsta · 19/09/2018 07:55

Nausea overwhelming. Sitting waiting for doctors to open to get Stemtil and ketone dipsticks to avoid hospital admission again. Hoping to nip it in the bud.

zoClueless · 19/09/2018 08:08

I was doing classes most lunch breaks before and all I've really done now is introduce some rest days to give my body time to recover. I told the trainer I see most often for classes (and have been trying to make sure I go to his) and he said I can continue the classes as I did before and don't need to hold back unless i feel I might get dizzy or feeling sick. He has been discrete and is still pushing me in class, but also quietly checking I'm feeling ok. I also see him fortnightly for PT sessions so have his contact details so of things were to go wrong I could just text him to let him know - bit less awkward.

I'm missing one of my other classes though so I might tell that trainer after I've had my early scan and am (hopefully!) feeling more confident. I don't have any way to contact him so would have to pass any bad news on in person so less keen to tell him early, which is why I've just not been going to that class (it's a boxing class so probably shouldn't do it without telling him)

zoClueless · 19/09/2018 08:09

@Popsalot15 it's so awkward when this situations arise isn't it. I think I am going to need to tell her as not taking this opportunity will probably reflect poorly on my 'commitment to professional development' otherwise.

SurfingOwl · 19/09/2018 08:49

That’s great @Dimblebimble. It’s always so nice and reassuring to see 3+ when you expect it.

Do you have a history of HG @SassehMonsta? I hope your GP is understanding.

frankiefumbles · 19/09/2018 08:50

@Dimblebimble massive congrats

SassehMonsta · 19/09/2018 08:51

Yes - had it up to around 24 weeks with DD, and actually had a termination because of HG in my second pregnancy (DD was barely 5 months, there was no way I could have done that again!)

Still waiting. Appointment should be soon then I'll have no choice but to tell work as I have phoned them to let them know where I am.

Dimblebimble · 19/09/2018 09:21

Called the doctors surgery and asked what I need to do next. They said I needed to go and pick up a pregnancy pack from the surgery and fill out a form for the midwife. I said I'd pop straight over. I tried to be really discrete as I have family in the area and I really don't want anyone except me and dh to know until 12 weeks. The receptionist was so the opposite and said loudly congratulations, here's your pregnancy pack and proceeded to say that I be words pregnancy pack and midwife loudly several times so everyone in the waiting room could hear. Am I being irrational to be annoyed about this? I'm sure lots of people don't want to broadcast their pregnancy to the neighbourhood at 5 weeks Sad

Dimblebimble · 19/09/2018 09:22

Thanks @frankiefumbles and @SurfingOwl. Feel like I can lay off the pee sticks now 👍🏻😂

fadgadget · 19/09/2018 09:24

That’s not irrational at all, I’d be furious.

They were fairly discreet when I went, not that the big purple folder they handed me wouldn’t be immediately recognisable to anyone who has seen one before...

And I still haven’t heard from the midwife and it’s been 3 weeks. Am I wrong to be annoyed about that? I guess they’re waiting till 8 week mark maybe.

rosettesforjill · 19/09/2018 09:37

@fadgadget I need to phone my midwife I think - I'm 8 weeks today and still haven't had my booking in appointment date! If I haven't had anything in the post by tomorrow I'll give them a call as I will need to give work a bit of notice. Especially because last time the whole appointment took three bloody hours (different hospital though!)

Firstbornunicorn · 19/09/2018 09:43

Hey all!
Have found my sickness has receded in the past day or so. Still waiting for another wave but enjoying it while it lasts.
Really stressful situation has arisen in work which is making me really anxious. Hopefully it won't affect bub and they are blissfully unaware of my stress!
Hope everyone is feeling good today.

Dimblebimble · 19/09/2018 09:46

@fadgadget I haven't looked through my pack properly but it says the midwife will call within 1 week of me receiving it. Whether they do or not is another matter 🙈

inkworks273 · 19/09/2018 11:36

Feeling a bit sick this morning and I'm only 4+6. Hoping it's not the start of morning sickness!

We're going to Fuerteventura a week on Saturday when I'll be 6+2. Quite nervous about it.

I've went ahead and booked a early reassurance scan for the Monday we're back when I'll be 8+4. It was only £40 so we thought why not.

frankiefumbles · 19/09/2018 11:51

@inkworks273 I've done a holiday in those early days on both of my previous pregnancies. It makes the trip a little more difficult but actually it gives you a chance to really relax, much more so than if you were at work. I'm travelling at 6+5 this time (a week on Saturday!!), and I'm certainly slightly nervous about it but it will be fine. We can be travel buddies and I think we may be date buddies too because I think I ovulated late ;) Make sure your OH does all the lifting and shifting of bags. I found I was a little less organised than usual and needed a little bag with all the important stuff in - passport tickets etc just to keep stuff organised.

EspressoPatronum · 19/09/2018 12:27

Hello! Checking in again to the new thread, I'm now 5 + 1 with my second, and have had a few waves of nausea the past couple of days, but not too bad yet. Fingers crossed it stays manageable!

I dropped off the other thread as had a very stressful weekend with ds, ended up in hospital with him on Monday afternoon 😣

Aww all the early scans are so exciting, I had a major fear of mmc last time and can feel my anxiety about it getting up this time too - especially because I have no where near as many symptoms! Really can't afford an early scan though 😔 so will have to wait and see for my 12 week one...

Dimblebimble I'd be really cross!!

DietCoke1 · 19/09/2018 12:59

@frankiefumbles and @inkworks273 I go away to Spain tomorrow (5+3) and am nervous! I’m also worried about hiding the fact that I’m not drinking to so many family members!

Hoping the week away might relax me and let me take my mind of things!
